Hero of the franchise honestly. Without him there would be no iron man. Iron mans influence on the world wouldn’t exist and the world would have been destroyed without him.
Doctor's Credo "First Do No Harm". Even if he knows they need to be killed and that Tony/Iron Man will kill them, he can't willingly kill them himself. It's against his nature to take a life under any circumstances.
@@ryanadams2671 True, but I think the other hero of the franchise (besides Feige, of course, peace be upon him) is Jon Favreau, the director of this movie and Tony's bodyguard Happy. Iron Man isn't technically the first MCU canon film (that would be the second Incredible Hulk movie, but not the first, for some reason), but it is the one that put the Universe on solid footing. Jon filled the tanks, lit the fires, and let her soar.
An in the second film at Monaco, Pepper says about her that "She did quite the spread on Tony last year". And Tony quips back "And she wrote an article about me too."
Um yeah it must be one of those mystical things like the thousandth monkey... Paul in a later comment mentioned Monaco. Only put both together on the dozenth watchings
One quote I'd like you to remember is from Yinsen: "Don't waste your life Stark, don't waste it..." This matters more and more as the films go on. And perhaps is a driving force behind Tony's ambition and nature in the later movies.
At the end. Most heroes don't reveal their names to protect loved ones. But Tony's story is, in many ways, about learning to love others then himself so while a badarse line it is actually kind of sad that in the moment he doesn't really have anyone to protect. Just a military guy who is almost a friend and some close employees.
Good point. Also, though, most heroes with a secret identity have some hope of keeping that identity secret. Tony's already associated with Iron Man ("Are we supposed to believe that's a bodyguard in a suit?"), and his tech is evident (repulsors in the Jericho, repulsors in the suit). Cat's outta the bag already; might as well jump on the tiger and take the ride.
And there’s not much danger from revealing it at that point in time. He’s Tony Stark. Revealing he’s Iron Man just makes people less likely to cross him
The irony is that Robert Downey jr. really is, in a way, Tony Stark. RDJ had a history of drug & alcohol abuse in Hollywood. He even went to prison for a while. When he got out he finally started to get his life together. Marvel took a huge gamble casting him, given his reputation. Basically RDJ just played himself. He might have drawn on his life experiences when portraying Stark's life change. ... Before his downward spiral he did some excellent work. One of my personal favorites is Heart & Souls.
@White-Viruz ffh was good, bw was late, and SC is lower mid tier. Like I said, the luster has dulled, I'm not saying they are bad. Eternals seems to be disjointed, I'm just saying that the stakes and the overall story does not seem to be the same quality. I want them to get there but from what I'm seeing it's not looking good
As a guy, I'd say Tony Stark is the James Bond of the superhero genre - guys want to be him, girls want to be with him. He's just the definition of cool.
I remember watching this in the theaters. I couldn't believe that he broke the cardinal superheroe rule: don't tell your secret identity. And, yet, he did.
The phrase, "bought the farm" comes from an old mortgage term. Where there is an insurance policy attached to a mortgage. If the signer dies before the mortgage is finished, the insurance pays any outstanding debt. Some were so deeply in debt that the policy was the only way to pay off their mortgage. So if they die then their property is debt free. They, "bought the farm."
In regards to what men think: Tony is the best. So well written and perfectly portrayed. I'm a straight man but damn. He's very attractive. Looking forward to your future marvel reactions!
Tony Stark is what used to be called "a man's man". The kind of guy that you could hang out with and you wouldn't get jealous when your girlfriend talked about how great great is.
RDJ is a very talented actor who got into trouble multiple times with drug abuse when he was younger. In the comic books, Tony Stark was an alcoholic. Iron Man is the perfect role for RDJ.
It's probably something silly to point out but Marvel does a great job of of making you feel that Tony Stark is actually inside a suit. The close-ups of his face inside the helmet are so believable
I'm glad you're giving this universe a chance. This film is a good foundation; stick with it! suggestions: watch the MCU in "release" order, and watch the end credits all the way through, there are "end credit scenes" (sometimes, more than one or two). I'm confident you'll have some fav characters along the way. Enjoy and welcome to the MCU.
Before the MCU, I already knew about Spiderman (because of the other older movies), and Hulk (because of the very old tv series). I kind of heard about Iron Man... But that was it. Then THIS MOVIE (Iron Man) came out, then boom. I've been hooked for life. What a great intro into this fantastic world... You'll love it.
