My dude! I have known for years that you are a PHENOMINAL saxophone player, but this is the first teaching video that I have seen from you and it is amazing. Keep up the great work both in performing and teaching!
Improvisation is what a sax really created for! I adore this part. Leo got the point. Experiment, guys. Don't play only those boring standard compositions each day.
So fascinating just musically, even though i don't play sax... Considering taking it up sometime, but for now as a composer, producer and player of several instruments, this is just so eye-opening to how bari works, one innovative player's approach, and many broader musical implications... So even beyond the saxophone community, you and Grace are giving such immeasurable value to the music world and the creativity at large. One love and much gratitude 🎉❤😊
Great stuff Leo... I am so glad to see you teaching finally. I knew it a long time ago as I saw your skills were so intriguing and unique and your playing has inspired me from trumpet to sax. You're amazing.
I can’t play sax but my first car was a Morris Minor 1000 like the one behind Leo. I drove nearly 250,000 miles in that thing. An engineering masterpiece.
Awesome lessons on the octave Leo- playing the tenor about a year but into playing music for over 25years. I could understand your language in where to play in the half notes and the 1/8 notes. I will watch this again before practice each day.
Explained clearly. Really enjoy you're playing you're a phenom I get tired just watching, lol. Especially enjoy you and Grace but nothing is more fun than watching Lucky Moon Zooz. Well done!!
And now I understand!! Will you also be teaching us the “Leo Dance” steps? For some unknown reason they drag me in ! BTW - I’ve never played any type of Sax. Just a Sousephone/Tuba. 😃
I was messing around with killing in the name of the other day (on bari sax and on flute - cos I was in a quiet place). There's some similar stuff going on in there (although the initial jump is a sharp octave)
Due to the extreme censoring going on here at you tube i am working on moving to Rumble.. currently searching everybody i have subscribed to on RUclips over there and saw that you didn't have an account. Id love to continue seeing your content after i leave you tube and was hoping you would be open to my suggestion that you create a Rumble account! :)
Leo your hair is looking fresh like that I just got a barry ben doing music class 4 years I play alto wanted to ask would you recommend the syos mouthpiece for Barry?
I just started playing Bari Sax! And honestly I have a little trouble getting out the low Bb! When I try to play it, it always comes out as a low A when I'm not hitting that key! Got any advice Leo? I'm also ready in love with the Bari Sax and I've been playing Alto since 2020 and I also wanna master the altissimo range on both saxes! Cheers and have a Bari good night!🎷👍😉
You know you remind me of style-wise, Leo? Another fantastic musician, Blue Stahli. I wonder what would happen if you two would do a project together... Could the universe handle this? ;-)
Great video. I know it’s “in” now but I just don’t get the view changing to Leo looking off camera. Why would I want to see the side if his head when he’s talking to me. Forget the camera gimmicks yo I don’t need them. Just look at the camera and give the lesson.
Man this is not easy on an alto :D I only have an alto + am I a beginner. This ain't no easy exercise :D My articulation is horrid and I've never played octave jumps before. But man is it amazing when it works :D
3:54 I’m sorry but this is wrong. I agree octave jumps are actually pretty hard on most instruments, but being a saxophone definitely doesn’t make it easier. Especially bari because the emborchure needs to change so much to avoid playing overtones.
Thanks I'll make sure to add this to my vocabulary. Have a wonderful day to whoever reads this.
Thanks so much!! Hope it helps you on your sax journey!

Really good teaching vibes. Just need a time machine to send this to my middle school self.
Improvisation is what a sax really created for! I adore this part. Leo got the point. Experiment, guys. Don't play only those boring standard compositions each day.
This captures the vibe of those old 80s guitar instruction videos perfectly. The mullet, the t shirt, the inexplicable hot rod. It's amazing.
Not just a sax lesson but a most amazing music lesson
I’m a pianist and I find your saxercises to be very adaptable to the left hand on piano. Thanks, and keep leaning into house style.
This is a real musician!! Not just an entertainer.
You’re a great instructor dude!A natural teacher and you’re have great cadence

Great! This is like 4 lessons in one... months of study material... thx
Leo, you are an inspiration for many saxophone players. Especially young, aspiring musicians. Thank you
Great stuff Leo... I am so glad to see you teaching finally. I knew it a long time ago as I saw your skills were so intriguing and unique and your playing has inspired me from trumpet to sax. You're amazing.

Loads of 80's tunes have the octave jump basslines, Pet Shop Boys & New Order used them a lot, they sound great on the Bari 🎷 Thanks Leo 🥰

Great tutorial man, keep em comin
You reinvented the saxophone. We hope you will come to Europe again :)

I might be adding some of these into my electric bass. Gonna add a whole bunch of spice to my kit.
best cardio video.
Phenomenal lesson Leo!
Great Demonstration, & as a Fellow Bari Player I'll Utilize it, But I'm More Interested in What Car that is in the Backround
very good explained 😊
Watching this without being a sax player... I feel like I'm letting Leo down.
Wow, maestro! Come and do a masterclass in Scotland!
Explained clearly. Really enjoy you're playing you're a phenom I get tired just watching, lol. Especially enjoy you and Grace but nothing is more fun than watching Lucky Moon Zooz. Well done!!

This seems like great advice for bass solos too.
Leo has taken a cold drink outta the rePhrygerator and cracked it open. Served with plenty o' spice!
Thank you Leo P, very fat like ❤

Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing this video!
Ya’ll learning from a maestro!

It's so sad that I am a beginner and I don't understand what You are talking about and don't know how to find out...
This got me stoked to start playing baritone sax, then I went to look at how much one costs😢
It’s getting harder and harder to keep my feet still when I play 😆 no need!
😎👍🏽
