I shot this video for a fellow RUclips who has a 1988 Dodge Dakota. I shot it with my iPhone so please forgive any shacking in the video.

Thank you so very much for making and posting this video I went out to take a look under the hood of Ian's truck and they definitely have some hoses not connected correctly so they will greatly appreciate this! I will have Ian let you know but again thank you!!!!!

trying to diagnose a no start on 89 3.9L. the Throttle body injectors were just dripping, it should be spraying. i want to the check the vacuum line on the pressure regulator, thanks for showing the location. do you have a video on how to set the distributor timing? it seems to rotate quite freely even when the bolt is tight. replaced the ignition coil and no change.

I don't have any videos on how to set the distributor timing. I replaced the distributor once and accidently put it in backwards. That was fun trying to figure that one out. Hope you're able to figure it out. :)

What part is that @2:25? And since your not using the smog pump does it matter on using the canister and other vacuum lines that go to the 3 purge solenoids?? 1 more question. What part is the other plug that's on your firewall that has the yellow outline or gasket around it?

Ro Tex Underground I don't have my repair manual with me but you could take the video to a mechanic and they should be able to tell you the name of the parts you're looking at in the video. Not sure on the vacuum lines that go to the 3 purge solenoids. Sorry I couldn't help but if I have not worked on a specific area of the Dodge I may not know the specific names or operating procedures.

I think that is either an egr selenoid or map sensor

Hey show the vacuum hose that works the egr valve valve and there’s a vacuum hose that comes out of the black sheathing close by the air pump I need to know what it goes to

Hey Grumpy, I'm sorry but I'm currently not able to shoot a video for that truck. If you're needing it soon I would check with a parts store. Here's another video I shot that may help with some of the other vacuum lines. ruclips.net/video/kHyKRDlx7JU/видео.html

I have a 1987 dodge Dakota 3.9l v6 carb that I would like to convert to fuel injection. But I cant seem to find anything about. Can you help?

Hey Tyler, I’ve never done that type of work so I’m not sure. Sorry I couldn’t help. What I would do is call and auto parts store and ask them how to do that. If it can be done you’d need to take the carburetor off and use a throttlebody instead.

not trying to be a dick but next time you work on any vehicle please list the liter of engine your working on cars come in many models and it is confusing as hell for me to know whether your working on a 8 cylinder, 6 cylinder, or a 4 cyclinder.
