- Although streaming is very popular and a convenient way to watch video content, physical media is still alive and well and the Panasonic DP-UB820 4K Blu-ray player is an exceptional unit that will spin Blu-ray discs. This compact powerhouse packs a huge punch and delivers reference quality video thanks partly to its HCX (Hollywood Cinema Experience) processor which incorporates Panasonic’s HD Optimizer taking HDR picture quality to a new level. Furthermore, there is no other Blu-ray player currently available that can match its video performance in its price class. It easily rivals and even beats the performance of Blu-ray players costing substantially more.
*The Panasonic DP-UB820 is considered by many enthusiasts and reviewers alike as the best Blu-ray player of 2024 for most people and continues to be a top seller among consumers.

I just got a UB420 which is good enough to for my use case. I stream most of my content. I am getting into blu rays now because I have a QD OLED in my tv collection now. 😊
Enjoy your new UB420. Its a good Blu-ray player as well. Thanks for your comments.
Upgrade to this one for 500 and sell the other one- You won't regret it
@@hdtvsandmore1321 Thanks I appreciate you.

It is an excellent Blu-ray movie player that features the upgraded sensor from its more expensive flagship UB9000 - which is the biggest selling point. The sensor alone makes the price point appropriate but you also get some of the best picture processing available. HOWEVER. The plastic chassis is disappointingly cheap feeling, the UI and menus are clunky, and I have had a couple hiccups here and there with the tray not wanting to close. It's not perfect but both this and the cheaper UB420 have no competition in their respective price ranges for versatility and picture quality.
Thanks for your comments.
Hello, very interesting video, I wanted to know the usefulness today of the "HD Optimizer", it is only used for the luminance of projectors, and is only really useful on HDR televisions which were released before the Panasonic DP-UB820 ?
The HD Optimizer is useful for projectors as well as HDR TVs that were released after the introduction of the DP-UB820.
Thanks for your comments
Got one already.
Thanks for your comments.

❤ love it 😍

Is using this player the best to stream Netflix or should i just go with a roku or firestick? Also is it best to use a Panasonic HDMI cable for best viewing experience? I read it in the manual but it's expensive so i don't know if it's worth it
Personally I would go with a Roku or Firestick. You will have a much larger selection of steaming options to choose from vs. the limited apps that are available on the UB820. You don't need to use a Panasonic HDMI cable for the best viewing experience. Any quality HDMI cable will give you the same results. And it doesn't have to be an expensive HDMI cable.
Thanks for your comments.
Thank you for this good video
Glad you liked it! Thanks for your comment.
Does it do Dolby Atmos?
Yes, if the disc is encoded with a Dolby Atmos track, the player will bitstream the signal through the HDMI output.
Thanks for your comments.
Yea I went ahead and got one its very nice @@hdtvsandmore1321

Great video,greetings from Scotland✌️
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for your comments.
Is this region free? Thanks.
I found this info on a reputable website:
"Since 4K UHD discs are region free, 4K discs will play from any region on the UB820. Blu-ray discs are limited to the player’s country region code. In the US, the UB820 will only play Region A blu-ray discs and Region 1 dvds. If you want to play blu-rays and dvds from any region, you’ll have to buy a region free modded version of this 4K player."
Hope this info helps. Thanks for your comment.
