Your salads look yummy. Our new favorite at family parties is called Cowboy Caviar and is easy to make. 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed; 1 can sweet white corn, drained and rinsed; 2-3 Roma tomatoes, diced; 2 extra large or 3 regular avocados, diced; 1/2 bunch cilantro, finely chopped; 1/8 cup lime juice, more to taste; 1 jalapeno, diced if you like it spicy; Salt and pepper to taste. Toss all ingredients in a large bowl. Be careful not to overmix. Serve with Tortilla chips.😁

I’m new to your channel. The bowl you used to serve your potato salad, I have that exact same bowl! Same color and worn spots. It belonged to my great grandma. I wish I could share a picture. I use it as a veggie/fruit bowl. It’s where I put my garden harvest that I didn’t cook that day.
I like to bring corn casserole to my family reunion.
    2 cans of drained corn
    1 can of cream corn
Chopped medium jalapeño. Can leave seeds if want.
    1/3 cup cream.
Stir in casserole dish. Top with 5 tabs of butter
Bake uncovered 375 for 20-25 mins
Let rest for 5 mins. Serve.

Your so soft spoken, but you relax me when I get home from work. I grew up on this potato Salad, as I call it a labor of love, but so worth it. Never a drop left. I hope you will try it. I always make 5lbs but can be adjusted to taste
Ingredients for 5lbs of potatoes. (I use a hardy Brown skin not Russett but all work) Skin on if Red thin if not peel.
    5 lbs of potatoes
1lb or more you do you of Fresh Bacon
1 medium Onion (I grate small as some don't like)
    Celery Seed
1tablespoon of salt to be used throughout
1 tablespoon of vinegar (give or take may need more)
    Mayo till coated
Directions: all at the same time. I make a day ahead
Boil potatoes with water covered and some salt - when finished cool in colander and rotate till you decide if peeling. no wet on skins
Fry Bacon till crispy if in strips then cut to bite size, or cut before hand. Your Choice.
Reserve 3 tablespoons of the Bacon Greece in that pan, you need it for the dressing.
Peel your potatoes when cooled, or leave skin on of thin skinned, and cut and dice
Add your chopped or diced onion
Add 1/4 tsp of your salt
    Pepper to desire
If Bacon is Chopped add it here or Cut the strips and add
Now - Mix gently all ingredients and the Magic happens...
Take the pan you left some of the Bacon grease and on med to low heat (Heat it up). Let it get hot and add your vinegar. You can't go wrong with the Merry of mixture. I add on the side of 2tbs of vinegar is making a day before.
Let both get warm and add directly to your bowl. Get all those bits.
Mayo Time - add a couple of tablespoons and gently mix to not break up the potatoes and add more till all coated.
Sprinkle Celery Seed on top to cover then mix again and Place in fridge.
(Note- I typically make a day before so I add some leftover crunchy bacon to top and taste for seasoning and remix and keep in fridge till serving) You won't be disappointed.
Hope someone tries. 5 Generation, Kinda like German and American combined.

I like watching your videos because of your food. I just finished watching one of your videos where you said your the the homemaker guru. I am sorry but you are not. It is great you can afford to stay home and bring up your children with both parents. I find my mother was a guru in the home even though she worked several jobs

    • @crystalison6193
      @crystalison6193 14 дней назад +2

I’m not sure which video you are referencing, but homemaking skills can be honed in whether you work outside the home part of the day or not. Jenilee IS the guru or ”teacher” in her home, just as your Mom was in yours. No need to be negative in either situation. So glad you had a Mom you could look up to and learn from, just as Jenilee’s children have in her. Sounds like these two Moms are/were both hardworking mothers with their home and children’s interest and care in mind.
