How many HOF legends actually helped raise up a devastated community... Brees is a hero on multiple levels, he & his wife recently started the "playground in Audubon Park...New Oeleans' first playground that caters to children of all abilities. The play equipment is accessible by wheelchair, there’s a zip line that doesn’t require any upper body strength - everything was mapped out with different abilities in mind." #BreesDAT 🎺🎯✨🎆
I agree. When he talks about Katrina & rebuilding the city he gets a serious look in his eye,,,u know it matters to him and his family. HOF in many ways. #BreesDAT
Serenity Now We don’t want any Bama jack asses in the dome. You are just a fare weather Saints fan. A Johnny come lately. I was at the very first Saints so shut the fuck up.
I have lived in New Orleans for almost a year now, and what Drew said about the people is spot on. These are the most friendliest welcoming people I have ever encountered. I grew up in Maryland and I have lived up and down the East coast, and all I can say is that I am very happy I made New Orleans my new home. I am also proud to be a Saints fan.
As a die hard life long phins fan that was tough to watch drew do drew things for years knowing he could've played in Dade county... smdh damn dolphins but I'll ride till I die lol
So he takes you to just one Super Bowl, grant it they won, but it's only one Super Bowl appearance in 15 years. In addition only 3 Conference Championship game appearances. Peyton Manning took the Broncos to two Super Bowls, winning one and 2 total conference championships. Tom Brady won a Super Bowl with Tampa in year one. Kurt Warner took the Rams to two Super Bowls in 3 years, winning 1. Reggie White single handedly changed a packers defense that brought two straight Super Bowl appearances. This is off the top of my head as I'm about to go to sleep. I haven't even brought up Charles Woodson and his impact on the Packers, or Deion on the 49ers and Cowboys.
What people doesn't realize, Drew Brees was already coming to New Orleans. In his book, he said he had a pull towards the city, after having a fun time with Sean and Tom and seeing the damage Hurricane Katrina has brought to Louisiana, that had an effect on him, he wanted to help rebuild the city. Miami had everything he could of dreamed of, and for his wife and future family but Coach Saban believed in his team's doctors and Saints doctors had Brees recovering faster. That was the final straw to Brees being a Saint, if even, because really, he was still coming to New Orleans.
As a Falcons fan, I knew Brees signing there would change the Saints forever. I liked him in San Diego and couldn’t believe Miami passed him up (I understand the injuries) but he was solid
If I was the general manager of the saints I would talk to owner and say this Is the player we have always wanted and brings great morale and reminds me of hall of Famer and be saint for life one day at a time
I wanted Brees in Dallas! He's always been a superb QB/football player! I was heated when we let Payton get away a season before he would've been out head coach. 😣😣😣😣😣😣😣😣
Boy am I happy that the folks in Miami went a different way because as a Bills fan having to deal with Brady every year for the past 20 years has been annoying and debilitating. The thought of having to deal with Brees and Brady 4 times a year would’ve been very hard to overcome as a fan base known for being 110% supportive no matter what. It would’ve really tested our faith and fandom. Sure it would’ve made for an interesting AFC East for football in general which I’d appreciate, but it would’ve been a nightmare for us I’m sure. But who knows what would’ve really happened and how different the landscape of the league would’ve looked if Brees ended up in Miami.
3 greatest free agent signings of all time: 1) Reggie White to Packers 2) Drew Brees to Saints 3) Deion Sanders to Cowboys (You can also throw in Deion to the Niners a year prior) Dolphins passed on Brees for Daunte Culpepper. It's 2020, Brees still smashing records, while the Dolphins STILL search for their future quarterback.
Sometimes Something higher ( God ) puts us in a place or situation for a reason and we have a choice to accept it or go somewhere else. But if we just accept it great things happen will not just to us but to everyone else around us. Sean and Drew always stay humble and kind.
I'm glad in a way that Drew wound up in NO, a city that has obviously benefited from having him. Yet, as a Ravens fan, I REALLY wish the Ravens had gone after him instead of Steve McNair in 2006. A QB like Brees, with that 2000s Ravens Defense? Yeah....could have gotten multiple championships.
sean and drew this is real real talk about new orleans..so we cant get mad about chris paul leaving are anthony davis they wanted better for themselfs and there family
Which team was offering more money? Its ok to say N.O. was offering more and he chose them, because of the money - if thats the case. I dont understand why thats a bad thing. People leave jobs all the time to find one that pays better, but we look down on athletes if they do the same. Why?
Andi S He had a severe shoulder injury when he was with the Chargers. The Dolphins signed Brees when he was a free agent and failed him on his physical. Saints ended up getting him and the rest is history.
Can you imagine if drew had gone to Miami? Drew Brees vs Tom Brady twice a year? Nick saban might have stayed on with the dolphins and possibly began a winning culture. Boy how history would be different. BUT, boy am i glad drew came home to Louisiana. My Saints have become a team we didn’t know we could be. An offensive powerhouse. Super Bowl 44 was the culmination of YEARS of horrible seasons. It’s just awesome the way things have turned out.
@@OCDustin brooo I was just thinking that... Miami would've been a powerhouse, Alabama prolly would've been complete poop or not as great as they are now. But most importantly... He helped rebuild new Orleans.. See I was 5 or 6 during Katrina so i don't remember it.... The first Time I seen the second coming of Breesus was in 2009(call me a bandwagon but I was 9) and I just fell in love plus black & gold was my favorite colors but yeah I think that's one of the best decisions I made #WhoDat!!!!!💖💖💯💯💯💯
Alpha Chino no you’re right. I was 22 during katrina. We only had flashes of great offense with Aaron brooks before. Before that....DONT ASK. Ask your parents, long gone are the days of watching a QB throw an interception then walk off the field smiling. 😡 Those days are gone now thank god.
Lay down the pipe guys, Miami was not set up for consistency, nor would Sabans conservative style let brees sling the ball. Miami would likely have made the playoffs a couple times and he would have been just an average QB..its like saying if cleveland would have drafted Tom Brady they would have been great, NO, Brady would have been out of the league before 30...Right place, Right system, Right talent...Miami had none of those...
Payton must have a terrible sense of direction. The street the bridge lands on connects with I10 after like a mile, then you follow signs for New Orleans.
Drew is one of the greatest athletes and people that the world has ever seen. He is a great person, player and ambassador for sports. Sean Payton is a joke, he better thank his god every day that Drew Brees has been there to make him look like he knows what he is doing.
No they didn’t. They were acquitted of all accusations by Paul Tagliabue, unfortunately it came after the damage was done. Roger Goodell used them as a scapegoat to fuel his legacy. Literally the entire league has been caught for “bounties” throughout the league’s history and he just wanted to stake his claim in NFL history by trying to discipline the Saints for something that they were eventually proven innocent of. If you have a favorite NFL team I fucking dare you to google the website “myteamcheats” and have fun with what you read. You ignorant casual football fan. WhoDat GEAUX Saints!
If Brees wanted to mayor of New Orleans he would only have to campaign for 5 minutes and he would win uncontested!!
You think so? wouldn't seeing him in the ballot be enough?
Yea it would be a brees :P
Hell, he could be Governor if he wanted!
This aged poorly

