So I’ve watched several of your videos and - first off, I really like that you don’t edit when a part/bolt/panel is being difficult to remove. I appreciate that instead of you just showing a seemingly seamless process during an install that indicates a simple process - you actually show the true hassle that sometimes comes with working on a Ryker. Seriously, thank you for doing that. I have installed a few upgrades or added items to my Ryker in the past few months and frequently I’ve cursed my Ryker and the difficult issues that -kind of- frequently arise. Anyways, since you have a large knowledge of Ryker stuff I wanted to ask you a question about the sway bar kit. I notice that I get some “hopping” at times during cornering - especially if I roll on the throttle in the middle of the corner. The “hop’ is the best way I can describe the feeling and it comes from the outside front tire depending on which direction the corner is going. I have read as much as I can find about it, but honestly there isn’t a whole lot out there that covers this issue. I have tried front shock adjustments, front tire PSI changes, and adjustments to the main suspension under the seat (sorry I don’t know what that spring is actually called). Nothing has really worked - at least that is truly noticeable. Crazy thing is that I can go into a corner at X mph and get the “hop” and then turn around and replicate the same speed and corner and NOT get the “hop”. It seems inconsistent. So….. my long drawn out comment leads to this: I’ve ordered the Baja Ron’s sway bar kit and links hoping that it will - at least make things consistent - and at best, stop the “hopping”. Is it your thoughts that by replacing the sway bar and links this will help my issues? I’m going to do the upgrade either way you’d respond - but if you have another thought as to why I’m dealing with this problem I’m all ears. Thanks for all you post and I appreciate your time you put into these videos.

Great job Beth. I couldn't be bothered to get so involved so I had the dealer do mine a few weeks ago. For those curious, my dealer charged $150 for the install. They gave back the original bar. I guess maybe if I had told them to cut it maybe the labor would have been less.
$150!!! That sounds very cheap!!!Just curious, did you have to leave your bike at the shop for serval days, or were you able to just pick it up the same day? My dealership is so backed up, it is weeks to get anything done!
@@RykerRydes I did leave it for two days. I was working anyway so no big deal. 150 for the install, 20 for NH state inspection sticker and they took care of the wheel nuts on recall.

Great install video Beth. Something I wouldn't want to tackle. Good job. I don't know what it is but I don't enjoy working on motorcycles. Thankfully, I have a good friend who is an amazing mechanic. Have a great day and ride safe.

