The little girl playing Santamonica Johnson stole my heart. I just melted listening to her animated personality and sharing her heart of gratitude for getting the role. It seems like a great cast.
Cadmar Business Suite Santamonica is the best ever! Reminds me of my little sister when we were growing up.
Not to take anything away from the other actors, but that lil girl has that thing, that thing. There's a lil old Soul in there and betcha she can sing too.

I actually don't like those two kids playing Santamonica and Johan. I didn't like Raven's Olivia character on Cosby Show.

The episode when Santamonica got her hair straightened and got home and was busy talking to herself saying “hey Santy”, “hey Santy”... I love her character so much . Like this girl is an amazing actress , she was so different in the Affair

I love this show and I believe it’s extremely realistic. I’m not “mixed” however everyone thinks I am for whatever reason so I can relate 100%. The actors are talented and I look forward to watching every week.

I am mixed, although white & Latina. I grew up in the 80’s. This show is spot on. I like how it all reflects the interactions with the secondary family members. It is a tug of war for your identity.

My uncle and Aunt decided not to have children, so they wouldn't have to go through what mixed kids go through. My other cousin, whom was brought up in his white side of his family, often talks of suicide because he is mixed. He wants to be just white. Sad.

And sometimes there are little things that bug me with being mixed like how if someone sees me with my brother who has brown skin they are sooo shocked to think that we are related at all let alone being fully related. Its annoying but it is what it is. All together i love being mixed and its awesome to embrace both sides...

I guess is that all of the children have White Mamas? What is wrong with this picture? ( I could be wrong but White women still run Hollywood and it's just another opportunity for them to put them ahead of real indigenous peoples of this land namely us Melanized ones. What made me write this is I saw an interview on Jimmy Kimmel where he asked the Santamonica what was her favorite 80's artist. She sang "We are living in a material world and I am material girl." Not many Sisters liked Madonna then and that song was like a prostitutes kind of song. So I assume, Madonna was her mother's favorite and so I assume her mother is Caucasian. They love that song. WTH?

But the mother in Black Ish is mixed race. So Why did they make Tika the mother when she's dark skin. Shouldn't have black ish done the same before this show popped onto the scene.

@@REDBONEPRODUCTIONS876 Sometimes you just got to get it right later and these are actors - whomever will fit the role best for that show. I think the show is going by real life relatable actors. Tika in real life is married to a white man and she is getting praise by some black women for it and backlash by some black men. She is more submissive and smart at the same time. She holds her own. So she can relate in Real Life.
Speaking of where they fit best you notice they have the sister in law (Christina) more heavy set, louder and dark skin, She keeps it real - not submissive. The white father in law trying to ACT hip.
