Important to note that rainbow stones will stick to whatever surface they contact. If that surface is slippery, like a ledge or small outcropping you can't stand on, it will appear like you can stand there. So don't use them to check that.
i've played over 400hrs in this game and today i learned even more things i didn't know were in the game , thanks for the vid
You can also open the map and press Y and then A super fast to travel to ANY bonfire. Say you fall and don’t wanna die- map, Y, A BOOM death averted
Several of these are just so dope. Holding down or up to reset list...genius. like it's so subtle and smooth.
500 hours on the game, I didn't know about the R3 mechanic when consuming runes hahah. Thank you Cohn
Cohh's learned fear of gravity is very apparent in the first few tips. 😄
Great info and several things I didn't know!
I usually just go to a vendor and sell the Golden runes. It's by far the fastest way to use em. Plus there's almost always a grace right by vendors where i can quickly use those runes so i don't lose them.
Amazing video. Great tips. Several were new to me!
Put all your flasks and the horse whistle in your belt. Easy button presses to get them off at short notice and no cycling
I've done it your way all the way through the main game, but I found it it's somewhat of a problem in the DLC cuz everything's so much faster. I'm almost thinking of switching back. Or at least putting my healing flask back on the bar and maybe leaving the blue one in the pouch.
@@grogueQI’m playing like that, hp flask on normal and mana on the Y+direction.. among with horse, summon, lantern
It's plenty fast enough on the belt with muscle memory. My setup is...
Y-up: FP flask
Y-down: HP flask
Y-right: Torrent
Y-left: physick
Lantern and telescope go on the other two slots because they don't need to be used in combat
This was actually super helpful! Even though i had 200+ hours in this game, I dint know the jump, crystal dart, and Mogh token return. Incredible
Awesome! Glad they helped :)
These were actually extremely helpful tricks, some that I didn't know of before. Thanks! The "Charged Jump" thing is a gamechanger
Sprint Jump ! Holy crap. Thank you so much for this tip. 150 hours in, many failed jumps and now this!
11:04 I prefer to use the ancestral infants head item over hoarfrost stomp. I find it lingers a bit more and works on inclines where HS doesnt
Little note about selling runes to vendor, the sell price is what you get for using them, so you can more accurately use the ones you need to level up for example, without having 50k leftover for example because you used a much higher rune than you needed.
This is helpful but reliving the painful deaths Cohh dealt with hurts the soul all over again! On a real note, watching you play has helped me with my Faith build and getting the right buffs. Thanks for the tips Cohh!
Shackles are similarly useful for knocking down the stacked rocks around sealed spiritsprings.
I wonder if they work on the death blight eyes...
@@Myron90 They don't. It has to be something you can hit.
@@NickCombs ok thanks. I've seen that black blade takes out the death blight eyes and black flame too I think
@@Myron90 Hmm I didn't know that. Thanks for the tip
The crystal darts also work on the golem smiths in the forges. When you see two of them near each other, using a few darts is way faster (and safer) than trying to crit their backs.
This is such a good idea for you to do with each game, between your own knowledge and chat you can make quick tip vids like these and help everyone out with a lot of games :) thanks for these cohh
this is a rare video, where I'd like it twice if I could
A lot of this stuff I remember from previous ER "tips & tricks" vids when the game was newer, or just from my time playing. It's been a couple years though, and certain things (mostly button prompts) are foggy in my memory. My friends and I are picking the game up again prepping for the DLC, and this was a good refresher.
There were a couple I was unaware of, for instance, I was under the impression that the shackles were 1-use items, I didn't know you kept them (mostly because I didnt use them in my initial playthrough). I also didnt know the trick with the crystal darts, which is infinitely helpful, since those boss fights tend to get incredibly frustrating later on in the game.
Good stuff.
a few more for you-
using block cancels a bunch of minor animations. want to pick up an item off the ground without having your character stop for a second? hold block. Want to quickly change direction? blocking prevents the pivot animation which locks you in place and can easily get you killed. fell off a big ledge and want to stand up a bit quicker? press block. Need to grab a riposte with a colossal sword but that heavy backswing is too slow? Blocking cancels the recovery, letting you grab that sweet crit. Blocking is awesome, you should use it.
