Hi Jason, good video! JFI the Eye-Start AF function is different from the Eye-AF. Eye-Start AF is the equivalent of the Pre-AF but for A-mount lenses, and it only works by getting close to the Finder. So if you use E-mount lenses, the system tells you it’s not available :)

Hey Jason! I’ve used the ease us recovery wizard and it worked for recovering Sony images. I actually ended up buying it works great and saved me for sure!
I've recovered Sony images from a card using the software link that comes with Sandisk Extreme cards.
I am buying this camera this weekend! Together with Sony 24-105 Lens. I'm excited

excellent video! The tip about formatting was interesting. On a computer if you format a hard drive with the right software you can probably recover data.
That is if you do not write anything else to the drive. Not sure what Sony has that formatting the SD card doesn't let you recover any data.

Nice tips as per usual man. I got a persistently question though. Sony has a Dynamic Range function you can set from 1-5 level of intensity. What would you it preforms better and/or if it causes some problems in photos?
Right off the bat, I switched to Sony about 4 years ago, just got the a7iii over a year ago, and I never turned off the auto high temp shut off. I've experienced the a7iii shutting down due to overheating maybe twice, so this is a great help! Even though I have been watching your videos for a while and a Sony user, I learned a few things, thank you man!

To touch base about the animal autofocus, I’ve done exactly what you suggested. I set one of my custom buttons to switch between human and animal and it made it so much easier!
how? im going through my A6400 settings and i cant seem to find the human/animal eye focus option to put on my custom buttons
Jessica Hebert its labeled as SUBJECT DETECTION. You have to go to the section that lets you program your C1 and C2 buttons.
Jessica Hebert and you have to have the latest firmware update to get animal eye autofocus on the A6400.
I learned quite a lot but boy, you're fast with us the starters. I wish you could particularly, step by step, go in details on step 21.

The Eye Start AF is an invention by Minolta, used on their SLR cameras. If you bring the camera to your eye, the autofocus is already activated without having to press the focus button. If you e.g. connects an old Minolta AF lens to a Sony camera via a LA-EA4 adapter, this function is enabled in the menu (I hope I explained it correctly. I come from Germany and my english is not that good)

Regarding the proxy, why I used FCPX to generate them when Sony can do it out of the box haha
Can you help to explore more on the difference between Smartzoom, ClearImage Zoom and Digital Zoom? To activate them, it needs to be shot in JPEG (medium size) and set to digital zoom. My next question is, will shooting in smaller jpeg files improves the noise or quality of the photos? Thank you in advance.

A few notes to items on the list.
2) NTSC/ Pal Selector
Please note that the camera WILL format the card when you switch between NTSC & PAL so bear that in mind.
3) Eye-Start AF
Only works for the LA-EA2/4 adapter with A-mount lenses & will start focusing when looking through the viewfinder.
Agree. Eye start AF and eye AF are two diff features of Sony ILCE/ILCA cameras

Thanks for that Long exposure NR tip. I was wondering why my a6600 always wrote to my SD card a lot longer than my a6000. I kept thinking "this doesn't make sense."

Jason I have just bought a sony a7iii and as a beginner in video filming I have seen a few of your videos and am impressed. I wonder if you could guide me in choosing a suitable lens for my shoots. Majority of my shoots are performance music video shoots of the singer in a 20feet x 20feet room at night with bi colour lighting. I currently have a 50mm 1.8 prime lens but I have to move far away in order to capture the full body shot that makes the subject appear far away. How can I overcome this issue?
Thank you Dude for the tip to turn off Long Exposure NR and High ISO NR.... that fixed my severe lag time on my A7r IV even with the fastest SD Card!!! For the longest time, I thought I had a defective camera! Thank You Thank You Thank YOU! 😃🙏

Great thanks! Could you do a video on how to get the hecking 1080p as sharp as possible with A6500-6600? Since I like using slo-mo it sucks to have only 4K/24-30 option (1080p infamously bad BAD on the A series) I think I'm not the only one...

Hi Jason, great video!! just one question: Number 22. Lens Comp. Does it really only work for Sony & Tamron lenses, meaning nót for Sigma or Rokinon? For example the Sigma trio for APS-C (16mm 30mm 56mm) is really nice glass, but especially the 16mm has quite a bit of distortion and chromatic aberration. Do the A6400 and A6600 not compensate for that, you think?

Could you do a video about which newer Sony cameras have improved features over the older generation? This is the most confusing part because not every feature is advertised by Sony.
Hi Jason, great video! I use a6600 and it might sound as a quick tip or it might sound as a big mistake :) The face/eye detection focus does not work on 4k 30p with an external monitor and I've checked that beeing in the shortcut menu. The face/eye detection is turning grade out as soon as I connected the hdmi cable. With 4k 24p this is not an issue. Any tip on this matter?

Hi Jason, do you have an audio recording level recommendation for Sony ZV-E10 using with shotgun mic?
I format after every shoot I do. But I religiously back up my work before hand haha
I never used a Canon camera before, but I still prefer back button autofocus since my hands/fingers are a bit fked up, so half pressing is very difficult for me. For my fingers, pressing either 100% or not at all, is preferred. It was actually one of your videos that introduced me to back button AF so thank you very much (I'm currently sitting on my front porch waiting for my A7iv delivery lmao)
Edit: do you use efcs or full mechanical?
Can I use my e-mount lens fr my sony A6000 for A73? If so, will it still be full frame or does it shrink it down to crop?
