Great video Luke. I've fished Mooney a few times up the left further on the bend a deep hole. Take the boat next time and explore. Pile creek runs into the river up the left near the bend. Bream flathead bass and jew.
Hey mate just found your channel and have to say loving them, just wondering can you recommend any free camping spots on the hawkesbury for boat access only. Thanks again mate.
Good vidaye Happy you picked up the target species too. If you go to the corner (left) there's a 7m hole that can produce. Like your camper setup, looks comfy. Tight lines 🎣
Very interesting view of remote spots young man, great as usual, getting yourself all set up for the big adventure & exciting times ahead Don’t dream about it just do it I say
Nice vid mate, makes we wanna take out the old cruiser and spend a night down there like that. Usually just run the boat down a juno and bar point but that looks like a nice relaxing day for me and the fam. Didn't seem like much traffic passing at all so yea. Also......hate the pikey eels, they always a pain in the ass cos we don't eat them and you basically gotta cut the line off most of the time....same with the damn stingrays. It all evens out when you finally get those nice big jewies tho or some great bream.
Hey Hunter! Love your videos! And your cook ups!! Are you considering heading south when you embark on your journey in the near future? A mate of mine told me about your channel, we live on the south coast near Kiama. We would love to meet with you and go fishing together if you were interested. You could even stay at my place for a few nights if you’d like. Anyway Hunter, I’ll leave it with you. You’re awesome mate and we love your videos and your knowledge of fishing! If you ain’t fishin you’re wishin!!
Thankyou so much 🤝 I think I be leaving north first but I don’t think I will beat the wet season so I may head north then south. Who knows the world is my oyster. I would love to fish with my subscribers from all over the country. My videos are always up to date so you will know when I’m heading your way! See you on the next adventure brother 🤙
Interesting and something different! The brush turkey was hilarious 🤣 About those eels: are they just not tasty or just too much hassle to process? Just thinking of how delicious for example Japanese grilled eels are (unagi), if our ones were edible there'd be a fair meal on each one!
It was very different style video to my normal, I enjoyed the whole process ( I hope you did to). I hear they are very good eating Japanese style. I just find them very hard to handle. I think they hang them to dry a bit, makes it easier to clean them
Hi mate, I think those eels might be Hairtails. Which are actually a fish despite their appearance. I've caught them in the Hawkesbury River before, and they're actually good eating. Great video, I have often wondered what that spot would be like. You've answered my questions. Thank You.👍
Was fishing Mooney ck further downstream from there about 15 years ago at night hoping for a Jew. Got a tremendous hit and reeled in a 2 m version of that pike eel. First thought it was a Jew then as it came closer a hair tail but alas it was a pike eel. Got it in the boat. Bad mistake! It tried to eat me! Managed to dehook it and wrangle it over the side not knowing what it was until I got home and researched it. Their advice was cut the line don’t bring into boat. Good advice !
Cool vid mate...my sons fish up there a fair bit. Top spot but gets a bit boggy That first one looked like a hairtail ? Just started watching your channel in December and love it mate. I live on Brisbane Water so really enjoy some of your favourite spots as well. Cheers
Thankyou mate 🤝 I agree makes it achievable for everyone. I’m heading north first but the wet season may beat me. I may go north then south planning on living in car within 2mths leaving by July fingers crossed. See you on the next one 🤙

