I hope Drew feels the same way for the entire state of Louisiana, because almost everybody in Louisiana roots for Drew Brees & the Saints.
Most fans of football in general will always root for Drew Brees.
I have lived in New Orleans for almost a year now, and what Drew said about the people is spot on. These are the most friendliest welcoming people I have ever encountered. I grew up in Maryland and I have lived up and down the East coast, and all I can say is that I am very happy I made New Orleans my new home. I am also proud to be a Saints fan.

So he takes you to just one Super Bowl, grant it they won, but it's only one Super Bowl appearance in 15 years. In addition only 3 Conference Championship game appearances. Peyton Manning took the Broncos to two Super Bowls, winning one and 2 total conference championships. Tom Brady won a Super Bowl with Tampa in year one. Kurt Warner took the Rams to two Super Bowls in 3 years, winning 1. Reggie White single handedly changed a packers defense that brought two straight Super Bowl appearances. This is off the top of my head as I'm about to go to sleep. I haven't even brought up Charles Woodson and his impact on the Packers, or Deion on the 49ers and Cowboys.

What people doesn't realize, Drew Brees was already coming to New Orleans. In his book, he said he had a pull towards the city, after having a fun time with Sean and Tom and seeing the damage Hurricane Katrina has brought to Louisiana, that had an effect on him, he wanted to help rebuild the city. Miami had everything he could of dreamed of, and for his wife and future family but Coach Saban believed in his team's doctors and Saints doctors had Brees recovering faster. That was the final straw to Brees being a Saint, if even, because really, he was still coming to New Orleans.
Bucs fan here, drew and Sean are both class acts.

Boy am I happy that the folks in Miami went a different way because as a Bills fan having to deal with Brady every year for the past 20 years has been annoying and debilitating. The thought of having to deal with Brees and Brady 4 times a year would’ve been very hard to overcome as a fan base known for being 110% supportive no matter what. It would’ve really tested our faith and fandom. Sure it would’ve made for an interesting AFC East for football in general which I’d appreciate, but it would’ve been a nightmare for us I’m sure. But who knows what would’ve really happened and how different the landscape of the league would’ve looked if Brees ended up in Miami.

What was the injury Drew talking about?
Andi S He had a severe shoulder injury when he was with the Chargers. The Dolphins signed Brees when he was a free agent and failed him on his physical. Saints ended up getting him and the rest is history.
Can you imagine if drew had gone to Miami? Drew Brees vs Tom Brady twice a year? Nick saban might have stayed on with the dolphins and possibly began a winning culture. Boy how history would be different.
BUT, boy am i glad drew came home to Louisiana. My Saints have become a team we didn’t know we could be. An offensive powerhouse. Super Bowl 44 was the culmination of YEARS of horrible seasons. It’s just awesome the way things have turned out.