To be fair Ironman was never a popular character before the movies. His comicbooks were never selling well and he was actually quite hated for many of his actions (like Civil War, which in the comics Tony is very much on the wrong side eg forcing the cure on mutants). The movies changed the character's trajectory.
@@shadearca Yeah, it was a smart move by Marvel to start small. Outside of a very select group of fans, nobody gave a shit about Iron Man, or even knew he existed, for the most part, so if they screwed-up, no huge deal. Contrast with DC, who went straight for Superman and corkscrewed into the ground with a vengeance.
@4:30, at the time this film came out a critic called Iron Man “the first adult superhero movie”. Tony is already smart, rich, powerful and a ladies man. He doesn’t become Iron Man to feel powerful. He becomes Iron Man to do good in the world.
Welcome to the beginning of the Marvel Saga. And even as a man, I feel that this was an excellent film and character to start it with. (Though, technically, The Incredible Hulk [also 2008] was the first.) Also loved your reaction when he said at the end, "I am Ironman."
The look of absolute contempt and frustration when Obadiah gets out of the car to meet with the ten rings is just so perfect xD Can't wait to see more of the Marvel movies from you!
You'd surprised to hear that most men actually love Tony, and consider him a role model in many ways - In spite of his flaws. Because you see, in spite of his arrogance, he still reflects on his mistakes when they are laid bare, and makes the necessary changes to fix his mistakes. That is what separates him from the other "bad boys" that women like. That, the great sense of humor, and the fact that he actually does do some serious amount of thinking ahead when it comes to serious matters. He is not perfect, but he always seeks to improve in every sense. Improve himself, improve things for the world at large, improve the chances for the common folk, improve technology, improve medicine, help people improve themselves by challenging their perspectives(even if he's often snarky about it, especially with ppl that he has no respect for/history with). So no, if you found a more exact replica of Tony - Most men would CG you on the catch. Now ofc most such ppl only seem like him, but are true fullblown selfish narcissists. And so if you try, you're likely to find them instead warning you, and losing faith in your judgment.
My favorite "secret" in the movie. (and the one thing that Tony has nostalgia for).. his robot helper? At 4:45 in the movie, he built it at age 17 and won a prize with it. Kept it ever since.
They kidnapped Tony to make the weapons because only Tony can make the weapons. He designs, sketches, assembles and tests them for QA before he introduces them for military demos. Tony is 100% hands-on.
Well, you have now embarked on a wonderful journey. I’m looking forward to seeing it. You’re gonna fking love this shit mate. You’ve got some absolute awesomeness ahead of you. Lucky girl
Considering the "I am Iron Man" line was ad-libbed by RDJ, imagine what the MCU would have looked like if they kept to the intended secret identity route
Best to watch these in release order. There are too many spoilers (especially in the MCU) across the different hero movies. Don't forget to watch the extra scene(s) after the credits.
"Its getting really popular for a while... like all my life" It does seem like its been that long hasn't it. It really is that expansive. But I'm glad you're finally tackling it. Enjoy!
Something that gets lost in time is that the movie came out in 2008. We didn't have personal assistants like siri or alexa back then. When that reporter wakes up after the one night stand to Jarvis's voice, she gets a little freaked out for a sec till she realizes it's not some random guy talking. Just the AI.
Strap in for a looooong looooong wild ride. No spoilers people!!! lol Let's let Blue enjoy all the highs and lows :) oh this is gonna be fun! Keep in mind, this is the start of the MCU. From this movie, always remember: cheeseburgers the sound of him hammering in the cave, working on the suit that last line to end the movie: I am Iron Man and Yinsen... always remember Yinsen.
There were a couple of attempts to do a Hulk origin story, but these days more people know the only thing that happens to somebody exposed to large doses of Gamma rays is that they die. They have to work out some explanation for the different effect on him. 'Bought the farm' is an expression meaning to be killed in action, because many wartime pilots had a desire to stop flying, buy a farm and live in peace. The only peace many had was in death.
at 47:00 you are describing what made Marvel special. As Stan Lee once said, and this is a paraphrase. The secret to making a great superhero is to give him a superpower but then after that, make everything else as realistic as possible. This person has faults, struggles, and the dialog is realistic.
in america in WW2, if a soldier was killed his family would get some money. The joke being, money to pay off the loan on the farm. So when someone got killed, they said, well he bought the farm.
