Going to attempt to go for this soon, as this is the only guide I feel confident in using for this purpose (and I don't want to set up for Channel Jirachi). It is incredibly nerve wracking though, so hoping I can get consistent at the least fairly quickly LOL
My hunt begins soon; got the GBA to GC cable ordered and on the way, a copy of Ruby and a Link Cable for Emerald double-checking (and trading Jirachi to Emerald for a new playthrough) due for delivery tomorrow..!
Yo Jefe I started my hunt today, following ProfessorRex’s guide as he was going for the same Shiny Serious spread I am It seems like I got very close on a couple occasions, as much as being likely two frames off on one attempt, but I’m curious, if I wanted to use FlowTimer and follow your guide, how could I adjust your instructions to hit the Serious Shiny Jirachi
Hey, thank you so much for the guide! I’ve managed to nail the correct TID/SID multiple times, however, every one of my attempts has resulted in the seed 0000 Quirky Jirachi. I'm using an official Bonus Disc, and copy of Pokemon Ruby. I was thinking that it was the fact I was using an Analogue Pocket, but I got the same result when attempting with both a GBA and OG DS.
That's quite strange. What happens if you start a fresh file and do no RNG manipulation of the TID/SID? The Jirachi disk is analyzing the save file and computing a checksum, so it's nearly impossible to get the same Jirachi every time. My only thought is that maybe the Ruby cartridge is a reproduction, and thus is handling save data in a different way?
@@PapaJefeYT Tried resetting my Wii, and used my copy of Sapphire on the off-chance that it was a reproduction (although I know it's a legit cartridge), and it again gave me the 0000 Quirky Jirachi with manipulation. Afterwards, I save-corrupted the Sapphire to restore the save before without the Jirachi and re-gifted the Jirachi and got a different Jirachi for once...Honestly a little stumped to be honest.
That save corrupt actually might have solved the issue. In the guide, at ~16:25, I do a first save. And then the final save at the timer resolution is the one the Bonus Disc references. The games have two save blocks, and if you don't save twice, one of your save blocks is blank and in theory would give you checksum 0000. Doing a corruption would push the pre-Jirachi save into the correct block for the disc to recognize.
@@PapaJefeYT Okay, thank you so much, that was driving me crazy. The only RNG I've done before this is Gen IV, and it's my first time messing with Gen III, so I knew I was borking something up. I will give it a shot later today when I have more time. Thank you so much for your help!
Thank you so much for the guide! I have two quick questions if you have time to answer. First, does changing the settings before hiting new game effect anything? Second, after getting your starter you say to take this exact path. If we accidently deviate from that path will it mess up the run? Sorry Im so late to the party eith these questions! I have done two runs using the timer settings for the hasty jirachi and have been super far off from the correct checksum, so much so I am having trouble telling which one I hit...

I haven't, but that sounds interesting. I'm not exactly eager to try this RNG again, but if that's reliable it might be possible. My main concern, would be that the tools might not work in this scenario because they were created for redeeming in one run.
I'm really excited to try this but I need to order some stuff first so I have a coupla of questions. Does it matter from wich region my gameboy, my ruby edition or anythung else is? I'm actually not entirely sure. I know that the english Colosseum Bonus disc can communicate with all english copies of RS, regardless of the Wii's region. I'm not sure if other EU copies of RS can communicate with ENG Colosseum though. You'd need to experiment. If you can receive the Jirachi successfully, this method will work.
