She was great in that part. Racial discrimination was very prevalent at that time, 1938, and I'm sure she put up with much. I'll never forget her performance.

He went all out for others such as staying hours after his performances talking and signing autographs for his fans. Developing a charity to help disadvantaged children and their families. I have never heard or read anything negative about him. He was not a mean, rude, and hateful person as you would read about other celebrities. I don't have anything nice to say about his horrible and cancer caustic wife, Vicki. She is a narcissist and treated him horribly. He should have stayed with his first wife, Susan Silver. She wrote down what she wanted for her final planning and she requested to be buried at Hollywood Cemetery, which is now Hollywood Forever, because of her race, she was denied Burial at the segregated cemetery. Cornell's tombstone is so unassuming.. The day found out that he had died, is a day I will never forget. When I was 20, Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger CD came out, and as soon as I bought it, it was constantly playing fullblast in my truck. With his vocals on that album, I'm sure I suffered some hearing loss ('Slaves and Bulldozers' was my jam).

In the summer they hold outside viewing of old movies that many of the people buried here were in. I was standing near a grave speaking with my wife when I looked down at the marker and saw that I was standing near the grave of Mel Blanc. Mr. Blanc, the "Man of a Thousand Voices", was the voice of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and many many more. There's a lot to see here if you're at all interested in this kind of history.

There is so much history one can find in a cementary! Not just of famous people, but of everyday people as well. Ilike they way you try and find out about the occupant of a grave.

William Wallace Lincoln (Abe Lincoln's oldest son) just to name a few. I've been going to Hollywood Forever since I was 16 and had my first car. Now we live in Oregon. When I go down to visit my kids and friends, I still go to there to see the new graves and to put flowers on my favorites. I don't know if you knew it or not, but there is a victim of the sinking of RMS Titanic. It's actually a 'cenotaph.' His body was never recovered. When I heard his grave was there with his family members I couldn't find it. I went into the flower shop up by the guard's shack. The lady there didn't know either. So, she called the young man who helps run the, his family own it, I believe. He didn't know about it either. He went to his office and discovered his family's and his Cemetery is at there and he told me where to go. I have photos...I am very interest in RMS Titanic an was amazed by seeing the place to remember him. Great video.

My dad is buried at Pacific View Memorial Park in Newport Beach. Don’t know if you’ve been there. Its most famous gravesite would be that of John Wayne. Anyway the reason I mention it because of the situation with Chris Cornell. I thought the same thing even before you mentioned it. John Wayne’s grave did not have a stone only until just a few years ago, mainly to prevent his grave from becoming a tourist site, which I must say I am happy about since I can visit my father’s grave in peace.

Just found out from another commentator that her remains are not there, it’s only a cenotaph, memorial. She was denied burial at Hollywood Forever cemetery at that time because of her race. Her actual remains are in Angelus-Rosedale cemetery. Perhaps if and when Lamont visits that cemetery he’ll give her due respect.🌞

She was not actually buried there. what Lamont showed us was a cenotaph. Back in the day HF did not allow black people to be laid to rest at this cemetery...well when a new owner bought the cemetery an apology was forthcoming to Hattie's family for denying her wish to be buried there but the family refused Not clear as to why

Hattie is buried at Angelus-Rosedale Cemetery in L.A. When Tyler Cassidy bought Hollywood Cemetery he offered Hattie's family to have her brought to HFC, as per her wishes. But they gracefully declined saying that she's been at ARC for 50 years do why disturb her. That's when Tyler had the cenotaph commissioned in her honor.
