Psychonauts sold so horribly when it first came out, I never thought it'd get a sequel.
This game is proof, that if you put enough effort and originality into your work. It pays off. Never been so excited for a game until now.

Dude the original is one of my top 5 games of all time. It flew under the radar and was seriously underrated.

@@TheGingiGamer Some of the old LucasArts characters might not be able to appear since Double Fine doesn’t own them, they only licensed them from Disney. I think Eddie Riggs could make an appearance tho

Honestly deserves consideration for GAME OF THE YEAR. What an amazing experience.
I want this with a Psychonauts remastering. Everyone I talk to about the OG has never played, and the world needs to know what a trip that was!
It's on Steam for, like £7 and it still looks great. I don't even think it needs a remaster. Everyone should go and pick it up.

@@spookyknife4645 I always thought that the camera controls were decided by the player. You start the tutorial and Cruller asks you to look right and whichever direction you you take the mouse, that's how the camera controls are.

This trailer gave me so much nostalgia can't wait for this game to come out, I've always loved the psychedelic aspect to it

The trailer didn’t really tell me what is going on, but awesome all the same! Welcome back, Raz!
Still love coming back to this trailer years later.
The difference in the song from the release, the different take and shots made to not spoil, changing the timing and order of everything so it's like the level is played differently.
And the beginning and end are perfect.
Starting with the brain in the jar and Raz telling it's been a long time.
Entering just like in the game, no trailer bait and switch. And entering into the dark void at first.
The giant Vision suddenly giving a huge perspective on perception. Then Raz jumps out, completely breaking the viewer's expectation of scale, like it's a sixth sense that's disoriented.
Like depth.
Then at the end it goes into overload with the music scrambling along with the colors with Raz ending with finding his footing flashing the title of the game and then we're back outside with just the brain and the door shutting.
The best part being nothing. The trailer doesn't end and go to title screen. It stays in the silence. Letting the viewer face what just happened, and all of this is right now in this lonely simple brain in nowhere.
Usually trailers quickly shows title and other companies with names and goes "that's it bye"
Showing everything you need to know about the game and it's setting.
Showing the base stuff and some repeated and iconic moments without any story of anything.
You don't even know why he jumps into a lonely brain and it makes no sense. Curiosity.
This level is incredible. Probably the most beautiful level I've seen in a game in a long time.

DoubleFine are one of my favorite devs. All their games have such a unique style to them.
Yes finally i mean how long has it been. Part one was way ahead of its time and still playable. Love this gem of a game.
I haven't played the first but I am actually interested in picking this up. Based on how the first one ended do you think new players will be able to jump in to this one with no context or do you think the first one should be played in order to understand the story/characters?

When i saw Double Fine Logo and Jack Black wearing a Brutal Legend tshirt i thought it was gonna be Brutal Legend 2....got my hopes up for a moment but i like this too

I like the little detail of the Psycho-Portal (that’s what the tiny door is called) clicking to the brain when Raz gently put it in the tank.

Welcome back
Revisited Psychonauts to see if my nostalgia was misplaced from a decade plus ago. I can truly say without a doubt, minus the last level having an extreme difficulty spike, it was a fantastic game with probably the most imaginative characters, plot, and levels I’d ever experienced. For its’ time the graphics truly were incredible and only now could I appreciate how much work went into the level of detail, commentary (voice acting is fantastic) and humor that made Psychonauts incredible. Don’t get me wrong there’s been plenty of incredible games after, but that game really stood the test of time and captivates you with a certain charm I haven’t experienced from many games before. A game that makes you hope urgently that the sequel is just around the corner
I want to play the first game again. I remember having blast with the weirdness
Just keep in mind that they nerfed the Meat Circus in the Steam version.

I nearly had a stroke when I thought this was going to be an X-Box exclusive considering I played the original on my PS2
The original was supposed to be exclusive to Xbox, Microsoft just gave up publishing at the end.
This will be on PS4, but there is no guarantee of optimizations for PS5
Xbox likely would have changed it to an exclusive had Playstation and PC gamers not given money to the project. They bought DF pretty early into PN2's development. Kinda scary to think about 🤣
