- Escape with me for a day in a cozy family cabin, as we cook up a day of summer meals. Its also my daughters birthday! So I'm sharing my favorite vanilla cake recipe. And hang in there till the very end. I have a special music treat for you!

Recipes for today: (feel free to half some of these recipes)
French Crepes:
6 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups flour
2 TBS butter melted
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 tsp salt
combine in blender
Berry Sauce:
2 cups June berries
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 TBL lemon juce
1 tsp vanilla
Vanilla Birthday Cake:
Mix in mixer
2 1/4 cups cake flour ( i used all purpose)
1 3/4 sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
In separate bowl mix
1 cup of whole milk
6 large egg whites
2 tsp vanilla extract
Add to flour mix 12 TBL butter cubed, until crumbly.
Slow add milk mixture. Beat until batter becomes fluffy. About 2 minutes. Add parchment to 9 inch baking pans and butter. Bake at 350 in 9 inch round pans for 22 to 26 minutes.
Thai curry:
2 cans coconut milk
1/4 cup or 2 TBL curry paste
2 TBL fish oil
2 TBL sugar
2 TBL lime juice
handful of basil or cilantro
veggies of choice and meat thinly sliced of choice

Nothing like mountain life!! I recently moved from Tennessee to Florida & I'm already missing it!🫤 I love the mountains, nothing more beautiful.. especially in fall. I loved having my morning coffee on my frog porch swing looking across the mountains! All the beautiful reds, yellows & oranges..Gods beautiful masterpiece😊 But God has moved us into another season so... Its taking alot of getting used to! So unbearably hot in FL🥵 We love renting cabins way up high in fall & winter, the snow is beautiful in the mountains too! Hope your daughter had a wonderful birthday! Oh those mountain rivers are always nice & chilly! The baby was so sweet sitting by the water's edge😊 My Kids are grown.. the oldest is 38 & my baby will be 25 on Friday🥹 We normally will go out to eat or cook out. My little grandson will be 5 on Saturday so we're having a party for him with the blow up water slide & several kids from our church. Next weekend my hubby is taking my son out on a boat fishing.. since he's older he has to wait lol😄 Same, i don't care for super sweet cakes. The cake looked very yummy😋 Yes mama.. cherish these times, they true grow up at too fast!🥹 Its like you blink your eyes & they're walking, then going to school, then driving & then.. they get married & become parents themselves. I love my grandbabies with all my heart, but i miss MY babies😔 Honestly, I've never earth Ty food, but that really looked delish!😋 Your son is really good on piano.. so sweet sitting & playing with his grandmother😊 Thanks for sharing part of your faction/family time with us! The last scene of them playing piano was the icing on the cake for me in this video! So lovely and heartwarming!!! The whole video was a delight to watch so I can only imagine what it was like to experience. New follower here… from Kentucky, God bless!

OMG when I saw the waxed paper I said to myself “ NO WAY!” That’s exactly how I do it, and my Mom and Grandma before me. I have NEVER seen anyone else trace the pan and cut the waxed paper. Yay us!
Ok spoke too soon. The waxed paper has never stuck for me, just given me a beautiful smooth side for the frosting.
It sticks to my cakes. I usually use parchment for the cake lining. What ever works is great though!

I did my first character cake last month for my niece 😊it was a bluey cake it wasnt hard and i kept it simple but she loved the cake, it was white chocolate strawberry cake (supposed to be raspberry but we didn’t had any of it) everyone liked the cake, look up simple designs for the characters the kids would like and you can give it a go its really worth it

Good video. When my kids were young, I was too busy making a living and taking care of my house and I missed out on those times with them. I am so sorry now, but I am making a conscious effort to enjoy every minute I get to spend with my grandkids. You are lucky that you have learned while your kids are young. Once they are grown, you can never get that time back. Thanks for your hard work making these great videos.

Birthdays definitely need to be celebrated 🥰. We always decorate including their bedroom door while they are sleeping. We hang streamers down the door so they walk through them (they loved this); they pick all the meals for the day; they got to invite one friend for dinner; during dinner we tell the story of the birthday child’s birth. You see each of my children almost died either during pregnancy or at birth. They were named specifically to reflect God’s goodness. My sons are grown men and still love to hear “their” story.

i do butter and sugar mix tog untill light and flufy then add all the dry insredence with the eggs
