Well terrible choice if you want a true vr on pc. There are better and cheaper products called Mixed Reality Headsets.

it was sort of a pain to set up but i mean you've done it many times before so you know what you were doing but after your done setting it up your good to go some games work better than others though and the fact that you cant move your head forwards and backwards is also a pain but there are some games that are work flawlessly

Honestly, it is only a USB 2.0 connector anyway, so it really won't make a difference. The extra contacts aren't in the cable to take advantage of any speed boost from the USB 3.0 port. It is a basic USB Micro connector that only has 5 internal contacts as well, power, ground, data +/-, and a contact for wither it is host or not.

PSVR is just such an amazing VR headset ! its insane how much stuff we can do with it on PC ! and still use it on my PS4 and play all the PS4 exclusives that are not available anywhere else! The best of both worlds !

I didn't know the PSVR even had to rotational sensors built in, I thought it was all tracking from the PSeye for the PS4.
The PSVR headset has built in gyroscopes which work perfectly for rotational position without any camera at all. Thanks for watching!

For those who may still struggle with Wrong monitor issues.
I've got two monitors. One is 1920*1200 another 1920*1080 but vertically oriented.
So yeah..there was some weird shit first.
What helped.
Yes, to run both Steam and Trinus as Admin is crucial. Even if your security settings are already set as admin.
Only after I realized I forgot to do that it started to open Steam VR on the helmet screen.
Before it was ok to run vr as another desktop, even ok for 3d videos. But steam vr rendered the picture only on the second monitor, not VR. Even if the Red/Brown area was on the helmet desktop.
The second thing is you better move your PSVR monitor to the far right.
And lastly, you need to check if your PSVR display is set in Trinus correctly, I've noticed that sometimes after restart it just drops it to -- value.
So now after all these actions, when I start steam VR it natively starts on Helmet screens and there's no need in Win-Shiftright dances.
Maybe some of these actions are redundant, but still)

Hello, thanks for this awesome tutorial, you mention that some games are ready to go and can be played without anything extra. Where I can find a list of games that are compatible with PSVR without accessories? I mean without adding extra sensors, just the PSVR, no cameras, etc.

I wanted to leave a comment as I had an issue using a newer version of Trinus etc.
I would get a red screen after the initial image.
I needed to :
1. Use the mouse and left click the stereoscopic display (headset display)
2. Using the keyboard press Window key + P and switch to duplicate screen.
Windows + shift+Arrow didn't work but then again I did use this function before making the above changes.
Hope this helps others, just need to get the motion controllers working..

For those of you attempting to download steam VR in the app but it just says "english language not suported", download directly from the website instead, it will bypass this error.

Hi, can you make a video , of psvr looking through lenses? What you see when connected and what you see when playing, but a direct vidro through lenses.
I've looked everywhere and the only setup for PSVR to PC use the old VR headset. It's pretty much the same but doesn't work for me on my V2 headset. Everytime I try to set it up I just get black screen on my PSVR and windows doesn't even recognise it as a second screen. If i set it up as normal by outputing the signal from my laptop to the PS4 input on the back of the vrbox, then plug in both the VR cables on the front that feed the headset. So it's effectively outputing the display from laptop to the vrbox (just as it would from PS4), then out from the vrbox to the headset. The USB cable also plugs from the vrbox into the laptop (just as it would from PS4). The only output I leave blank is the output to TV from the vrbox. Doing this works perfectly well and I can look around and see whats on the laptop through the headset. I just want to play some 3D videos on my headset from my laptop but struggling a bit.

So you are able to get into the room setup and when you get to the Calibrate Floor step the button doesn't work? That is strange... is Trinus running and the headset is detected? Perhaps you can try using the SteamVR Beta version, it usually solves these types of issues. Thanks for watching!
If you get the error that psvr cannot be found (make sure its on error code), try plugging the usb cord into a usb 2.0 port instead of usb 3.0, it worked for me.

I got it to work, thanks for putting this video together. Worth a sub just for explanations and step-by-step instructions. My OG ps4 doesn't hold a candle to my 9700k/2080, everything looks so much better!! THIS is why I got a VR headset.

I know this is stupid, but have you tried switching USB 3.0 ports? Or even tried a 2.0 port instead? Have you also checked the cable itself, and/or that the headset is turned on?

If you have one show up on the headset only like apps any everything to your headset via 2 hdmi
Go to display settings and select duplicate both displays and it should work.

Found this advice in the comments, don't use Trinus, just use iVRy. You can download it on Steam. Worked perfectly for me thankfully since Trinus wasn't working no matter how many times I fiddled with it.

