      Unfortunately, misconceptions about nonverbal cues to deception are widespread. The general public holds popular beliefs (The Global Deception Research Team, 2006), unfounded or discredited claims are disseminated on social media and television, and pseudoscientific claims, that is, unfounded or discredited claims presented explicitly or implicitly as having scientific value, are promoted in manuals and seminars (Denault et al., 2015, 2020, Denault et al., submitted).

      Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. It would have been nice to hear from him about what he had done for his son’s Detachment disorder and what the family was dealing with. Unfortunately, the Judge did not allow information about the Minor’s mental health issues, so I don’t know how much he would be able to share with the jury about his son’s behaviors.
      Let’s hope Ronin gets life long mental health care for his Disorder, and therapy for the dysfunctional treatment he endured for most of his life. I truly wish him well!!⚖️☮️🙏🏻🍀

      II hadn't even thought about it, but this is so true!! As a parent you would do anything for your child. Going to jail for 24 months (not even considering what he did) so it would spare your child from the harm, pain and shame caused by a lawsuit, was the very least he could do for his own child. But it's ok, karma is doing its job. The entire world can see now what a horrible person he is and his punishment will undoubtedly be much harsher

      Also physically because they were not feeding him right or giving him sunlight regularly either. Our brains need certain vitamins and minerals and enough protein and sunlight to function properly. This child's brain was being deprived of what he physically needed to even think through his impulsive feelings to act out. These parents did this to him long term in Arizona too, so his brain was deprived long term. They sabotaged his brain by how they fed him, so that he could not have self reflection or self control, in addition to provoking anger in him that built up over the years. That is also long term physical abuse and neglect on top of long term mental and emotional abuse. These parents are narcissists and have no conscience, or they never could have continued to do this long term. This was not a mistake, or they would not have done this more than a day or 2, and guilt would have set in, and then they would have found professional help for him. They both deserve prison for this.

    These parents are sadists and sociopaths. They were overwhelmed with raising their adopted son and decided to take the law into their own hands. It is a crime against children. They did not choose to go see a professional for children nor accept professional help but preferred to punish their adopted son and dehumanize him. If the judge lets these parents go free and does not sanction them with a prison sentence, the message will be that parents are free to do what they want with their children and to consider them as their personal objects. You can tell the dad was getting sadistic pleasure from abusing and dehumanising the boy. He's never truly known love. He's known, verbal and physical abuse, labor camp treatment, isolation, torment, hunger, and incarceration. It's horrific, and they need to pay for treating him like a mortal enemy instead of a child they claimed to want and swore to love and protect.

These parents seem to have enjoyed abusing this child!! He was kept in a closet while the room was being built - he never had his own bedroom but the other three younger siblings did? This child saying he forgives has known nothing else - if he is in a loving home and gets the care and love he deserves - he will finally realize what really happened to him. These parents don't belong with children RF may have saved his siblings lives. OMGEEE the defense showed THREE HOURS of happy times one time in a kitchen last time I was in my kitchen there are knives - he seemed to get along well with his siblings - ugh I can go on and on and on - these parents are done! This is TF trial and I can't stand to even look at his face - he turned down a DEAL - no one or anything will ever get through to this kind of person - he thinks he is right and hopefully the jury shows him different even if he won't get it even then! The dad is a narcissist. He thinks he’s above needing help. Folks who think this is acceptable should try living it for a month. All of it. The dark. No A/C. Being screamed at. Nothing to do. A pot. Peanut butter sandwiches. No communication. No TV or books. No fresh air. Separated from family.

    IDGAF what that child did YOU don’t parent the child like you yourself are a monster bully all aggressive and despising the child thinking you are parenting! Placing a child with special needs in a box like that small room will only exacerbate the situation tenfold like a pressure cooker that child will explode! These bullying parents don’t deserve to be parents! Prison that Dad let’s see if he’s a “tough guy”! Makes me sick listening to it as I was bullied in HS and lemme tell you That’s Exactly what it sounds like sadistic berating mimicking you A Bully Monster! Get that child away from them both asap

    If the kid behaved badly it's justified. Who wouldn't go crazy if you most of the time were locked in a small and often dark room. That sociopatic, sadistic monster is horrible and the money he whines about is paid by the government and he would still have spare money as the kid didn't even get food most of the time. I hope he gets a long long sentence.

