Fair play, it takes some bollocks putting that up, everyone messes up and all your near misses are just luck it were a miss! Some people forget this though and have a dig at others, I just tend to feel sorry for them, be glad it wasn't me! But we've all been there!
I have a great deal of respect for this approach. Raising awareness of an incident such as this one that could potentially happen again to someone else is very important. When things go wrong it is never a good thing, but it can be an opportunity to learn from them and improve safety for everyone.
Accidents/incidents happen thankfully the only thing that was hurt was the operator's pride. I'm sure it's taken a lot of guts to share this thank you.
Thank you for putting this video up. It highlights what can and did happen. Hopefully others will watch and learn. Its good that it was just the operators pride that was hurt. People are too quick to judge. But it was an accident. We have all had them over the years. As well as near misses. They are a learning curve in life.
I’ve made a point since hearing of this last summer to make sure all obstacles. Poles trees etc are mapped on the gps so it alerts me when I’m getting close. Never be too careful.
A little tip, always map your fields including tree's, drain cover's and phylon's then auto steer knows where obstructions and the end of the field is, yes I know it takes time but once done it can save you from situations like this.
A lot of cars nowadays have auto braking systems to stop them crashing into person in front. How hard can it be to install them on to a tractor, it seems like something that has been totally over looked.
what was the other task the operator was focusing on reading the paper or having a snooze? Just shows that even with advances in technology it doesn't all ways go as planned
How didn't he see it.. dont make sence, probably on his phone

The point is he had the accident because auto steer allows you to not always be looking forward

Hope it was only pride that was hurt. Thanks for sharing. Just shows that no mater how great technologies are we still need be vigilant as operators
I wouldn't update to next swath headland steering! Isn't there a function to add pits and dangers onto your gps there always use to be
Opps...its happens glad all is safe and no one was hurt 🤓
