Edit: On your question if you can send the shiny Whishmaker Jirachu up through Bank and the Home, I have heard that you used to not be able to but after a “recent” update to bank (that was a few years ago), you can now. I have also seen people with RNG abused/hacked shiny Whishmaker Jirachis in Sword & Shield. HOWEVER, I have not seen any actual video evidence that it can be sent up but maybe I will have to try and clone mine to test whenever I get around to hunting it. So hopefully that helps anyone who is curious. I would say you can send it up but do so at your own risk!
The update was due to a shiny Jirachi event in gen 6. So they had to remove the shiny block from Jirachi, which allowed the legit Wishmakers through that they'd previously blocked.
I just set up this hunt for myself today. I failed the corruption method 2 times and had to restart. On that 3rd attempt I found the shiny. I never even got to learn the method. Thank you for the inspiration to even set up the hunt. My hands are still shaking a bit.

Excellent video and excellent explanation. Congrats, Steve, on the best shiny mythical!!! This method is one of my favorites because of how much it changed this hunt and the ingenuity of it. It feels like one of those super niche pieces of tech a speedrunner would master to improve a run, and it's awesome to be able to apply that to a discipline that feels simultaneously in the same vein as speedrunning while also being the antithesis of it - the grind of shiny hunting.

I could just feel the genuine excitement and disbelief the moment shiny Jirachi fell from the sky night :) I wasn't aware of the different bonus discs and the existence of unique Jirachis. It's a hunt that I definitely want to do in the future but I'll need to purchase the equipment first and might take a long while. You did a really nice job in editing this video, everything was smooth and clean! And props to the shiny hunters who found this method and optimize it, now everyone who decides to go for it can have their wishes come true :) Shiny Jirachi is a magnificent one, I love the black marks around its red eyes and that pallet pink in its body really suits it. Every day you break the limits of what is possible. I remember this being off-limits for the longest time, with people only being willing to RNG manipulate for a shiny Jirachi to even show up. Congratulations!!! So much dedication. Jirachi is my favourite Pokémon and I managed to obtain my own shiny WISHMKR one back in 2020. I did use RNG manipulation but even with that it took me almost 2 months of “hunting” it. It’s one of the hardest shinies to obtain. I collected every possible ribbon on it and it’s currently sitting on my Ultra Sun game. Congrats again!!! I admire you for your patience and full odds hunts.

What amazes is how close the number of resets you needed -7693- is to the 7281 appearing in the likelihood of getting a shiny Jirachi ^^