Must admit it's strange to hear people have not heard of these movies or even people that have not watched them. It's fun watching their reactions seeing what happens. Seeing if they'll respond the same way you did when you seen it for the first time yourself. I am iron Man. Love the song too iron Man
Blue... no one is going to be mad if you already seen some movies. Just be honest with us and say I seen this one a long time ago. That way you can relax and not feel so pressured.
agreed. No one gets into doing reactions with the thought I can't ever watch any movies because then I cant give a first time reaction. It's inevitable that at some point you've likely seen a few movies.
This movie in particular is really cool because Jon Favreau like picked Robert Downey Junior and saw what he could become. When nobody in Hollywood would give RDJ a shot, Jon did! And pretty much did the same with Star Wars in the mandalorian 🙈 the technology he and the team at ILM invented for that show as well as this movie has massive effects on the film industry! And I love that I grew up with Jon’s content to consume! ✌️🤙
The first suit up of the Mk II was absolutely epic. I've never seen a more awesome suiting up scene than that before or since. The music build up throughout the construction scene, building up to that awesome crescendo when Tony flies out the Mk II suit out of his drive way is the GOAT.
Of all the times I've seen friends or online reactors watching this movie, I've never heard anyone say, "wait, there's only room for one person in that suit"... epic phrase of the day!
24:38 Director: Good, kids! But keep your eyes forward, ok? You're looking at Iron Man! ...Get them some more ice cream, and do it again. Kid 1: How long can we keep this going? Kid 2: I figure we can get at least three more cones each, out of him!
"Does he sleep?" By what I understand most really successful people only on average get like 4 hours of sleep a day. I think they subtlety put that aspect into Tony Stark.
I have heard some famous historic people had adrenaline levels in their blood that would have killed a normal human. It is a known fact that the brain is highly unique and some people's mind never quiets down completely which can interfere with their sleep. They have a boosted creativity at the cost of attention span and long term memory. In the movie, Tony also has a problem with remembering people's names and managing his personal life...
In the novelisations it actually says that Tony hardly sleeps and most of the time he ends up spending days working in his garage without sleep because he gets so into the work he doesn't notice the passage of time.
I forgot how violent this movie was. Terrorism, torture, burning people to death. Wild stuff. Guess the later movies aren’t much less violent but they’re more fantastical which takes away from the impact of the violence.
You may know that in the comics Tony made his identity as Iron Man public a long time ago, but he had the secret identity thing going on for a long time, with the cover that Iron Man was his body guard (who was never around Tony). The secret identity thing doesn't make sense for many heroes. Especially someone with an ego like Tony Stark. I always think of the lines from Community. "Are you Superman?" "No" "Would you tell me if you were Superman?" "I'd tell everyone"
Yinsen was intentionally shooting in the Air... Doctors take an Oath Never to take a Life, and he was one that took it Seriously. That's one of many Reasons he was a good man.
@@solaire2271 Better the blood should be on Tony's hands? The real reason he fired into the air is movie ratings and rules. Shooting a machine gun directly at people is too "obvious" in its violence and deadliness. Death on the screen has to be somewhat abstracted in order to get the PG-13 rating.
@@PhilBagels Dafuq do you mean "And it's better to be on Tony's hands"? Tony's been ready to get his hands dirty since the minute he saw that his weapons were in the hands of terrorists on top of already having the moniker "The Death Merchant" for profiting off of hundreds of people's deaths with his technology. It's only here that he realizes just the weight of indiscriminate blood he's already spilt. And Yinsen helped Tony realize that it's not too late to make things right, he has so much more to offer and prove during his life Yinsen didn't have anything to prove, he's already accepted his death the moment his family died. But he wanted his last acts on Earth helping someone, not killing anyone. The fact that you took that stance of argument makes me think you're a person who looked too deep behind the curtain of film and can't analyze characters without seeing a political or script based angle anymore.
