I was a console gamer for about 34yrs... from NES all the way up to PS4 Pro w/added badass SSD and PSVR v2. I always wanted to build myself a gaming PC. Then 2yrs ago I had the $ sitting around so I finally did it. Haven't even taken my PS4 out of storage since then. The biggest thing I've missed is the VR experience... it really is like nothing else. But I never could justify spending the $ for another VR rig strictly for PC, knowing that a perfectly good PSVR is zipped up in its case, all ready to go. I knew there was software out there to bridge the gap between my PC and the PSVR proprietary hardware, but I haven't had the motivation to try it out. But just recently, I've gotten into flight sims- MSFS 2020, IL-2, and DCS. So now I've got the iVRy software for Steam, and Trinus PSVR trial version. I'm gonna hook it up right now and see what works - I'll try to remember to come back here and follow up with a comment about my experience. (GPU = EVGA RTX2060 KO) Great video Will, thanks buddy! 🍻
Thanks for letting me know about iVRy, I got my PSVR to run with Steam VR, which I could never achieve with Trinus. But PC gaming is still not a great experience, I spent more time configuring and troubleshooting than actually trying a few titles. All the reasons why I chose console VR back in 2018. I'll try again when PSVR2 is unlocked on PC maybe.
Nice to hear about this software a little! I was introduced to it recently after going on a software hunt for a couple weeks regarding some USB option that bypasses Oculus on the Quest 2. To hear that it jitters for PSVR as well seems to indicate that it's "expected behavior" from the program, which sucks a little. I never tried Trinus, but I did try Vridge just for it to fail. Quite a shame overall. Ivry seems like a nice software option (Specially due to its "fair" price) for some headset being unused though. That, or picking up one if a good deal appears.
I also use my PSVR headset on my xbox 360 Kinect . it makes a giant screen. perfect for Dance central and the star wars pod racing on the Star war kinect game
Worth noting that Trinus is mainly meant for nonVR games, as it applies a conversion to turn flat games into an immersive experience. The advantage of this is that you get immediate access to a massive library of games (from the last 30 years, Dooms, Half-Lifes, GTAs, basically any fps) and you don't need extra setup/hardware for controllers. It will also work on non VR ready PCs, and you can even play emulated classics like Rogue Squadron or Mario Kart: ruclips.net/video/rDvMrlgC_P4/видео.html

Hi there. Thanks so much for the video, I set it up, and did manage to get it working. However, the colours in the headset seem really washed out, there is streaking, and it seems to lag. Any thoughts what I can do about this, especially about the colours and sharpness?
For me I am considering this because of among us vr. It was going to be on PlayStation according to the first trailer but it’s not on the store, maybe that version was scrapped.
I have a problem with rec room. When i start it it shows on the vr but there is an issue with the visualization. I see everything like it's only one monitor when to see perfectly it should have 2 monitors
tried ivry with this system: psvr1 (v2), i5 6500T, 16gb dual channel, intel hd530 (integrated graphics), 2xDisplayports latest intel graphics drivers (31...) I can enter steamVR 2.3.5, and look around in the room, but if I try to launch a game i get the red screen. I can play games in the bigscreen in the room, but just that.
Thank you for this. Though I agree with you suggesting people pick up the Quest 2, want to at least mention thaat there have been a lot of issues lately with Quest 2 users not being able to connect to their PC via Air Link or Type C/USB 3.0 Cable due to a conflict with their GPU. I've had the Quest 2 since April of '21, was able to play Steam games using just a GTX 970, recently "upgraded" to an AMD RX 6500 XT (yeah, my mistake), passed the Steam VR Performance test with flying colors, but now I just get 3 dots (Quest version of beachball) with no image at all. Hopefully this temporary fix will work and I can get back to PC games.
They both have free versions to try out, so I would recommend trying them out, seeing which one performs better (or if it works at all), then purchasing based on your testing. I will say that iVRy was my preference, as I couldn't get TrinusVR to work.