For the charged jump segment if you’re running and jumping sometimes you do lil baby jumps that basically don’t take you forward but if you’re blocking you don’t do those baby jumps
Seriously these tips is extremely useful helpful amazing and not just some random known ones.
Great job showing hidden details 👍🏻
I'm not sure if this has been covered but, if you die in a boss fight and lose a lot runes, go back to the boss fight, pick it up, save quit. You'll restart outside the boss arena with your runes.
I've dumb smarted the game on this one 😅
Super guide ive clicked on a bunch of YT ER tips vids, but this one is easily the most useful and concise and different from the rest thank you!!
If you attack while stand on the edge of a drop you think will kill you, and you dont drop down, that means the drop will kill you. If youre attacking or swinging you weapon and your attacks allow you to drop down then you will survive.if the drop is too high your.attacks will stop you feom going over the edge and thats a cool mechanic most people arent hip too as well.
You can 100% sprint in lava. I do it and I just checked again to make sure. I think your resistances/damage mitigation determines it. I'm wearing the Solitude set and can sprint through lava and anything else just like on regular ground.
For the group passwords and messages, if you have the same community or group passwords and someone defeats a shardbearer or beats the game you get a 5% rune boost for a while
Wow I hardly knew any of those, nice tips
THIS VIDEO IS AMAZING THANK YOU. i have been not enjoying caster due to swapping items, the hold trick will change this!
I learned 6 things from this, that is the most I have learned in a single video about tips, most tips videos really give out the same tips that are easily learned by playing and paying attention decently enough but these are all useful tips. Thank you for this.
Nice information! I just learned that thing with simple view to use runes a few days ago. I was so relieved
Easily the best tips video I've seen. Thanks
Damn, that telescope trick is so much easier than getting off Torrent, facing the way I want to and then resummoning him so I'm facing the right way!!
addendum to the shackles: it will also destroy the Tree Sentinel chariots in the Auriza Hero's Grave by raising the pedestral, just dont do it in the Gelmir Heroes Grave cause you need one to go through the lava
That was helpful, I'm going to use those tips next playthrough
Great tips, great editing! 🙌🏻
Dude that mohg teleport trick is the shit. I've never seen that before and never heard of it, incredible.
Loved the crystal dart and sprint jump thx. Message appraisal only helped me maybe twice in boss fights and same on the road.
The only one i didn't know about was using the stomp (cause i use rainbow stones) to reveal invisible walkways. Most of the time I'm the one telling friends about these things, so this video is super useful cause i can just send them this instead of explaining 3 or 4 of these in a row.
Also want to say, for the sprint jump, you don't need to specifically jump and hold sprint in the middle of that jump to do a standing sprint jump. You can also press start (open menu) and press _and hold_ back/sprint for however long it takes to be "sprinting" (like 0.2 seconds or something). really you just need to be able to press and hold your sprint button during an action that stops you from backstepping.
very helpful for me as a 1st time player of soulsborne game. thank you!
This list is so good. The way I gasped about the bit with the shackle... AND THE MOHG PALACE PORT CHEESE?? Subbed and appreciated, brother.
Most of these also works in previous souls games too great tips
All but 2 of these were news to me and I've watched like every tips and tricks vid out there
Good transitions and editing
I thought I knew all the little tricks, but you got me! Didn't know about the mohgwyn teleport to save my runes
Some of these are really awesome and I had no idea!
Lots of these I did not know, near 65 hours in game. Thank you Cohh!
Great video with really useful tips, thanks!
This is a great video, with some really great tips that are actually very useful.. I didn't know quite a few of these 👍
Great tips, thank you!!
was very helpful thx !
great vid my man, thanks
Great tips I didn’t know of a few of them!
This was sick! Thanks!
Great video, I learned a bunch
OMG, I have the Margit Shackle and never knew about the long range 0 damage hit very helpful!
Good job, video looks great!
That moving backwards thing cracked me up, literally never thought of that
Hahaha these are awesome. Well done!
I only knew like 2 of these but I'm not that new to the game, I'm already an Elden lord but most of these I've never even think about something similar. Kewl, you definitely changed my tricks repertoire
Awesome, on my first play through, thanks bro 👍
Interesting tips, thanks for sharing!
