I've never considered us getting Flagg... holy shit we could be good af
Been enjoying the videos. Rock on, and go Blazers! :)
Rock on bro, thanks so much for the comment! 🌹🔥🤝🏽
One more tank season, get Flagg, fire Chauncey, and then make playoffs. Clingan, Flagg, Avida, Sharpe, Henderson.
Avdija*
This is the dream scenario, that squad growing together and get a real owner who will pay them all and life in RipCity would be mighty fine.
☝️
So fire the Coach for tanking on purpose like the front office wants? NAW
Blazer ownership and management are easily the worst. Coach Billups can only do so much while dealing with the chaos. Roster has untapped potential to be much better.
Yeah but Billups is an average at best game coach. Sorta like Mo Cheeks was years ago.
Bottom 3 itl for sure
No way, not the worst. But bottom 8 feels safe to say. Especially if we keep Simon's and Grant. They're such defensive liabilities, and they're late game antics (TO monsters/ISO) maybe we keep so we have a better chance at Flagg :-P like I've said, I just want growth. I can handle losing as long as it's competitive. No more 60 point losses please!
Definitely depends what they do with Anfernee and Grant at the trade deadline (Assuming they don't make a move before the season starts). I agree though, growth is most important. Don't wanna be bad and see no growth lol
Portland lost games by 60. They had a -192 road trip. The players seem to get down in the dumps. Hiring an inspirational head coach is the next step, but the Blazers Front Office is stubborn, and don't like to admit mistakes.
They’ve been intentionally tanking for 3 seasons. Remember Philadelphia’s “The Process?” This is Portland’s version
I agree some of those bad games have been brutal. But they weren't the worst team last year even with horrible injury luck and a jumbled roster. I see the addition of Deni, Clingan, 2 new assistant coaches, and all around team growth helping them reach at least the 25ish win mark (assuming no MAJOR injuries)
Almost certainly, especially when you consider how much tougher their schedule will be compared to the dregs of the east (Pistons, Wiz, Nets).
I'll pay attention this year, but I really think that the Blazers need to go all in on tanking. Whatever record that takes. Which is weird because, as constructed, this seems like it should be easily better than last year if not +30 wins.
No, they might go 8-74 just because of how strong the west is.
Portland squandered their draft pick this year. How much better is Donovan Clingan compared to Deandre Ayton? In any other year, Clingan would have been a late 1st round pick. No b.s.
I disagree. Clingan obviously is not better than Ayton rn. But his defense and overall ceiling is higher than Ayton is rn. Ayton could get better , who knows, but will be interesting to see what Blazers do with Ayton and how good/bad clingan is over the next few seasons either way
@@pnwdevv Ayton averaged 16.7 ppg on almost 60% shooting, plus he got 11 rebounds a game. Those stats are the ceiling for Clingan. I don't understand why the Blazers drafted him.
@@jineshlachmansingh4709 defense is already light years ahead of Ayton. So if his ceiling is Ayton +DPOY thats insane
CAPTURE THE FLAGG
Might have to trade either Grant or Simons to tank well.
Or both
Unfortunately they're not the worst. Way too many good veterans still on the roster. They need to sit all of them and get Flagg.
The Brooklyn nets are the worst they have a backcourt of killian Hayes and Ben Simmons
Yeah they'll be lucky to scratch 5 wins 😭🤣
I'll be shocked if they're any good at all. I predict they're at the bottom of the western conference and the entire NBA.. Scoot is over rated and most of the team is disjointed as is the coach..
Are they the worst team in the NBA? Not by a long shot
Will they have the worst record next year? Probably not, but they’ll try to get it
Will be interesting how they tank if Scoot and Shae are healthy and play well
@@pnwdevv Yeah they will definitely tank next year because the draft is so strong and their first round pick goes to the Bulls if they make the playoffs
nope
Bet I'll give you the work with them in 2k tho
Probably would lowkey, I only played 2k like twice 😭
@pnwdevv lol this was just in general not calling you out big dog 💪🏽
Bottom 4 record wise for sure
The over/under for games won is 21...we can beat that easily if we stay more healthy than the last few seasons, and also depending how hard management tanks at the end of this season
Who reported this line? Curious if it would change as we get closer to the season
We will make play in if we are allowed to compete but they dont seem to let them give there full effort and seem to think losing for draft picks is the way to go when its shown it hasnt worked out
I think if Scoot and Shae are better than we think, they'll let them compete and make the play in if the team is that good. Chauncey wants to win
They will not make the play-in, that's fucking ridiculous: this is a horrible roster designed to tank.
If your Gm telling you to tank it's not your fault you see the nba gives the number one pick to who they feels trying to win games if anyone who played sports you are not trying to lose that will only break your confidence period
they will be just fine ! it depends on a good rotation, good coaching, and if they try to play group basketball
Fire the coach as you do not need a coaching staff to get top draft pick. Draft Flagg and then hire an experienced coaching staff that's good at developing new talent.
25-30..
Look we gotta be honest, Billups needs to be gone after this season if not during this one if the right person becomes available. I get all the excuses folks throw out to excuse him but after 3 years the coach should have an obvious identity that shows clear. It’s great for tanking but this should be the last full on tank mode season so a new coach and clear direction needs to take advantage of all the talent available on the roster.
Hoping for Dan Hurley 🙏
They owe him one season to show what he can do when not under orders to tank
Agreed. Sounds like Billups isn't exactly stoked to coach a rebuilding team (has mentioned before this is not the team he was expecting to coach) and the fact they didn't fire him or extend him (yet) this off season, to me says he won't be here after next season
@@gregbors8364 problem is we are going to tank this season coming up and still be a lottery team the season after that . He’s just a bad coach and it can hurt the development of the players
Not to absolute worst. But bottom 5.
using 10 or less game production of players is bogus projection.
As for talent, I think Blazers can at least reach the Play-In, but it's all up to the coach!... Last season Blazers played on a very slow pace, they were last place in the whole league in assists, it only shows there was no ball sharing, not ball movement, so what's all that if not coaching??? If Chauncey Ray Billups is not gonna change everything, so there is no chance for nothing!
It's up to Cronin and his bosses. They've been tanking in spite of what Chauncey wants.
@@terrancealexander-nelson8743 Yes a lot of that I can agree, but in order to develop young players they need to learn and build a team foundation, if everybody do what they want it's bad for the team future?
Not necessarily. The best coach in the league can only take a group of scrubs so far. This team has talent, but it would take perfect health, perfect coaching, and other teams completely collapsing in order for Portland to secure a play in. I just don't see them being better than the Rockets/ Warriors/ Lakers etc
They were that way with ball sharing the last 8 years. This season, they made the acquisition of ball share defensive players.
Billups is not to blame for want to lose
I agree, he just helps them lose lol. Probably would have maybe 5ish more wins in a season if we had a better coach, but if the players like him it's not that big of a deal to me
I think we get 28 wins and 11 in the West
Hot take, the Blazers win 35 games this year. They will be what the Rockets were last season as far as preseason expectations compared to final season results.
I'd be stoked if you're right haha
That is ABSURD.
We wont be the worst in the league but we will be the worst in the west imo
well we got the best tanking coach in the NBA, so you gotta go with your strengths
of course that's a new culture for Clingan so he'll have to get on board
Yeah I feel like Clingan and Scoot sorta shift that culture a bit which is great
