Jxmy has perfected his formula to such a degree that I half-believed he would continue the video with some 9 point play that happened in the 70s

Respect to Draymond for pulling off the 8 point play, simply incredible.
He's officially the 3rd splash brother now... 😂 points record as well
🤣🤣
How to literally throw an already losing game.
Actually, it's not technically an 8-point game. The defining factor of a "play" is time. A play is an activity of a team on the court in a certain period of time. Which is the time that elapses between the start of the clock and the time it stops. The free throw points were scored before the clock started, so they cannot be add on the next play
Got to give it to draymond lol 8 point in a possession is wild as hell lmao 😜
I was there for this play. I'm a Blazers production employee, and was running Spot #11, over the opposing bench, and got to watch this all happen live and right under my feet. Got to listen to Mark Mason go nuts on comms. Pound on the rafter I was attached to and scream with the crowd. It was a magical end to a game we weren't sure we'd win.
I’m the owner of the Warriors, and I was there too. See, anyone can say anything.
@@randomchaos9359 And yet, what I said is true. I'll be at the game on the 10th next week running house lights.
@@randomchaos9359 can I has some free tickets? 😅

I was really surprised when Draymond didn't get the call overturned. Usually once a player informs a ref that they blew it, they quickly retract the call, apologize, and give the ball back to the team that committed the foul. That's just how it's always worked in the NBA.
Especially if a Player shouts in the Ref face - that is a solid undeniable argument and refs must act accordingly by retracting the call.
exactly, i couldnt believe my eyes when i saw it. i surely thought they would take back the point from the free throw that was already shot, write draymond an apology letter and give him an ice cream. i was shocked
That call was so bogus! They should give Draymond a 9 point play for that incredibly stupid mistake!
Idk, I always thought that if the ref could be convinced, they'd call a bad foul on the other team to equalize.
Oh ho! This thread is funny because everyone is saying the opposite of what they're really thinking!
America
"Then steals one of the most dogshit inbound passes I've ever seen in my life." 🤣
Theoretically, it would be possible to have infinite points on 1 play. If you get an and 1, miss the free throw, get the offensive rebound and another and 1, and that process repeats itself over and over again, you could, in theory, get hundreds of points on one play.
This is like onside kicks in football. If they could recover every kick, then the other team will never have the ball. But we still consider them all separate drives.
Maybe someday we'll see an entire half that just consists of a single play
Theres only so many times players are willing to foul
This is actually incorrect. Eventually all of the players would foul out 🤣
But fouled out players are brought back in, if the team drops below 5 players
“Draymond attempts to do the impossible…by trying to get the refs to overturn the foul by yelling in his face. This does not work.” Had me rolling.
He is highroller for a reason
Something I'd except in a Jon Bois video. Good stuff.
@@CheckUnderYou Bois has influenced a whole generation of YT storytellers and I could not be any more here for it.
That 7 point play in last year's Finals had me pissed as a Celtics fan. Almost lost them the game, but I was still fascinated at how a 7-0 run was made in 13 seconds. Never knew about the 8 point play though. Good find, Jxmy.

Correction: Larry Bird actually hit 3 clutch shots in the game you are referring to, he hit the 1st that was waved off due to the timeout call, then a 2nd after the timeout to tie the game and send it to overtime, the he hit a 3rd and final clutch shot in the second overtime to seal it. the date was November 7, 1987 bird finished with a staggering 47pts 8reb 7ast 2stl & most importantly 3 clutch shots to ice it. L3g3nd.
good catch, alot of people miss this fact.
Not trying to be that guy, but he said game winning. Still clutch AF though. 33!!!!
@@Blk_Yonko right, that is the very correction that i made above, it wasn't 2 "game winners" as stated in the video but rather 2 back to back clutch shots to send the game to OVERTIME and then a final clutch game winner in 2OT for a total of 3 clutch shots one of them the "game winner". the reason people keep making this mistake is because they are watching the same video that misstates the facts and edits the wrong two shots together omitting the 3rd clutch shot altogether from this game, the final game winner you see bird hit on this video is actually not the one after the timeout but rather the one he hit in 2OT to win it. all of these clutch shots being 3 pointers as well for the record.
Correction: He said game winning.😂😂

The fact you went from the Warriors having a possible 7 point play to the Blazers getting an 8 point play against them is crazy
What I love is that both rare plays had a Steph Curry on one side and the 8 point had Seth Curry too.
Jimmy’s videos are 10,000 times better than anything ESPN tries to air on their channels (with the exception of live games/matches). It would be amazing if they gave this man a contract and Jimmy had his own ESPN series with these types of videos. He doesn’t even need to be pushed to make a video every day, just 1-2 videos a week with the budget that ESPN has to produce high quality sports videos, I think they would make some of the best content out there

As soon as I saw that clip at the beginning I was like "I was at that game." I had no idea that was such an anomaly! Not sure if it happened before, but Steph Curry once did 2 half court shots in the same game back in 2016. The first one being waived off because he shot it after the buzzer, and made the second one which resulted in a crazy play! This was against the pacers btw incase anyone want to look it up. At least for me, it was a rare occurrence to have the same player hit more than 1 half court shot in the same game
I remember seeing that in a highlight reel. It’s not really talked about as much.

Thanks jxmy for the much entertaining vid

I remember watching this game live and I was shocked when they did it. Watching my dad to see if he thought the same but didn’t and I thought this was a totally forgotten play until you brought it up
The goat is back 🤝🏽🤝🏽🤝🏽
Eight points isn't the limit either. This could actually go on indefinitely. Let's say that when Layman hit the final three of this sequence he was fouled. Let's say the foul was ruled flagrant due to an improper closeout. That then results in a FT plus possession again. So the Blazers would be up to 9 points with the chance to hit yet another three. Or if Layman was fouled and missed the FT but the Blazers got an offensive rebound and kicked it out for another three that's an 11-point play. Etc. There's theoretically no limit to how many points could be scored in a possession. It just becomes increasingly less and less likely.
Exactly
Jimmy is too good at this. Gives me the original 30 for 30 vibes 🙏🏽🙌🏽
His vids are so good I almost thought there was gonna be some 9 point play from the 60s
This vid got a real Secret Base vibe to it. Love it.

Jimmy has such a masterpiece style of content creating in my opinion. Keeping us entertained in the off season 💪
That was actually pretty amazing. Gave me goosebumps
Great vid you are the goat
A 9-point play happened in a game I played when I was kid. Our center got intentionally fouled on a shot he made and another player shoved him down for a tech and he made 5 FT's. We kept possession and he made another layup. It was crazy how his initial shot went in. One of the opponents grabbed his off arm and yanked him down and he just kind of whipped the ball hard at the backboard from point blank range and it rattled between the rim and backboard a dozen times and went in.
I would have to say Tracey mcgrady scoring 13 points in 35 seconds is the most rare and amazing play ever.
This is interesting, but still, Isaiah Rider's over the shoulder 3 pointer while saving the ball from going out of bounds is still one of the most impressive plays ever. Pretty sure the best I've seen
Man you are the best
Jxmy always puts the best efforts in his videos. The goat bball RUclipsr.
4:00 offensive rebounds =/= and 1
Great video as always jimmy! Just wanted to comment that I made a 6 point play in a national tournament here in mexico, first of all I was on a fastbreak and I got the and-1, I missed the shot, grabbed my own rebound, passed it to a teammate just for him passing me the ball again and hit an and-1 three, it was kinda crazy and it’s the favorite moment of my life fs, I tied a 6 point game in a couple of seconds!!
Oh buddy, that 6 point play search gag got a hearty chuckle out of me.
