I guess no Masters Salute since it was so early in the morning. Nice little boat. I remember cruising on an old fashioned cruise ship about this size in the early 80s. A very enjoyable experience compared to one of the traveling cities that pass for cruise ships today.
This ship must not share her gps location regularly. I'm always looking for her on marinetraffic, can never find her, and then boom, she's going through the harbor!
Not on this ship since it’s the one one they use in Antartica. However, everyone of those square windows opens; driven by motors controlled by you. Open a maximum 1/2 way. Fantastic views while staying warm inside.
It is fascinating to know that Bronze Age weaponry was made from Great Lakes copper. The Minoan Civilization (Crete, Santorini) conducted mining operations and sent the copper down the Mississippi River to the Gulf. It is believed that the Trojan War was fought in armour and weapons from Great Lakes copper. The Ojibwe and Chippewa tribes share similar genetic markers with the Minoans. This region has been the "arsenal of democracy" for thousands of years!
Uh… yeah maybe. Not impossible sure, but pretty sure that’s the plot to a historical fiction book no offense… would love it to be true though, would be very cool
If I remember correctly from a trip to Lake Superior some years ago, there is evidence of Viking mining activity from many centuries ago when they were purposely (by this, I mean not simply exploring) traveling around the globe, including what we know now as North America. I find it easy to believe that other early people also knew about and exploited the copper resources of that area. There is more unwritten history than there is written history and humans have always wanted to travel beyond the horizon!
Very beautiful morning for the cruise ship to arrive. Last visit it was rainy and foggy. Love hearing the radio chatter too. Thanks for sharing.
It's great to hear the radio traffic.
Hey again, Viking Octanis!! Good Day to her Crew! 🍀
Cheers from Germany : - ) I think this is the second arrival within a short period of time.
Yeah she’ll probably come once a month or so this year
@@jonathanellsworth21 Thanks for answering, Jon.
A very beautiful and majestic ship.
Beautiful ship!
Much nicer morning this time than on her first visit 🌅!
I saw it parked right outside Park Point Marina
Neat seeing the bridge come down
And a mad rush of fishing boats as she clears the canal!
Love videos like this.
Wow.
CHEERS from Colorado
The view is picture perfect
Now that's an interesting looking vessel.
She's beautiful! And what a fine day it was for her arrival!
So nice to see cruise ships back on the lakes!
Did you see the sunrise today too?! Can you make a video of that along with the ship arrival? What a beautiful day!
Nice sized ship for cruising. I didn't realize this one had been to the Arctic till now.
Was on this ship in late Feb early March in Antartica. Fantastic ship. Very different than Vikings “Ocean” ships.
Absolutely gorgeous. 🥰

Wow, great-looking sunrise, great-looking ship/boat(?).
A boat large enough to carry other boats is traditionally considered a ship. Unless you’re on the lakes, and we’ll argue about that all day long 😉
This ship was off the shore of Frankfort MI a week ago
Digging the old school Dreadnought bow of one hundred and twenty years ago...
Are the cruise ship coming back to Duluth harbor again for spring season
Is this maintained to the lake’s?
Whoa.
So I see only 2 lifeboats on each side? Will there be anywhere near that capacity (378 AND the crew?)

My dream was always to take a cruise out of Minnesota. Very similar to Tahiti and cheaper.
No captain's salute?
Does anyone know where she's coming from and then where she's going?
She was in thunder bay,,don't know where she's headed
#cottoneyejoe
I heard Houghton Michigan! We’ll see!
I heard Bayfield was the next stop
I live in Frankfort, MI and saw as rather large ship out a ways a few days ago. I am wondering if it could have been this ship and it was headed North
Cheers from Colorado #2 😂
Ha ha, Avs, #3
Greetings from the Netherlands
For a 5-figure fare, shouldn't you like get a balcony?

👍👊😎
Not many passengers up n about at 5:45
It's because they are still sleeping
Better than on a foggy day
That's the same ship

What? No horns or chimes? WTF

Where did you learn this?

A super expensive ship to cruise on.
