    3rd incident: with walls so close on either side , as soon as the cars start pinballing ahead, I'm going to threshold brake in a straight line since we can outbrake wrecking cars. I just don't like the odds of trying to shoot a gap and getting through that unscathed with lots of cars behind. Good chance of getting hit from behind either way though.

      Yeah i think you are absolutely right, looking back that would be a waaay better idea!

      Hindsight is 20/20. Sometimes you're better off stopping, other times better off slamming the throttle and closing your eyes. Reality is it's just a guess as to what you should do in the moment, because there is no way to predict what others will do.

    First incident - he understeers into you
    Second incident - he taps you
    Third incident - cars behind should have been backing off when they know full well there's an incident up ahead and the walls are so close. Nothing you could've done
    Just subscribed to your channel, it's really well presented!

    #1 The black car's fault. He dove in a bit too deep, ran on the curb and the grass which made him go wide into you. If the curb hadn't sent him wider (unlikely in that car) or if he had breaked 2 or 3 meters ealier, his running wider wouldn't have been a problem for you (maybe hit the blue cars or someone else).
    #2 the other red car passing on yor left's fault, possibly net-code. In another sim, eg, R3E, the net-code wouldn't have effected you as much and likely not caused you to crash.
    How to fight it? Countersteer more quickly: if you get the timing or the angle wrong, it COULD make it worse, not better (no worse than it ended up for you here). And/or, VERY lightly, press the breaks. This would also slow you down more and leave you vulnerable to also being hit by a car from behind w/ cars that close, front-to-back.
    #3 Racing incident. You did the best you could.

    Hi...first 2 instances not your fault...third was a racing incident...there was nothing you could have done in the heat of the moment...I use Crew chief and it's really good on letting you know what's around you...I mainly do GT3 races and they do get feisty...you only need to look on the session results to see how many incidents everyone has...

    • @AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx
      @AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx  5 месяцев назад

      Does crew chief kind of overwrite the organic spotter feature in the game and give you more info that way?
      Yeah they do get feisty, feel a bit like GT7 daily races sometimes… 🫣 though obviously not quite that bad!

      I concur. Unfortunately I get hosed like this in plenty races as well, your attitude is the right one, just keep on racing!

      @AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx crew chief is really helpful...there are a lot of RUclips tutorials to explain and it's free...and it makes it more i5mersive as they call you by name...Once you set it up you launch it and in the iracing settings you untick the iracing voice...👍

    3rd incident, you did everything right! Fair play to you, just unlucky.
    Sorry for commenting with a lot of opinions 😄 if I could share one more.. I think some of these were brought on from your defensive driving. People will attempt silly things when they can smell blood. The lower rating the sillier it gets! Assert a bit more dominance, take up more of the track when being followed, you might find people less likely to bomb

      no need for apology, I appreciate the time you took to provide feedback!! Yeah I had wondered if it was my reluctance to really get stuck in that put me in a position where this keeps happening, difficult to balance the want to gain SR to unlock more classes with racing hard.

    • @notfreshey

      @@AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx fwiw, my 2cents on gaining SR is that the quickest way isn’t the best. That’d be starting from pits and pootling round, but it doesn’t teach you how to race! When you’re in the mx5s and similar, that is the perfect time to learn what works and what doesn’t - sometimes at the loss of SR 😄

      Those races could be absolute chaos sometimes! Quite entertaining though

  • @notfreshey

    1st incident is on him, you’re through the corner and he’s come off the kerb carrying too much speed. Generally it’s a good idea not to put your nose where it doesn’t belong. Hopefully he’ll learn from that!

  • @notfreshey

    2nd incident, a bit unlucky, but if it’s on anyone it’s the car overtaking. Default responsibility is on the person overtaking to pass in a safe way

  • @gamingmidget
    @gamingmidget 5 месяцев назад

    1st crash was the other guys fault, he bounced off the kerb and went for a gap that wasnt there. 2nd crash was also the other guy but as soon as you crash and you know you cant stop it hold the breaks which will stop you moving across the track as much and limit other crashes.

    • @AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx
      @AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah i regret that it caused a load more incidents by pinging across the track! My reaction was to fight and catch the slide 😔

    • @lewisgordon1490
      @lewisgordon1490 5 месяцев назад +1

      True, it's usually best to jump on the breaks, but in this case, I bet that would leave him stopped in the middle of the track, w/ possible passing on the left or right.
      At the time, I don't think you could have known there would be cars there to the left that you hit. You could have also been hit if you stopped in the middle of the track. Both scenarios are equally bad and hard to predict, IMO.

    The first incident was on him. That was never on. The ferrari hates being on the curb and he was always going to wide. You will never stop people doing that, certainly in class D. 2nd one is a racing incident, BUT, the ownes to pass safely is on the passing car. The 3rd is just one of those annoyings that happens sometimes - nobodies fault

    • @AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx

      @@AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx I have had them where you look on the replay, the contact didnt look like it was hard enough to even scratch the paint, and you get handed a 4x

  • @dan1906
    @dan1906 5 месяцев назад

    My 2 cents;
    1st incident you checked up a bit and were off line. Definitely not your fault as you held your line, but a contributing factor. The dive bomb was desperate and led to the contact.
    2nd incident you appeared to slow again mid turn, but your new friend turned down on you. That's on them.
    3rd incident, the car in question moves towards mid track, away from the white line as you avoid the spinning car. I put that on him more than you, but ultimately a racing deal.

  • @callingallkings163

    The first one looks like net code and the black car loosing grip on the apex.. NOT your fault. He's not at your door and he should have backed out. You could have hugged the line in defense but You did fine there. 2nd: Looks like you went heavy on breaks and obviously that would have altered the guy behind reaction time. I wouldn't have braked at all but you are a bit slow and that's okay. If someone is that much faster than me I would have simply let them pass BUT it's a race sim not a Sunday driver sim. I would have slid into the gap but not braked... 3: You did pretty well not to Tbone the orange and take minimal damage. This is why I quite Iracing though I still have a year membership left. You practice for hours and die every single race. I'm an "A" class and when you get there, each situation hits harder. There's NO benefit to reaching A class as I found out. People there probably shouldn't have been there and are only there because they cheated the system by floating the back of pack until reaching A class. Sad the devs can't/won't fix the Sr system.

    • @AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx
      @AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx  5 месяцев назад

      I think you sum it up all quite well there! Yeah im not against letting an obviously faster guy buy and working to hold their slipstream, most people in iracing are very patient compared to many other games bit just the odd one or two every now and again appear out of nowhere it seems!