Gday mate would you be able to help us out with places to camp via boat only access preferred free on the hawkesbury, been watching your post for a couple weeks now and loving your content.
There is a a lot of council pay sites around the river. Unfortunately there is no free camping anymore it’s more you got to find a hidden spot where no one can find you. I call it pirate camping my favourite style 😂
Seen Mooney Mooney bridge so jumped straight on the video fished under the main bridge big flattys there. Especially down near the rail road bridge some nice jewies down there
Memancing dari bawah jembatan dalam cuaca yang dingin dan hujan Dapat tangkapan yang sangat bagus.. Sebuah video memancing yang sangat menghibur Sukses selalu saudaraku 🙏🙏🙏
i used to run a big fridge but now have 2x45lt. 2 smaller is way better in my expirience. i have a ute tho and run 1 off solar battery and the other off the dual car batteries
I did get suggested that at start unfortunately the big one was half price 😂 it does make sense can isolate one if low on power. Next time I will get 2 45s
It wasn't an eel. It's a Hairtail. Use a hessian bag to rub the silver off then you can eat them. Not my favourite though. I used to feed them to the ducks. Then I'd eat the ducks.
Talking about bridges and always looking for an episode to do? You've seen the kingfish under the harbour bridge and off the wharves. MIND BLOWING, Kiss our ass New York, London, Tokyo etc.
@@huntersfishingadventures5324 There's under the icon, the wharves with the bridge and opera hose in a thumbnail and the harbour itself, all heavy duty stuff, all great and CLEAN/safe to eat fish. It's non-clickbait, thumbnail city too.
I got to meet one of the fellas what lived up in the caravan. He was rough but he stopped for a chat seemed ok definitely gave me gypsy don’t f with me vibes 😳
The caravan bloke living there got booted out by his misses on the corner, he was up for a friendly chat when I was there, I have fished there for many years
I heard a fella went 480 km an hour over that bridge in a nissan patrol.
Yeah his name is Peter Goodridge from Raymond Terrace Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
That's BS....it was walking on its back wheels.
😂😂😂😂
Yeah it was the short wheel base as well

Awesome content. Are there mud crabs in that location?
Yes 👍

M1 nrth side of bridge carpark you can walked thru the inside of the bridge from 1 side to the other

Mate I've got this feeling someone's going to try fishing there and go home with a bush turkey for dinner.
O I hope not! he was the most friendly turkey I have ever seen we kinda made a bond 😂
@@huntersfishingadventures5324 I hear ya mate, but you know the world we live in there's some weirdo's out there for sure.
Fished the Hawkesbury Christmas for 4 day landed 8 big hairtail and lost many rigs 👍👍
Good old Aussie outdoors bro.
Those eels looked like Hairtail.
Not a hairtail but I see where you are coming from.
@daniellarge9784 You are right, there not Hairtails, I think there called Pike Eels.
Ive seen fallow deer under that bridge
Your first catch looked like a Hair Tail eel…
I’ve always wondered what it looked like down there
Now we all know 😂 see you on the next one 🤙
I think your eel is a Hairtail.
It's actually a brush turkey, not bush Love your vudeos.
I think there’s 3 names scrub turkey, brush and bush depends what area you from. Thankyou mate
Should be putting that eel in the smoker😊
Pretty sure that was a Hairtail
Yes, it was
Both wrong. It's a pike eel 💯
last time i was on the mooney mooney bridge i got over taken by a nissan patrol doing 480kms a hour
Long finned eels of that length would be much heavier and have 3x times the fight. They may well have been what was biting you off.
eel is really really good smoked
i used to run a big fridge but now have 2x45lt. 2 smaller is way better in my expirience. i have a ute tho and run 1 off solar battery and the other off the dual car batteries

I don't think they where ells, I think they might of been hair tail.

I caught 55 of them dam it 😂🤣
the best bait in a crab pot is a can of catfood
Had my foot chomped by one of those common pike eels 😂
Dam I can’t imagine it ended well 😂

They're pike eels mate. Longfin and shortfin eels don't have any sharp teeth. More like serrated pads.
Thankyou for the info 👍
........leaves mate, you put leaves on your burger,...........nah, iceberg or nothing...........lolol..........
😂
I think you threw back a hairtail!!!
I hope not 😂 not enough chrome I still remember my first one I caught it looked the colour of aluminium foil. Tasted delicious 😋
epic
Not an eel but a hairtail

That eel looks more like a Hairtail. I could be wrong.
Mulloway is for Western States 😂. Jewfish is NSW. Imo.
I Need that info for when I travel 🤙
They look like Hairtail not eel
Dirty old pike eels hate them things.
River is full of parramatta eels! Yuck..
One of the first things we are taught. "Don't feed the wildlife"
Unless you are feeding them Led.
I’m was investing in my Christmas dinner 😂 you sir are correct don’t encourage the wildlife 👍
It’s a natural scavenger I’m sure it’s going to be fine…. It was probably doing it hard in the rain…
Its a brush turkey they are scabs of the bush anyway luke did absolutely nothing wrong here
Pike eel ?
Don't wanna eat bush turkeys. They taste like koala 🤮
The eel was a hairtail. Fab eating. Handle with care :)
