- I chat to viewers and let them know what I've been up to recently, including a trip Sally and I made to the South West to attend my grandson's first birthday party. On our way back, we visited Burnham On Sea, Somerset; viewed a disappearing sea and took a look at a 700 year old leaning tower.

Thanks Alan for taking me back to Burnham on Sea which I visited over 20 years ago to visit a relative on his 80th birthday, it is a lovely place to go to. It looked like yourself and Sally had a nice time there but Reggie had a great time running and investigating the beach. I hope that people will realise that your Heritage Ventures are very interesting also. I hope that you, Sally and Reggie are doing well, belated Happy Birthday to your little grandson. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Hi Stevie, thanks for your lovely comment. We had a great time, it was good to have a change of scenery. I'm publishing another heritage video later in the week - steam related, so please look out for that. We're all fine thanks and hope you are, all the best, Alan and Sally.
Evening Alan and Sally, good to see you both out and about again. Fascinating to watch as always. We're in Cardiff so no excuses for not getting over to the islands. Many thanks again, thoroughly enjoyed watching....🍷🍷
Evening Steve, thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed. You’re in the right spot to visit one or both islands, just the cruise would be great fun. All the best 🥂
Alan your grandson is adorable. This was a lovely vlog. Was nice seeing Sally and Reggie. Thank you for the Heritage vlogs they are places I would have loved to visit and things I would have loved to do had I been able to visit Great Britain. Good health and safe travels
That's very kind of you to say, thank you Ginger. There's more heritage coming, so please look out for that. All the best, take care.
The history and scenery is quite remarkable on this trip. So much to see on your drive-about and walk-about, particularly the leaning church tower. It’s been there a long time so it won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. 😎
Your grandson is so cute and I know it was a nice visit with your family and It’s wonderful that Sally and Reggie could come with you. Take care and Thank you for taking us along.
Thank you for your comment Mary Jane. It was good to have a change of scenery and lovely to get together with my family, not something that happens too often. I'd never noticed the leaning tower previously, on visits to Burnham. All the best, take care.
Hi Alan what a joy to see your grandson, he’s a chip of the old block for sure. We have spent a few holidays in Burnham it’s a lovely town, great commentary as normal. Have great week😊
Thank you so much Sandy for your kind words. I'm visiting Sally this week, really looking forward to it. You too have a good week.
Hello Alan & Sally. That was a nice video for Sunday morning hope you are both well.
I hope the weather changes for you soon Alan so you can get out & About.
Take care to you both. 🍻🥂
Hi Bob, we're glad you enjoyed this episode, we're both fine thanks and hope you are. It'll be good to get out on the boat again. All the best, take care.
Mr Alan. Please keep the heritage videos coming. I watch them. I’m sure they will get more views.
Thank you, I intend to, there are several current ones I’m working on, as well as older footage taken years ago.
I am surprised that the Heritage Vlogs are not so well received as I find them excellently researched and presented and of the utmost interest ! Most of them I have an interest in, and there is ALWAYS something to learn !
Interesting about the leaning tower of Burnham !
It seems to happen a lot, apart from the leaning tower of Pisa !
When I was working in Malaysia, in Kuala Lumpur on the Putra LRT Metro, I was always looking at the progressing construction of the Petronas Twin-Towers, as one of my stations was to be directly in front of it {but underground}. I was there from '95 to '98
We noticed one week that construction had been halted, and we found out sometime later that it was because it was being built out of Plumb ! And by the 85th floor it was some distance out of plumb !
Nothing to do with MY station thank goodness !
It was months later that , after extensive investigation, and calculations, they decided that they COULD correct the problem, and did so ! I have to date NOT found out any information on this anomaly !
Interesting to note that in late '97, I was driving past the Towers, {in a typical Malaysian thunderstorm}, when the ball on the top of one of the spires was struck by Lightning. I've NEVER seen SO many sparks, come off a lightning conductor ! But it worked and did it's job !
Stay safe Alan and Sally ! Congratulations on 4 Grandchildren !