@@solaire2271 Yinsen isn't an idiot. They killed his family. Do you think he wants the terrorists to live? So maybe they can kill someone else's family, too? That if he doesn't kill them, they'll change their ways and volunteer in hospitals? That if he doesn't kill them, Tony will also let them live? That leaving them alive will do any good whatsoever? What better help could he have given to Tony, and to the rest of the world at that moment, than to kill the terrorists? The fact that you took that stance of argument makes me think you're a person who doesn't know good from evil, or at least doesn't understand how movie ratings and marketing work.
Marvel has always been so amazing at building characters. Everybody has their purpose and what drives them and they stay consistent in that over the course of 20+ movies. But after rewatching this with you I noticed something I never noticed before. Although Tony is thought to be the selfish and cocky playboy, the line around 35:35 really got me with chills. Tony says "There is nothing but this, there is no art opening, there is no benefit, there is nothing to sign! There is nothing but the next mission, and nothing else". And that mindset is something that I think falls 100% in line with Captain Americas was of thinking. And yet their initial relationship is built off of Tony being the opposite of Cap. Just never really clicked until now watching this that Tony really was changed in his heart from the very first movie it just took a while.for others to see it.
One of these movies I will not forget. It was my birthday, we celebrated at the Hard Rock and afterwards we all went to see this movie. Me and 10 of my coworkers.
27:19 - Fun fact - Iron Man Director Jon Favreau originally wanted Rachel McAdams to play Pepper Potts. She declined, not knowing how popular Iron Man was in the Marvel comics (and certainly unaware of what the MCU would become). She lobbied for it and eventually was cast and joined the MCU family.
I just joined your Patreon so that I can go through this journey with you of the MCU. It's probably my favorite thing to do, watching people be introduced to this, for whatever reason. All you have to do is keep an open mind. I know it seems daunting when you see that it's 14 years and going and movies and TV shows, but really, you'll be caught up before you know it. I've seen many reactors start this journey feeling anxious and when they get caught up, they all say they can't believe how fast it went. Just relax 'cause the MCU is nothin' but fun.

I'm gonna need reactors to realize Tony is so wealthy bc of his mind that his cars nor house mean anything to him. He can always replace and rebuild so he doesn't care if they get damaged or how. We need to see it from his perspective. He doesn't not care about fucking up his cars or home bc he's wealthy enough to replace it.
Its really the interactions between the characters that we keep coming back for. I mean, yeah they're action-oriented comicbook films in the universe we comic readers all know and love, and thats all well and great and everything, but the most compelling thing about these films is the way the characters are humanized and relateable and it's the dialogue and interactions between characters when nothing supposedly "super" is going on that keeps us coming back. Iron Man is really jsut a suit without Tony piloting it, but we also love JARVIS, Pepper Potts, HAppy Hogan, and Rhodey.....okay, Obadiah not so much he's a big bald JERK! lol They cast this film so well, got a lot of top tier talent interested in the project, the script is fire, and a lot of it was improvisational, and you feel it all coming off the screen. Iron Man is the perfect character to introduce this world.....universe, now.
Blue, your reactions in this video and your other previous ones have been adorable. You are going to enjoy this series so much as it only gets better and better.

Nice to see someone going on this journey. :) Just keep in mind that fair use length of video might be pushing it as long as this one is. It would be a shame if you got a strike. Maybe your friend who is guiding you could give some advice on how long other reactors have made theirs.
Every fan has their beginning…and you have two months to catch up, until the latest one comes out in December. 😉 Just make sure to watch through the end credits (some films have two scenes: one during and one after), and check out the Marvel One Shot short films under the extras on Disney Plus, to give you a bit more background and side stories to the MCU.
Apart from being a 'Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist' (remember this quote), Tony Starks 'superpower' is his ability to adapt and overcome, you see it here with his modification to overcome the icing up at high altitude, and is played out across the other movies with his different suits :)
I waited on watching the movies myself. I saw a few like the Iron dude movies, the Hulk, and a few more, but then I decided to watch each one in true timeline order. It has been fun. I am at the Black Panther stage (for those that know the timeline).
need to add Superman the movie 1978, it is the first BLOCK BUSTER comic book/ Super hero film and to some still one of the best. "it will make you believe that a man can fly" Also, 1959 Ben Hur winner of 11 academy awards one of the greatest films of all time.
By "someone to guide me through it" you wouldn't happen to mean Magy, the adorably cute bundle of enthusiasm that seems like she's about to erupt like a volcano in most of her intros, would you?
