- This is a brief description and unboxing of the Mityvac MV8500, which creates pressure and vacuum. I think this is a decent pump, I do like it very much. It is smooth to the touch and rigid (well made exterior). This was my original video review I posted on Amazon. I hope my content was helpful in making your decision.

These are junk, the switch on them is mounted to a weak plastic shaft ,tried using it once to bleed brakes and it just ended up inducing air into the system, put it away for a few years and when i went to use it again the switch was seized.
I do agree with you to a certain point, after using it for a while I had issue with the pin holding the handle keeps coming off which really was so disappointing, I had to modify it, Mityvac supposed to be good company but I really don't know what happened to lots of those company, it seems they are no longer have American engineers in China supervising quality control. I agree with you; tools and equipment aren't made like they used to be. Everything seems cheap nowadays. The trigger pin on my Mityvac keeps coming off with more use, which is really frustrating. I was excited when I first got it because it felt sturdy and smooth, but the quality control turned out to be poor. What's wrong with the one you have?