I told myself I will leave a like if there is ONE thing I didn't know. I left a like after watching the video for 1 min 50 s.
Can't believe I hadn't heard of so many of these tips! Cheers mate
Awesome tips, Cohh!
Thanks for the tips!
Over 80 hours and still didnt know that Mogh's shackle reveals hidden doors. I am mindblown, thanks for the video~!!!
that charged jump blew my mind
The Pureblood Knight Medal trick is a legit lifesaver... u da man!
The Shackle tech also works for players using the mimic veil, if theyre being sneaky and trying to play hide and seek when youre invading them you can break their illusion from afar!
I found (xbox) mashing b+a quickly with moving can get a sprinting jump, also two handing my halberd helps get a better jump (sometimes i have a shield or the dragon head)
Holy shit, thanks, bro. Keep up the nuanced tips
Damn that lava trick is legitimately how i run from shit in my dreams!! When i try to run and i can't because i actually realize its a dream i get semi-lucid and start running backwards in tiny hops.
This had some neat tips.
GREAT TIPS!!
Top tier gaming etiquette. Subbed.
I happened to make a really popular message in the DLC a month ago and it has thousands of appraisals. It helped me beat Bayle, and Radahn. So leave a good message and it pays off!
Subscribed!!!
My favorite tip was the crystal darts. I'm soooo gonna try this on my next playthrough 😂
Great tips
aight yeah, this is a goated af tip video. Thank you Cohh
Like most people here, I have so many hours in this game and still learned so much from your video. You're doing god's work, like and subscribe from me
If you want to traverse lava in the fastest way possible without using FP (so no quickstep/bloodhound step), you should learn how to do the "ravioli step" or reverse backstep, which is tech mostly used in PvP dating back to DS1. Preferably with no weapon, two-handing bare fists for low stamina consumption and a fast attack. The way to do it is, facing forward, press B/circle to backstep, but very quickly flick the left stick backwards before the backstep starts. If you flick too early, you'll just roll backwards; If you flick too late, you'll do a normal backstep; If you flick at the right time, you'll do a backstep in the opposite direction of your flick. Then, quickly do a Light Attack forward (so you do a backstep attack), and repeat. It's harder than just spamming backstep, but it's significantly faster.
Also, for saving yourself from death, it's very useful to learn how to quit out of the game very fast. You can do the whole combination insanley quickly once muscle memory kicks in. It has many advantages over using the Pureblood Knight's Medal. For once, it can be used while falling and it will respawn you next to the ledge you fell from (unless you dropped from a few ledges while spamming rolls, in which case it will spawn you where you were standing before you started rolling). It's also almost instantaneous; in comparisson, the Medal does an animation first during which you can be killed. Like the Medal, quit-out also works during boss fights, but it spawns you right before the fog gate instead of forcing you to go from the Grace to the Boss Gate again. And more importantly, it doesn't respawn the non-boss enemies that you already killed, and it spawns any living enemy that was chasing you back to their original positions.
Awesome video. Never knew about the sprint jump and I have 500 hours lol
That horse rotation tip is incredible dawg lol I never knew that
That Mohg tip is OP
That jump trick earned my sub this day.
Chapter timestamps are behind by about 12 seconds starting from the telescope horse trick ( 1:23 should be ~ 1:35 and so on for remaining chapters )
Good catch, fixed!
For the consumable souks trick you can use them after you press R3 but that still takes a while the fastest way is to sell them and it will give you the runes, fastest person to sell it to is hewg the blacksmith in round table
Also for lava, if you are on a NG+ cycle, it no longer slows you down.
3:20 blew my mind
Dude, roundtable hold comes up as a separate option in the sites of grace menu (at least on PlayStation) - It's just triangle, square
Bruh 11:30. Great tips, thx!
You should set the groups to 1 your pick 2 123 3 1234 4 password 5 pass. Also if someone kills a major boss you get a boost to souls gained
Using frost bombs in malenoas flower dance cancels it. Thunder gets dmg boostes on water, fire weaker, etc etc xd.
Bump for the ol' algorithm. Watched this live, but great job editing team 👍
What! Cohh plays elden ring!! Siiiiiick
Good Tips
I keep a dagger with quickstep for scarlet rot or lava areas
3:44 there's a button for roundtable, no need to do a button dance