rob M. I think you mean, disabilities
Truse well, he’s right when he says all abilities. Kids with disabilities and the able bodied, can play on the playground alike.
Never had a sense of Brittany before! It's good to know she's as classy as Drew.

We the Saints fans can never repay Drew for what he has for our city!
I totally agree. He is such a classy guy. Amazing, esp considering the talent. Most others of this caliber would boast ceaselessly. But not Drew.
I agree. When he talks about Katrina & rebuilding the city he gets a serious look in his eye,,,u know it matters to him and his family. HOF in many ways. #BreesDAT

Best decision Sean Peyton ever made!!! God blessed this union!!!
Union?
A legend of New Orleans
I hope Drew feels the same way for the entire state of Louisiana, because almost everybody in Louisiana roots for Drew Brees & the Saints.
Most fans of football in general will always root for Drew Brees.
He is the best free agent signing in the history of the NFL
Michael ; Broncos & Giants Fan For Life here. I agree 100%.

@Middle Aged Giraffe I take it back. I'm not relaxing cause I ate Taco Bell and am going beast mode on the toilet
"If you love New Orleans, it will love you back" we sure damn do, Breesus.
Brees and Payton were the right people for the job in New Orleans. Helped bring hope to a city torn apart by Katrina
You are Brees. A part of our fabric. A New Orleanean.
He rightfully owns the heart of the city.
Bucs fan here, drew and Sean are both class acts.
Graham, you are possibly the best interviewer I have ever heard, really enjoy your interviews.
Sean Payton was the youngest coach in history before the youngest coach in history Sean McVay was in the league
Mike Tomlin was the youngest head coach before Sean McVay.
He's playing for the people

Drew and Sean a match made in heaven. #respect
You're right Drew Brees is the real goat hey may not have many rings as Brady have but when he retires he's going to have all the records
The 3 people that disliked this video are probably falcons fans

MR BREES, being a dolphin fan your decision still hurts, but congrats you are a class act, and continue to be blessed
Man hearing this interview made me like Drew Brees 100 times more! 💯🙌🏽
I thank the Miami Dolphins every season for losing their nerve with Drew Brees.
I find it funny they signed Culpepper, a guy with a blown out knee instead.I assume that Dr was fired, also I'm a Buccaneers fan respect to Drew.
Drew Brees for president love this guy
Ahhh 0:58 "we had to overpay... I don't mean that". LOLOLOL
Drew Brees is a god amongst men
God imagine the Brees/Brady battles if Brees went to Miami!!

Charlie Williams I kind of wince at Breesus; that's a mighty big set of slippers to fill. That's why I say...MR. BREES!
Man Sean Payton is such a traitor to want to be a head coach of the packers and not try to be the bears
White socks ffs
They’re not even white, they’re some crazy pastel striped joints. I knew something was off about this guy.
If black socks are GQ I guess. By the way that comment came out of left field, would you like for me to model some socks for you?
Drewwwwwwwwwwww

Pat Smith how is hitting harder cheating.
It's also funny how the whistleblower on the Saints staff only came to the NFL after he was fired, and was subsequently hired by Roger Goodell...
