This isn’t an America vs Cuba post. It’s just the truth. Cuba is trashed and it’s sad for the people due to their government. I hope they are able to fix it. And yes, some big US cities ran by a certain group of people are trashed as well, but not nearly that bad. If you think they are worse, then it just shows that you’ve never actually been to either place.

I am Cuban and travel there often to see my family. I bring supplies from anything like candy to prescription eye glasses & everything in between. I also send many packages with medicines for the old & children.
This video is very arcuate of the many struggles of the people , but believe it or not most seem to be content. A couple of corrections.
You can book accommodations using a CC but it all has to be done through a 3rd country Mexico , Canada or Spain.
I also bring a MIFI device for internet but I rarely use since I'm there to visit family. Most Cubans do pay for some sort or rent or mortgage. Power is cheap so you will see a lot of electric types of inexpensive transportation.
One of the most impressive things is severe crimes like murder , rape , pedophilia , robberies really don't exists , but it does happen from time to time. Justice is swift.
You notice all the produce? It's the best I've ever tasted in my life , no chemical fertilizers. But you notice no proteins like beef , chicken , fish etc.
You can bring loads of cash but things are very hard to get. No supermarkets or department stores. Well if your not of "The Party".
The people don't talk politics openly but in private they can't understand why a fraction the U.S.A. population want's to become Communist/Socialist. Me either.
I'm one of the lucky ones I got out when I was 5 , I am now 61. Shoot I have Spanish zero accent .
I am grateful to America & God Bless her & keep her safe always.

The buildings in Havana were crumbling before the revolution. The crumbling is just more advanced. This is a testament to how well they were built. The unusable ones just need to be demolished.
The trash needs to be picked up more often to encourage more tourism without the smell of rotting food waste.
Havana is not the only thing in Cuba. You need to see the amazing beauty of the rest of the island.

Super enjoyable video. TY so much for sharing. Not sure why you called it "The CUBA they don't want you to see". I've been to Cuba >15 times and this is just the way it looks in Havana and Santiago. Getting to more rural spots is greener and fresher of course. The cities are crumbling. Everyone sees that all the time. BTW Canadian credit cards work in Cuba and Canadians make up about 40% of tourists - if you are in spots that use credit of course, which is not many. Again, fabulous walking tour of Havana. :)

Great video. There are many comments describing the the wonderful experience of visiting Cuba and the positives taken away from the wonderful people they came across. But it is very different to visit a place versus living there. What we enjoy for a few days would not be the same if we were "stuck" there forever. So that distinction is notable. Also, I have seen images in the United States that look very much like those seen in this video, so it is fair to point that out. However, keep in mind that here in the US, you have a choice to forge a path toward a successful end, so that you do not have to walk next to rubble on your way to work every day. It's true that some don't or won't choose that path, but that's on them. I am not sure what choices the people of Cuba truly have. (Unless they can play baseball). Remember, the wonderful human spirit that defines so many Cubans who make do with what they have, and described in these comments, can also be found in all parts of the world, even in the US, where people can choose to make the best of their situation and strive for their best life. It is important that people everywhere should always have that opportunity, and not left to feel as if they are "stuck on an island".

I went to Cuba to "See For Myself" what is happening there,,!! And I found MANY Canadians having a VERY GOOD vacation, as well as people from all over the world, enjoying Cuba. What you show is exactly what I saw, and they definitely don't want tourists walking around the back streets. I hired an 'Illegal Driver' for $50 a day, to take me around in a tiny Fiat. Every Taxi ride in'na a vintage car, was $20 min, no bargaining, and they stay on the 'Good Roads'. My driver couldn't drive on the good roads because he didn't have the req'd window decal, so i got the back streets. And there are police EVERYWHERE, except in the back streets. They have 2 currencies, The Tourist Peso and the Cuban Peso... So, the "Black Market" and dollar exchange rate is incredible. US has no banking exchange, so you must bring cash for your entire trip, and don't lose it or run out, there is NO WAY to get more and NO using credit cards. BUT, everybody else can use credit cards..!! So, maybe get a Canadian Visa Card..?? We MUST END this senseless embargo and Biden has done ZERO to help Cuba, as most President's, except O'bama lifted the visa restrictions. PLEASE write your elected Senators & Congress Reps, and demand CHANGE. Viva La Cuba... !!