Stu xx
Hi Stu, I'm glad you like the heritage vlogs but an inordinate amount of time goes into making them for little interest shown by viewers. Every time I publish any vlog, I lose viewers, I'm five down now on where I was weeks ago. Figures are up and down all the time, I can't make any progress. Thanks for the interesting story about the Petronas Towers and the sparks. All the best, take care.
I enjoy your heritage videos Alan, keep doing what you're passionate about!
That's kind of you to say, thank you, I'm carrying on as usual. Heritage video out later in the week.
Lovely Vlog Alan, took me back to a holiday I had in Burham many years ago, that lighthouse has always stuck in my memory,Shame as you say that your heritage vids arnt as popular as your cruising ones,But I really enjoy them, thanks for sharing
Thank you so much, I’m glad it brought back fond memories. It is disappointing about the heritage side but I intend to carry on, as I do look back on the videos I’ve made over the years. Cheers🤠
Interesting video. Seems Reggie didn't like the sand on his paws. 😊
Alan im enjoying the content of the heritage
Very interesting, please keep them coming. 😊
Thanks Sheila, Reggie wasn’t too keen, as you say. Yesterday I published two mill engines at Bancroft Mill, a great watch, so please take a look 😃
Great video Alan, not been to Burnham lately although I live in Somerset, but I found the video very interesting .
That’s very good of you to say, thank you.
Always interesting Alan thanks for all your hard work. Chris in Devon.
Thanks Chris, kind of you to say. I must find the time to look at your channel, I do look in now and then. Cheers
Interesting video Alan. Just a little extra info for you "Marconi's first wireless message transmitted over sea, from Flat Holm to Lavernock Point near Barry".
Thanks Kenn, and for the titbit on Marconi, who pops up all over the place, especially in Cornwall. Some years back I visited the Lizard Wireless Station in a gloomy mist! Cheers
Enjoyed the vlog, good to see you and Sally getting out and about.
Thanks Hugh, glad you enjoyed watching.
Hi Alan, thanks for the catch up. It’s a shame the weathers been so rubbish that you’ve not been able to take the boat out. It was nice for you and Sally to go to Devon for your grandsons birthday. Burnham on sea was interesting and thanks for showing the footage of your trip to Steep Holm that you had done previously. It was annoying for you that the parts department was closed. Do they not provide an online shop for you, it’s a long drive to go back and forth. Have a great week, take care
Hi Paul, it's disappointing that I've not been out on the boat yet but Spring beckons! I've sourced the electrical fitting now and replaced it. There is an online shop but for standard items not replacement parts. I'm off to see Sally tomorrow, so will definitely have a good week, hope you do too. Cheers

Hi Kat, we too have had a lot of rain, and snow in northern parts. Reggie says woof woof.
Another good video, keep up the good work Alan.
Many thanks Dougie, all the best.
Many thanks Alan, Reggie was not so keen on the sand. bless him. Love that part of the Southwest. Take care.
Thanks for your comment Christine, it’s not so easy for Reggie with his short legs. All the best.
Thank you, Alan and Sally, for sharing with me your day trip to the coast, very enjoyable. I saw my first early Daffodil growing in my local park last week and it really cheered me up knowing that spring can't be far off.. Once again thanks and bye for now. Stephen
Hi Stephen, thank you again for your generosity, it is very much appreciated. I’m pleased Spring is nearly upon us, I’m looking forward to getting out on the boat. All the best, take care and thanks again.
Hi alan you can buy the flap only its a doddle mate. Regards.
I’ve replaced the whole fitting now John. I wouldn’t have wanted to replace just the cover, as it was difficult to open and the reason it was broken. Cheers
The tap looks like a Bristan one, contact them direct for spares.
Hi Mike. My tap handle is made of plastic, so I wasn’t thinking of a quality manufacturer, but from a quick search I have found a Bristan tap that looks very similar. Thanks for that suggestion .
good vid on channel alan thanks lee
Thanks Lee, glad you enjoyed it.
In Swedish holm or holme means small island.👍
That’s exactly the same here, cheers🤠