    Lego Head is easy to read, he’s a vile specimen who obviously has anger issues. The prosecution left no stone unturned and in my opinion couldn’t do anything more. A fascinating case and I hope justice is served. Him not taking the stand speaks volumes and his silence is deafening! Guilty on all counts. Vinnie fantastic as always and the lady expert was brilliant, love from the UK 🇬🇧👍🏼

    I measured out an 8'x8' section in my living room as I sit here watching this. MIND-BLOWING that it's actually as small as it is. My damn bathroom is bigger than that tiny room the kid was couped up in for hours every day. I know he was given a twin size mattress to sleep on. That would BARELY fit in an 8'x8' area. It wouldn't fit with a box spring and frame.
    The young man had to stay in that room until he was 14, right? I say sentence the father to 14 years in an 8'x8' cell. Alone.

    I'm surprised that the professionals didn't mention that the boy's actions like looking up ways to kill someone on railroad tracks, etc, spoke to his frustrations and looking for ways out of the trap of misery he was in. Hitting dog with bike...lashing out at something because he couldn't do anything about the monsters who were abusing him.

    Vinnie keeps saying the father accused of keeping son in a box. It’s proven that he did it. Why do we keep saying accused? Why aren’t we saying the man who kept his son in a box?

    • @jeanag3279

      In the U.S., every person accused of a crime is is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Thus, until a judge or jury finds the person's guilt has been established beyond a reasonable doubt, the person should be referred to as "the accused".

    • @Lifewithpersians
      @Lifewithpersians 8 месяцев назад

      thanks for explaining how it works in the US as far as crimes go lol. I was born here. that doesn't negate that we see regardless of Tim being found guilty of abuse or not, the boy lived in the box. We see it so that point is no longer alleged. agree to disagree. blessings

    • @jeanag3279
      @jeanag3279 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@Lifewithpersians I agree with you that based on what I have seen, this man is guilty. But your original comment was about Vinnie calling him “accused” instead of the man who kept his son in a box. As a Court TV host, and especially as a lawyer, Vinnie needs to follow the law. So that was the reason for my response about the law.

    Who likes a bully... He didn’t want that son he wanted whatever benefits he could derive from "adopting" a son! He is an abuser he will abuse any other person he deems weaker than him. He has no emotions because he meant to do everything he did to that adolescent! My guess he was a tiny meek man with everyone else and took all of his frustration out on him. This recording proves that it was never about punishment or deterrence ... it was... he truly thought that that human being didn’t even deserve the basic items in that box! He's touting food that he's providing as an amenity not an essential. She is a reflection of him... you'd think as a mother she'd be maternal. It is said to never discipline your children whilst angry, most parents send naughty children to their rooms to regulate tempers... but He's already living in a cell... so they invade that tiny space to berate him! Disgusting animals to treat a human being much less a child, that they adopted like that! 😢

      @redds7777 I agree there was no excuse for his treatment or having to use a bucket instead of the restroom. The parents deserve to serve time just like they did with the child, but I don't believe I would feel safe with him around my kids. I don't know what I would have done if i were them, but I definitely would have gone about it differently. The child hurting animals and searching up violent images on the computer is definitely a red flag. I'm not sure if that qualifies for acting out. I think it kept the other kids on edge.

    Well it’s unreasonable period! They continued day in and day out locking him inside that box I wouldn’t put a dead animal in. Pitch black day or night when the lights are out….can you imagine? Dark, silent and smelly for 12-14hours everyday will make anyone go coo coo. Now had they had him in therapy, had him in the house until bedtime and only use that room if he was violent it would be a different story. Right from school to the box and they want a pat on the back for letting him out a few hours over the weekend or want him to be soooooo thankful when they give him a crayon or a snack WTH!
    Look the kid obviously has issues whether just on his own or bc this abuse of these 2 caused it or made it worse idk but what I will say he should have been in therapy and bc they haven’t that is called neglect