Yinsen is a doctor, he shoots at nothing because he doesn't want to purposely kill anyone. I love Yinsen, true hero of this movie.

He might have drawn on his life experiences when portraying Stark's life change.
... Before his downward spiral he did some excellent work. One of my personal favorites is Heart & Souls.
"Heroes are not born. They're forged in darkness, shaped in battle, Defined by sacrifice." The watcher.
"Heroes aren't born. They're built." - Iron Man trailer
It's gonna be a hell of a ride 🔥
You're gonna enjoy MCU a lot 🙌🔥
Until the newer movies, they've kinda lost their luster after endgame
@White-Viruz ffh was good, bw was late, and SC is lower mid tier. Like I said, the luster has dulled, I'm not saying they are bad. Eternals seems to be disjointed, I'm just saying that the stakes and the overall story does not seem to be the same quality. I want them to get there but from what I'm seeing it's not looking good
I am Groot
Phase 4 movies are good but they lack the relatability like OG6
@@mandeepkumarray9050 you're right bro..

Blue saying "hope he dies" with a cute smile on her face is a total mood (41:51)
Starting the MCU!
I love it
@@ozoapapnews3339 Love to see it
and ending🤣
As a guy, I'd say Tony Stark is the James Bond of the superhero genre - guys want to be him, girls want to be with him. He's just the definition of cool.
Women want him; men want to be him. :D Total agree.
It's easy for men to want to be him when the MCU edits out many personal demons, most notably his addiction to alcohol.
@@douglascampbell9809 True, I recommend reading the Demon in the Bottle storyline in the Iron Man comics.
@@douglascampbell9809 Erm, not to get into spoilers, but a huge part of the Iron Man arc is about Tony's personal demons.
Isn't that also batman?
I remember watching this in the theaters. I couldn't believe that he broke the cardinal superheroe rule: don't tell your secret identity. And, yet, he did.
Yinsen is the MVP for doing all that knowing he intended to die so he could be reunited with his family.
Thank you for that information. I have heard that term before and I only knew that the person was dead never the full meaning
I thought it just referred to buying a certain plot of land-a burial plot.
Your reaction at 9:00 minutes is EXACTLY how everyone else reacted during that part! Hahahaha!
Trixy can't help but gush over guys and girls. A true woman.
BTW, Stan Lee's inspiration for Tony Stark was the real life Howard Hughes (before he went nuts).
Neat! Hughes was always kinda nuts, but even in his decline, he was making huge advances in aviation (eg. the Spruce Goose). Remarkable person.
Still one of my top MCU favorites, and from your reaction I'm sure you're going to absolutely love the first Avengers, looking forward to it!
(Though, technically, The Incredible Hulk [also 2008] was the first.)
Also loved your reaction when he said at the end, "I am Ironman."
Blade!
Everyone forgets that Blade saved Marvel
As I recall, Incredible Hulk came out a month or two later, but they were close to the same time.
No, Hulk was second
The look of absolute contempt and frustration when Obadiah gets out of the car to meet with the ten rings is just so perfect xD Can't wait to see more of the Marvel movies from you!
can't wait to watch more!
To me the proof that tony got his hands dirty even before the cave was him tinkering on the car engine before 7am
Iron man one of my favorite heroes
Batman, Spider-man, Iron man, wolverine, supergirl.
Along with Daredevil
Blue, "I wish I was a genius billionaire." Everyone else," you forgot playboy, philanthropist."

"If I was his mother I would have died a long time ago"
Well about that....
Considering the "I am Iron Man" line was ad-libbed by RDJ, imagine what the MCU would have looked like if they kept to the intended secret identity route
Best to watch these in release order. There are too many spoilers (especially in the MCU) across the different hero movies. Don't forget to watch the extra scene(s) after the credits.
when Tony shoots the window/doors you can see his reflection for a reason, he's shooting his old self
Never thought of that. Good point!
"Its getting really popular for a while... like all my life" It does seem like its been that long hasn't it. It really is that expansive. But I'm glad you're finally tackling it. Enjoy!
"Everybody be acting tough until the flamethrowers start... throwing... flames."
Hahaha... This is going to be a fun ride.
From this movie, always remember:
cheeseburgers
the sound of him hammering in the cave, working on the suit
that last line to end the movie: I am Iron Man
and Yinsen... always remember Yinsen.
