Good review, maybe you should do a review on which is the best Chromebook that performs closer to premium range notebook. How come this Chromebook has 8GB memory but other gen Chromebook have 4GB? With the exception of Chromebook Plus range that all feature 8GB memory. Happy with my old ASUS 214 11.6" but I only wish I could upgrade it to 8GB. Might just take it apart one day as I need to upgrade eventually as updates on my Chromebook expire 2025 I think.
Battery is excellent but it all depends on your usage, screen brightness and how you want to use the laptop. We tend to charge it a couple times a week max with 2-3 hours use per day but that's just emails, documents and a bit of browsing. Not much video and mid level screen brightness

I would say no. You'd need a more powerful i5 or i7 to run this with a dedicated GPU

That is a separate cost. You can use Office Online for free but it is limited. Why not consider Google's Docs as an alternative?