Cuba is a dictatorship that uses terror and propaganda to repress its people. It arrests citizens, deprives them of the most basic human rights, silences them, and confronts families using extortion and threats. The regime's constant practices of illegal imprisonment, the personal destruction of political dissidents and the limitation of fundamental rights have nothing to do with any blockade or embargo, but everything to do with the totalitarian communist dictatorship.
All the propaganda that tries to cover up the Cuban dictatorship is based on two lies: the non-existent “embargo” and the alleged excellent “public health”.
Cuba only suffers from one embargo: that of the dictatorship against its people, which limits the import of food, medicine, the use of the internet and the freedom to travel. We saw the evidence this week, when the regime “temporarily lifted” restrictions on food and medicine imports.
Dismantling the lie about the so-called excellent Cuban public services is easy. Just go to Cuba to see.
The healthcare system that the regime advertises so much is a bankrupt and dilapidated system that only provides quality service to wealthy foreigners and the regime's leaders. Cuba suffers from “the most expensive free healthcare in the world”, as I was told in Havana.
The myth of healthcare quality has been debunked many times. María Werlau, from the NGO Archivo Cuba (Cuba Archive), explained that “health in Cuba is terrible for ordinary citizens. There is an apartheid that favors the ruling elite and foreigners who pay in dollars”, and it has been demonstrated that “the Cuban health system lacks transparency and capacity”. Its health policies have not only not yielded good results, but also limit patients' basic rights; “It’s hardly a model to follow.”
Anyone who travels to Cuba can see that the oft-repeated “non-existence of child malnutrition” that some say UNICEF shows is a lie and only masks a regime that still uses ration cards and poverty as tools to keep the population under its boots. .
However, UNICEF never stated that Cuba had ended child malnutrition, but that the “incidence of underweight children fell to 4%”, a record that was beaten by Costa Rica and Chile, for example, which reached 1% . “Tracking Progress in Child and Maternal Nutrition: A Survival and Development Priority” (UNICEF, November 2009, p. 102 et seq.) Clearly shows how other countries have done significantly better than Cuba.
The real data on infant mortality is twice the official figure and much worse than in countries like Chile or Costa Rica, according to studies (for example, “Infant Mortality in Cuba: Myth and Reality”, by Roberto M. Gonzalez).
The embargo myth is even more hilarious. The non-existent embargo is a lie that serves as a pretext to cover up the dictatorship.
Cuba's international trade to GDP was 27 percent of GDP in 2020, compared to, for example, Brazil's, which is 32 percent. Its exports represent 14.5% of GDP, compared to 16% in Brazil (World Bank data).
The United States is Cuba's ninth largest trading partner, with 3% of imports. Cuba has more than twenty-seven bilateral treaties with more than ninety countries and exports to Canada (22 percent), China (21 percent), Venezuela (13 percent), Spain (11 percent), the Netherlands (7 percent) percent), Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Cyprus (2 percent each) and France (1 percent), among others (Cuban Statistical Office, 2020 ed.).
US food and agricultural exports to Cuba increased 74.7% in March 2021, an annualized increase of 54.3% (Cuba Trade).
Cuba, in turn, imported in 2020 from Venezuela (oil at cost or free), China, Spain, Russia, Mexico, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, the United States and Germany, among others. Nice “embargo”!
The only thing Cuba has is an embargo on items that the dictatorial regime uses for military purposes.
What the left hides about the embargo: the embargo was implemented in 1958 under the Batista regime to limit arms sales. The 1960 embargo on U.S. exports to Cuba did not include food or medicine. Since 2000, there has not been any type of embargo on United States exports, whether of food or medicine.
More than ninety North American multinationals have exported to Cuba since 2001. Since 2014, sixty North American companies have operated directly in Cuba (Cuba Trade Economic Council)
Cuba exported US$14.9 million worth of goods to the United States and imported US$176.8 million in 2020, according to the American State Department. Imports and exports to China are also particularly important.
The United States is the largest supplier of food and agricultural products to Cuba, according to the State Department, with exports of these products valued at US$220.5 million in 2018.

I really enjoyed watching this video, I couldn't help but notice what good physical condition the people in Cuba seem to be, but I also didn't see a lot of smiles. Thanks for the tour it's the first time I've ever really seen Cuba.

Because they don't eat processed crap, they have a lot of sun, they help each other despite their poor existence. And they love music and dancing. Greetings from Poland to the Cubans! :)

My suggestion, as a cuban who left Havana many years ago. When you're filming the streets (great take!) Please take a moment and pause to show the name of the street. For instance, my street was Lealtad (centro Habana), it will be very helpful for those who left and never returned.

Is this the result of the American blockade on Cuba?
USA seems to be a real democracy and freedom.
Unless someone else wants to do it in an other way.

Ese es el plan orquestado desde el gobierno cubano, mantener al pueblo sumiso y hambriento para que no se subleve.