OMG waited so long for you to start the MCU... I predict cheers and tears! Great reaction!
Wow I just finished watching someone else’s MCU reactions and then you just show up on my home page. Perfect timing
at 47:00 you are describing what made Marvel special. As Stan Lee once said, and this is a paraphrase. The secret to making a great superhero is to give him a superpower but then after that, make everything else as realistic as possible. This person has faults, struggles, and the dialog is realistic.
22:56 "Why in the garage!? At least take the cars out!" .
You're a woman after my own heart! I was thinking the same thing when I first saw this.
Tony's your typical garage tinkerer. His just has better toys than most.
in america in WW2, if a soldier was killed his family would get some money.
Yeah, she'd already seen LOTR and those reactions turned out great.
Blue: Stick with him until the end!
Pepper: Then I quit!
You might also enjoy "Swingers". Kinda '90s, but a lot of fun. Never quite got the credit it deserved, I thought.
As a Marvel fan myself, I'm excited for you to see the Marvel movies.
Weird Science is a fun movie, with a glimpse of Robert Downey Jr., just getting his start in movies.
welcome to the family!!!!
Every MCU movie except 1 so far have post-credit scenes so make sure to stick around
"Are you Superman?"
"No"
"Would you tell me if you were Superman?"
"I'd tell everyone"
Yinsen was intentionally shooting in the Air... Doctors take an Oath Never to take a Life, and he was one that took it Seriously. That's one of many Reasons he was a good man.
Well, they take an oath to do no harm to their patients. They don't take an oath to not defend themselves or others against criminals or terrorists.
@@PhilBagels Or perhaps he didn't want blood on his hands before he saw his family. Deserving or not.
And Yinsen helped Tony realize that it's not too late to make things right, he has so much more to offer and prove during his life
Yinsen didn't have anything to prove, he's already accepted his death the moment his family died.
Ya I’m so glad. U got started on the marvel universe. Ur going to fall in love with so many characters. Love u blue. Keep up the good work. 💙💙💙
Someone else taking the leap into the MCU. To quote Nick Fury, "You've just become part of a much bigger world, Trixy."
And yet she ended up being the wife of Dr. Strange later.
I absolutely love your reaction. Some of these people that react to the marvel universe are so boring, but not you, you are a lot of fun!
Yep, it's one of the best of the MCU for sure.
3 movies in and I can't wait for the rest!!

Yay, Blue is on the MCU wagon! 😃
“I’m here to talk to you about the Avenger Initiative.”
And the rest was history.
"I wish _I_ was a genius billionaire." Don't we all... 😝
The tube is known as a NG tube. It is placed in the stomach to prevent vomiting for some patients.

Nice to see someone going on this journey. :) Just keep in mind that fair use length of video might be pushing it as long as this one is. It would be a shame if you got a strike. Maybe your friend who is guiding you could give some advice on how long other reactors have made theirs.
this film introduced Phil Coulson a character so beloved he has a place in ALL marvel media
Every fan has their beginning…and you have two months to catch up, until the latest one comes out in December. 😉
Just make sure to watch through the end credits (some films have two scenes: one during and one after), and check out the Marvel One Shot short films under the extras on Disney Plus, to give you a bit more background and side stories to the MCU.
"So dumb."
"You think I'm a fool?"
"Did I stutter?"
Man here. We love him too.
HELL YEAH! I can't wait to see all the MCU reactions.
Robert Downey Jr. improvised the”I am Iron Man” line but Kevin Feige and Jon Favreau loved it

"I got caught doing a piece for Vanity Fair." 🙈 Yeah, that "piece" was blonde.
IT HAS BEGUN!!! ❤️
"Everyone be acting tough until the flamethrowers start throwing... flames..." 🤣
need to add Superman the movie 1978, it is the first BLOCK BUSTER comic book/ Super hero film and to some still one of the best. "it will make you believe that a man can fly"
Also, 1959 Ben Hur winner of 11 academy awards one of the greatest films of all time.
By "someone to guide me through it" you wouldn't happen to mean Magy, the adorably cute bundle of enthusiasm that seems like she's about to erupt like a volcano in most of her intros, would you?
As a man, I love Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark; he's the classic "women want to sleep with him, men want to be him"
Yinsen saying don't waste your life hits so much harder after the end of the infinty saga
