It actually helped my symptoms so now I can actually function as a normal human being! You need to do your research. For weight loss only 25% should be lean muscle mass. Recent studies that are being suppressed by the media and fda are showing that these drugs reduce lean muscle mass by 67%. When you lose that much lean muscle mass you become more inflamed and it increases insulin resistance so making your diabetes worse

    I'm 44. I was never overweight for most of my life. I have been disabled for most of my adult life though. After suffering two miscarriages, the stillbirth of our son, followed by the birth of our miracle son at 41, my body went through a ton. And now I'm stuck in place were I weight well over 200 lbs. And it's near impossible to loose weight. I've tried everything, but with being disabled, I'm also very limited. My Dr recently prescribed me wegovy to try and help get weight loss going. To get a start after trying everything for 3 yrs. But Medicare will not cover weight loss medications. And we don't have over a thousand dollars a month to cover it. So now I'm sitting here, seeing a miracle that can be helpful, but can't get it because I'm not wealthy. It's ridiculous the cost of these medications.

      Hello, I am very sorry to read this. It’s outrageous that the USA medical insurance don’t cover Ozempic or Wegovy. But, then again - there’s no universal healthcare in USA either. That IS the root of the problem.
      (Not American so I may get some things confused) - can you not claim it on insurance for diabetes 2, or for cardiovascular health conditions? If you are 200pounds I’m assuming you do have diabetes 2? Obesity IS a health condition. Claim it for those conditions and not for ‘weight loss’. How can they deny medications for diabetes 2? Ozempic IS for diabetes 2. Wegovy is Ozempic but with a difference name so they can market Wegovy as weight loss and Ozempic as diabetes 2.

    • @user-cd2ut4fx1m

      $1000 a month?! - assuming this is for 4 sub cut injections? One per week? I have purchased Ozempic in UK, 4 week supply - it costs around £300 a month which is $381.45 USD. Speechless.
      I am no way even paying £300 again either, I’m getting it prescribed from my doctor, because, UK have regulations and license for Wegovy to be used for those who are in the weight problem category + patient’s BMI must be over a certain number. It’s prescribed especially diabetes 2, prediabetes, cardio conditions, high BP, and anything else like that. When I get Wegovy from Dr I won’t be paying a penny for it. It literally is ‘free’ for me, because it’s the NHS but also because I do not have to pay a basic prescription charge which is only £10 or something like that anyway.
      USA needs to get it prioritises right.

    • @AlohaLowah
      @AlohaLowah Год назад

      @@user-cd2ut4fx1m hi there, I actually do not have diabetes. I did have my doctor run a test for it because then I would be able to get Ozempic covered. I don't have heart health issues either that would qualify me for it. It's pretty frustrating. I do need to contact my insurance company to get a form to try and have my doctor request an override for the no, but since it's Medicare, it's highly unlikely that they will listen to him.
      The cost for Wegovy, out of pocket, is actually closer to $1600.00 a month, but the company gives out $500 off coupons you can use at your pharmacy. So then it comes down to close to $1k for a months supply. It's pretty ridiculous.

      lol it’s not a miracle. Why did you post this whole story and refuse to take any accountability ? Maybe those fertility issues were due to your weight. Being immobile at 44 is ridiculous unless you have some debilitating disease, or you lost your legs somehow. When people say “I tried everything” I know that’s a lie because I used to be hella fat. Lost it all and now I’m in great shape, muscular, and feel amazing. When someone takes 0 accountability for the reasons why they are sick (I’m not talking about random diseases that can occur, that’s totally different) I can’t take them seriously.
      It’s like an alcoholic complaining that their liver is dying, and that there is no way to fix it and there’s nothing that they can do. Hell, they could stop drinking ?

Prior to this I was approved for bariatric surgery and didn't want to go through another medical center. My GI in July did an endoscopy I had an ulcer so he scheduled for another in September. In August I started this poison mounjaro and I had no appetite at all. I couldn't even take a sip of a protein shake very week and even working out was difficult. I went to my 2nd endoscopy and my GI had to stop cause of food in my stomach. I didn't understand I hadn't been eating a lot. I then had to do a 3rd endoscopy a week later and told me all liquids the day before. He was able to complete the procedure but still a little food. He then put in for a gastric emptying scan that took 4 hours. You eat radio active eggs, toast and water then they scan you every hour. They were checking me for gastroparesis never heard of it and did research. It's not curable. I couldn't understand why. Started researching mounjaro side effects and one is DELAYED GASTRIC EMPTYING! I lost 22 pounds on it but that's because food sits in your stomach and that isn't healthy. As soon as I went off gained 11 lbs back and I felt great. DON'T TAKE THESE INJECTIONS!

When you lose that much lean muscle mass you become more inflamed and it increases insulin resistance so making your diabetes worse

      And if you knew what you were talking about, Ozempic makes you NAUSEOUS thus losing weight. Everyone experiences this, not just a select few.
      I am glad that at least in Florida CVS is saying NO to those who want to lose weight are pre diabetic. Diabetics need Ozempic period.

      This is another sad and ignorant statement. 😢 This medication only works in conjunction with lifestyle changes such as healthy diet and excercise. Many people with obesity have struggled even after trying for months and years vigorous exercise and numerous diets to lose weight. They could have Metabolic Disorder, hormonal imbalance, inflammation, a prescription drug reaction, thyrioid issued, PCOS, and even an imbalance in brain function and in the hormones that tells the person when they are full. I struggled over 10 years to lose weight because of a thyriod issue, Insulin Resistance and a metabolic disorder! Even after exercising over 200 minutes a week, and eating leas than 1200 calories per day, I still could not lose any weight! Once I started on Mounjaro this past year and I was able to lose 70 lbs, reverse my type two diabetes, lower my blood pressure, and fix my fatty liver disease! I continued my healthy lifestyle as usual but this time I was successful in losing weight! It finally worked thanks to this drug. This is a life-saving medication! Unfortunately many people that have not suffered from obesity or other Metabolic Disorders and hormonal imbalances don't fully understand what a game changer this is. Imagine all the lives and the money that could be saved in healthcare by properly treating people with obesity! We could also say the same thing about people with high blood pressure that need blood pressure medication, heart disease, or even high cholesterol. Why do we need to prescribe them drugs? These illnesses all have some lifestyle component to them, but would you deny someone life saving blood pressure medication if they needed it? No that would be cruel, inhuman and even malpractice. It's attitudes like yours and ignorance about this disease that have many insurances companies not pay for or cover this medication because they see it as "cosmetic". I hope that you have a new perspective on the disease of obesity. Its not just about moving more and eating less. If it was that simple many people would not be obese! Especially the ones that have been trying those methods for years!

Maunjouro takes my hunger away and I'm using this opportunity to teach myself how to eat healthy.i was feeling horrible and felt like I was dying. My blood glucose was over 200, after starting the injections my blood glucose is normal and with out the cravings for carbs/sugars Ive changed my eating habits. I'm not diabetic yet but prediabetes. This can help people before they get to that point. I'm the long run it's better to take 1 injection a week and learn how to eat healthier and prevent diabetes than become diabetic and have to take injections insulin 3 times a day and risk losing your limbs or even your life.
