im using same mignon, then bought different kind of blow up system online (3d printing) for single dosing. when i measure before after grind, the difference is almost zero retention. but upon opening the the grinder for cleaning, i saw many leftovers ground inside. so the best way to measure how good is the bellow is to do the grinder cleaning inside before measuring the coffee weight before and after. although i still believe the 3d print bellow is a great to help achieve closer to retention for any standard espresso grinder. it does improve my single dosing for frequent change of origin beans. i also see you using base to lean the grinder, does it help to improve zero retention? i was think to get one after see the new mignon.
Hello. I just ordered your hopper and bellow for my Mignon Notte/Manuale. I’m new to single dosing and learning aside from retention there is a concern about popcorning causing grind inconsistencies. Any experiences with that or too negligible? Also, does this hopper mod help with popcorning?
What's the point of this video? Can the new grinder do better than my current one? Oh, by the way...I don't have the new one so I can't compare them, sowwy
Nope... got lazy. I'm not really a youtuber :) However, I will say that I haven't used my Mignon since I got my DF64. It's just much more convenient for switching between espresso and pour over. Also, the 64mm SSP burrs are pretty amazing at producing really good pour overs with high clarity. Something I was never able to do with the mignon.
I've actually stopped using my Mignon. The DF64 is just way more consistent. Not as noticeable on espresso, but definitely for regular coffee... which actually I never used my Mignon for. The fact that I can do both with one grinder is a no-brainer for sticking with the DF64.
@@rmanalan Interesting! I have a DF64 but for some reason I still have a crush on the Eurekas, so I would love to be able to try one. But none are local to me..
Aaaayyyy, you used my photo! Great video dude. What have you noticed from the tilt base? How much difference does it really make? I am VERY much looking forward to the DF64 comparison by the way… Been looking at that grinder myself
Ahhh .. thx for the photo. I should have add attributions.... Sorry about that. I like the df64... But mostly because it allows me to grind for pour over too. For espresso, I don't notice that big of a difference. From a retention standpoint, the mignon with the bellows seems to do better. To be fair, I don't adjust the grind dial much on the mignon while I do switch the df64 from espresso to pour over quite a bit... That might have something to do with it.
@@rmanalan That makes total sense. How about going from 50mm burrs to 64mm? Do you get a more consistent grind? There’re no issues with credit by the way man. I wasn’t bothered in the least. Just excited to see “myself” in your video is all
@@samburchard1778 yes, it's very consistent. I got the SSP unimodal (aka multipurpose) burrs. For pour overs it's really nice. My v60s are way more pronounced. For espresso, I don't notice much since I'm usually making milk drinks.
@@rmanalan I gotcha. I use my espresso for milk drinks most of the time too, so it doesn’t matter that much for me either. I have managed to pull some fantastic drink-on-their-own shots with the notte though, so I really don’t have any huge reasons to upgrade at the moment
>Can the DF64 do better than my Eureka Mignon single-doser?
"I don't know."
What's the point of this video then?

??? where is the actually announced comparison??? ;-((( I see a more or less advertising like reel for accessories
nice little video, why did you stop making these?
I just wish there is cheaper way of shopping. I really wanna get the whole set but shipping to AUS from Etsy cost me half the price of the product. 😭
Hi I have your products. Have you seen any changes in the burrs using a water spray bottle?
Nope
Was the specialita much more quiet compared to the df64?
Hey great Video! Where you get your water spray bottle from?
Greetings from germany

In my experience, popcorning issues are overblown. Basically, don't worry about it.
The hopper and the bellows exist for the Eureka ATOM?

@@rmanalan interesting. I am indecisive about buying my next grinder and keep going back and forth. Thanks for the opinion
Where did you get the beautiful wood dosing collar with the special cutout?

Not too worried abt retention. Consistency is more important.
Atom better than XL for consistency?

So where's your DF64 video? you never actually got one did you? Clickbait?
Lol ... No actually I've replaced my mignon with it 😂. Just haven't had time to create a video yet. Love the df64.
@@rmanalan Will you be making a bellows for the DF64?
