Really love how nice Scott Campbell’s new designs look. Just a great continuation of the first game’s visual style.
You glorious bastards! You did it, you made an even better game than the original. Now I need to know who wrote and animated Raz’s face in the pancake scene with Sam respectively. His look of sheer horror after her little monologue is forever engrained in my mind.

@@emdo2395 It exceeds all my expectations and I was a fan of the first since teh first G4 trailer drop.
And yeah, Sam is hands down the best of the Interns imo. Knew she was Dogans sister just from her character design and manerisms alone, that's damn fine art direction (not a spoiler cuz her last name gives it away basicaly the first time you meet her). Was a nice touch she saw you as a squirell.
@@emdo2395 Yes, in terms of story, writing, and art direction it’s 9.5 to 10. I definitely recommend it as a game but it’s certainly not without nits to pick. The game takes control away from the player too often and even though I love the writing and animation work, feeling locked out of control does get to be too much. I know they are proud of their writing, but I really wish they’d allow you to skip forward line by line and not just whole cutscenes. Especially when you interact with a character and they start repeating dialogue you’ve already heard. Second is on PS4 at least, the button mapping doesn’t allow you to map the powers efficiently. Like I’d muuuuuch rather have consumables and photo modes tucked away in a radial menu or submenu than have to regularly swap out Psy powers. It does somewhat interrupt the flow of gameplay even if it sounds minor on paper. I do honestly hope they listen to the fans because I think patching at least skip-able lines but especially psy power button mapping would be a small change that makes a really big difference.

I remember playing the first game freshman year of high school and being so hyped when I saw the trailer for the sequel, now I’m in college. Time sure flys by haha can’t wait to finally play some more psychonauts!
So happy for the Double Fine team! So much hard work, finally paying off. You all did AMAZING. Thanks for taking your time, avoiding crunch, and showing the AAA industry good, fun games can be made without all the worst parts of ingrained, toxic culture in so much of the gaming industry.
This game was one of the best game i have played last year.
So excited to finally get my hands on this masterpiece! I grew up on this game and am now an adult, I cannot wait to finally be in the universe again!

Psychonauts 1 is an underrated gem, and I’m glad I finally got around to playing it.
Fingers crossed for the return of the milk man, his milk is delicious.
1: Good luck beating this game in a day without intentionaly missing out on the content/speedrunning it.
2: Boyd is overated and if you played the first game you'd know there is no reason for him to be in it.
Game is amazeballs so far though.

I recommend the first one. Story-wise, you'd be pretty okay watching a recap video, but there's a ton humor that's best experienced firsthand.
@@mikeredline27 Usually I’d say you’re right but in this case, I miss this type of game and Sly Cooper was a favorite growing up so I’m willing to fully support (buy full price, maybe twice) this game.
Still cherish the memory I went into a blockbuster when I was 10 and fell in love with the first one over a weekend.
You guys knocked it out of the park with this sequel. So happy/proud of you guys.

This was a fantastic game much like the first, really enjoyed it.
I hope with the success of this game will bring us more Double Fine games in the future.

Never had the opportunity to play the original, didn’t realize I could have played it in PS4. I plan on laying both games over the next couple weeks. They look phenomenal.
The original Psychonauts is simply a watershed game. A once in a generation gem that could absolutely stand on it's own as one of the greatest games of all time. But a sequel, especially one so lovingly crafted and not just shoved out to make a quick buck, makes it better.

Lets see now... 2021 - 2005 = 16 years since the game came out. Double that places you around 32 years old. Not that I'm judging. I'm turning 40 this October. ;p
After time to time I sent my prayers to see if Psychonauts gets a sequel. And now, to my..no..our gaming hearts and minds to keep this series alive and now here it is, as it becomes a great psychic reality come true.

I took Thursday and Friday off to really enjoy the game and explore everything. I haven't been this excited for a game in forever!!

Thankyou. Discovered the first game by way of the excellent (now defunct) Australian gaming magazine 'Total Gamer' back in 2005 who summarised it as "Fun. Funny. Best Game Ever". Finally found a copy for myself in 2007 & Psychonauts went on to become my favourite game & a strong influence throughout my teenage years. & now, years later, here we are & I am so thrilled to have just commenced the sequel & to see the delicious humour, gripping artstyle & compelling world still intact; not only intact, but polished & ready to receive the accolades it so deserves. Much love to Tim & the Double Fine team & all the people that Psychonauts has touched or is about to.

I feel like this game was made for me! Already played a little bit and took me back to GameCube/PS2 era platformers. Love the James Bond styled trailer. Definitely feels like a passion project.

Just platinumed the game on PS5 and it was one of the most well polished and well crafted games I ever played. An absolute treat to play through and i hope we get a DLC in the future (maybe a level based in Otto Mentalises mind? Or augustuses mind?)

Psychonauts may have aged well, but Psychonauts 2 looks like it has been 16 years since the original, yet staying to true to its heart. That is mind-blowing!
Also, why'd I never know until now that Elijah Wood made it in!? I could cry to that, but I'll drink instead.

I played so many games the last 20 years and that was the first I honestly laughed a few times. Everything is lovely and charming. Psychonauts 2 is a pearl in the current commercial and lifeless gaming world.