Use an adapter for your monitor; there are VGA to HDMI adapters around that you could use

I've been trying this for a few months now and I still have an issue where my game isn't duplicated on each of the psvr screens, instead I am seeing one image across both eyes.

I am running Trinus on Win 7, I have my PSVR connected to a Gtx 1070, drivers are installed. And I can't get a picture on the headset, whatever I try.
Monitors are set to 1920x1080 and to expanded, but when I try to switch the VR window to the headset, the "double window" stays on the main monitor and turns red, while on the headset there is no picture at all. I would be very greateful for any ideas.
Edit: Okay, clarification. The headset definitely shows the desktop and when I use Shift-Win-Right Arrow, then things get switched to the headset. I can switch a browserwindow etc with no problems at all. But switching the "headset window" over just doesn't work.

Hi there, Had the same problem but found this online and it worked! "Hello I just seemed to have fixed this issue. I also have a AMD video card. I found that while in the Radeon software there is option for radeon additional setting's... to get there open up the Radeon Setting's and then click on preferences in the lower left corner. Once there the fist option is for radeon additional setting's.... Once in radeon additional setting's find pixel format and change it too 4.4.4 PC Full PC RGB this fixed it for me. Good Luck"

When I start the Trinus program, my PSVR screen blows up, so when I open SteamVR, the screen is zoomed into one half of the split screen, which obviously doesn’t work. The PSVR screen stays blown up until I uninstall the Trinus drivers and restart my PC. But once I start the program, it just does it again. Does anyone know what this issue is?

Gave it a try but I couldn't get it to work. Same for the PSVR emulator that's available on Steam. Guess I'll stick to using the PSVR on my PS4 then :s
I did everything as he told me to do. And when i open steamvr it goes red for some reason. when i click on it it goes to normal but when i SHIFT + WINDOWS + Right it doesn't turn it to my headset.....

I successfully connect PSVR for STEAMVR by following your tutorial. However, there is some motion blur/constant shake (very minor shaking)/ wobble that makes me feel nauseous
However, such wobble/bury cannot be felt if I use PSVR for PS4. Is there any way to fine tune the problems~? Thank you for your help!
Make sure that you calibrate your gyros as perfectly as possible before starting everything up. It is possible that your PC may be having a hard time keeping up with the PSVR. I recommend running Razer Cortex and using Game Booster. Really speeds things up on my PC. Thanks for watching!

Yes it does work with newer vr. I just set mine up. And you don’t need a camera unless you’re using the move controllers

In trinus, where the headset display is tick the box that says Force Set Display, if that doesnt work, leave it on and switch the display

It is extremely frustrating to get it to work.
Also with starting up games SteamVR constantly asks to switch back and forth between extended and direct modes.

Hey James! Is there any chance you'll do a new video for the updated Trinus!? mine seems very diferent to the one you show.. with some diferent options and stuff! for example after calibrating it automaticaly Starts SteamVR, witch means you cant start it with "run as administrator".
plus im having a lot of red screens, no matter what i do! i need to click with the mouse and sometimes it gets really annoying..
there also seems to be a problem for the specific game i want to play.. raceroom VR! the mouse doesnt move! any tip? you played a couple of racing games.. what about raceroom?

I'm using Trinus but still get the Red. my SteamVR is also telling me to make it a direct display rather than recognised as a monitor on the pc too so I think that has to do with it

Hmmm... that is strange. By default, Project Cars should support VR natively. Check your settings and make sure you are running in VR mode. Do you see a stereoscopic display when it launches on the monitor?

hmmm... I haven't tried Project Cars on the PC before but is there an option in the settings to put it into VR mode? Or maybe within the Steam settings?

It may be possible that your graphics card is not compatible with the PSVR or perhaps you need to manually check for it in your device manager. What video card are you using and what version of Windows are you on?
Same thing happens with me, doesn't recognize or detect another display... I'm on windows 10, my gpu is a EVGA 1060 6 Gig

Hay just got my PSVR and followed this video. Got everything setup right. However I have fallen at the last hurdle. When I press SHIFT + Windows + Right noting happens. If I look into the VR display I can see my desktop and on my TV is the Steam VR room thing. Any idea how to get this working?

+ocelot20 Not sure why that is not working for you... use the Alt + TAB shortcut and make sure the compositor is the active application before using the Shift + Windows + Right shortcut.
I have the same issue. I'm on Win7 64bit. THis is huge issue that I can't find answers for
i might have a fix for you, i had the same problem and spent hours on this but i found the fix and its the dumbest thing ever, if you have a gaming keyboard(logitech ones tend to have this more) like me you should have a button for macros and so on but there is also a button that disactivates the windows key mine was on and it just didnt work flipping that button to off should fix your problem hope it helps
I don't see what button your talking about. Where is it on the keyboard?