Another great installation video! I’m so impressed that you tackle these projects. I have been inspired to do some upgrades to my Ryker watching your videos.
Nice job, I did my Rally last summer and did not realize you could slide the bar in without removing the right shock.(that was in the instructions) The fan I took off in one piece with the fan. I also lost one of the clamp nuts under the engine. Got mine from Bajaron.
Hallo Beth! Looking at your new video from a hospitalbed . I got a leg injury so I got an operation yesterday (My 17e operation). I do not know If I will try the sweybar. I hope to get out more with my Ryker this summer. Hopefully when I get home. I have had a plaster on my leg for five month now. Hope you are well.
Oh no!!!!! I am so sorry that you are in any discomfort! I hope the healing time is fast!! I am glad I am "there" to keep you company! Feel better soon!!
That bit with the Grinder was some Tense Viewing - lol -- but for anyone without a power tool - it only took me about 15 minutes with a 7 dollar hacksaw to cut through the old OEM sway bar. Just goes to show how soft that old swaybar's steel was. Baja Ron's Swaybar is MUCH MUCH more firm Carbonized steel and makes a huge difference. Just watch Beth here for the install and you'll be good.
Thank you so much for your kind words, and your great advice. I had to borrow that saw too, I don’t own one either. Also, please don’t forget to check out my website rykerrydes.com for all your Ryker accessories.
Thank you so much for commenting! It really does mean everything to me! I am usually much quicker at replying!!! Been crazy busy building my new website: www.RykerRydes.com check it out.
Your welcome. Do you have an oil change video? Wondering if it is faster and easer than the F3. The dealer is about 60 miles from my home. I’m not going that far for service. I’m a shade tree mechanic myself, appreciate your. DYI videos.
I've been guilty of it from time to time, but I have seen some pretty serious accidents as a construction superintendent. I do love your videos, and have learned a lot from you since I bought my bike a month a and a half ago. So thank you.
Great job Beth! I was a little worried when you grabbed the death wheel. Now, I know how to do the install. Thank You for the shout out. I appreciate that. Another upgrade that I feel is worthwhile, are the floor boards. Makes life on the Ryker so comfortable. Are you going to do the muffler? Take care
I came here to see the install video and now I can't help but wonder where you found that mirror above your dash?? I've never seen anything like that on any of the popular aftermarket sites!
Awesome. Thanx for giving me the confidence to try this. Question: I have been told that I will need an alignment after replacing the swaybar. Have you noticed that the alignment is off?
Cheers Beth. Are the written instructions comprehensive? For viewers that don't want to use an angle grinder they could use a hacksaw. Nice video which I'm sure will give lots of people the confidence to go for it 👍
Glad it was helpful! Yes the instructions were VERY comprehensive. I was the first to do a video on it, and I was easily able to follow the instructions. I did some minor install changes, from the original instructions. But it really was not hard to do!
I just purchased the Baja Ron sway bar and links. I just watched your video again for a refresher coarse on the install. The rear view mirror that is directly in front of you, how do you have that mounted? Do you have a video on that install?
Okay, two years on - how is the Baja Ron bar holding up? Any problems? Trying to decide if I want the ease of Baja Ron, or the solidness of a CanAm or Spyder Extras bar. Thank you for the video!
My instructions that came with my kit says.....LH and RH bushings is from the passenger seat looking forward...looks like she installed the bushings on the wrong side...she was looking form the front...not sure if my instructions are correct.
Hi Beth! Another great video. Was wondering, how much difference did this make with the constant “side to side” motion at highway speeds? Just got my Ryker in June 2020 and love it. I just would like to minimize that feeling on the highway as much as possible. Thanks
I love your videos, I'm considering buying a 2022 Ryker rally edition, I know it says it has upgraded suspension, but do you know if it has the same standard sway bar? If so, It look like I will be upgrading it sooner than later with Baja Rons.
I have one on the RT which is pretty similar. How to Install a Baja Ron Sway Bar on a Can-am Spyder (in less than 10 steps) ruclips.net/video/XC-bYdoelMc/видео.html
Great video. I actually spoke to Ron at Bajaron earlier today about this sway bar setup. We talked for like 30 mins, it was great education on this part. On another note, what type of camera are you using to film your videos whilst your per doing installations? What type of camera set up do you have on your helmet and what type of communication device are you using while you’re driving? I’m assuming many people probably use the same set up but I also see some video that isn’t so clear and also some audio that isn’t that clear as well. Can you let me know and possibly give us a short three minute video on what your helmet set up looks like and your communication and video devices? It would certainly help rather than having to go through a bunch of videos looking for exactly what I’m asking you when I like the way yours looks and sounds already. Thanks Kaz
Hi Kaz! Thanks for watching! Here are a few answers to your questions: On another note, what type of camera are you using to film your videos whilst your per doing installations? I USE JUST MY IPHONE. NOTHING SPECIAL. What type of camera set up do you have on your helmet (GOPRO) and what type of communication device are you using while you’re driving (CARDO)? I’m assuming many people probably use the same set up but I also see some video that isn’t so clear and also some audio that isn’t that clear as well. (THE MIC SET UP WITH MY GOPRO IN MY HELMET IS PURPLE PANDA). I hope you are asking because you like the quality? If not, I'd like to know if I can improve. I will definably be doing a video of all my accessories and a separate one on what I use to record my videos. Great idea!
I purchased this bar for my 2021 Ryker and it came defective. I didn’t realize this after I cut my OEM bar. Now I’m stuck without my bike for the weekend. It’s a shame that I paid so much for it only to not being able to enjoy it.
Who did you buy the bar from. This is very unusual. You may want to contact Baja Ron directly. I never heard of that happening. Sorry for your troubles.
Actually I was able to make it fit by grinding a bit off the bar. Not only that I spoke to Ron and I have to say he was very helpful. No doubt the man takes pride on his products.
Hi Carlos! Are you referring to the Baja Ron kit? That is the only one I can speak confidently about, as I have not used or seen the other link sets. But typically the bar kit should come with the links included/
Great question. Baja Ron’s sway bar is slightly bigger in diameter. But the big difference is the strength of the bar. It’s hard to explain, but you will 💯 feel the difference on your first ride. 1,000’s of customers can’t be wrong. 😉
@@RykerRydes what you feel is a difference in torsional stiffness of the bar. Strength is completely different. Torsional stiffness varies only a little from mild steel to the most exotic alloys, it is diameter that makes the big difference, hence my question. For example, the torsional rigidity varies as the 4th power of the diameter. If the stock bar is 12mm, a 13mm bar will be ~38% stiffer. I don't have my Ryker yet, only a pre order. I am a retired mechanical engineer. :)
No absolutely not. It is an upgrade that will make for a more enjoyable ride. But, definitely not essential. If you ever decide you want one please buy from my website: www.RykerRydes.com
@@RykerRydes It is vitally important to ensure that this bar is properly torqued, if not, the bolts will loosed, and the end links could come off while moving, and get caught up in things. It was a dangerous omission from this video.
Nice one. Waayy too much work for me. I would probably start swearing during the video if I had to install that LOL. But I like how this matches the colors to your theme. I went with the factory upgrade and mine is doing really well I am impressed with it. I can only imagine that with what you have put in along with the metal links it is probably a lot better.
What does the replacement achieve? I'm curious because I'm considering ways to upgrade my ryker but I don't know what it would do for my ride? Thanks for any replies.
@@RykerRydes hey thanks for the reply. I watched the video but was still confused lol. I ordered the kit but I don't think I'm as skilled as you so I'm gonna have to pay to get it put on.
I've just bought a new ryker and within 3 days I new it's the wrong bike, I've got parkinson's and did not realise you needed such force on the bars to steer and the roads in n Ireland are very rough meaning the bike is terrible to control. I'm going to sell the bike after 4 days, this was never mentioned on any videos I've seen.
Hi Ronan, I am so sorry you that it did not work out for you. I did mention in one of my earlier videos that there is no power steering and it is tough to maneuver, especially at low speeds. It really should have been explained to you when you bought the bike. It makes me so angry that dealerships don't do a better job of explaining the bike to it's customers!
Miss Beth,2 questons (can't spell for Sh--) #1 How much does the kit cost? #2 Do you think it's worth the price? You see, I'm a disabled vet and if I get this, I'll have to get it installed .Thanks ,you may remamber me you wihed me happy birthday.(76)
Hey John!! The entire kit is $279. Is it worth it? I guess that depends on what kind of riding you do. Do you leisurely ride around side streets, then probably not. But if you are more of a spited rider, like me, then yes. Hope this helps. You may consider buying just the links. Very easy install and gives you the most bang for your buck...in my opinion.
@@RykerRydes alcohol on a rubber surface? Soap will lube the part to slide into place and then dry out naturally; alcohol will dry the surface (maybe too quick unless you're using a lanolin based product) and promote cracking on the surface. Look up chemical interactions with rubber compounds for more info...
I got my from ron too and the dealer installed, but i feel that it worse then it was before, on the highway it's move like crazy side to side and it shake, I'm really upset..I post alot of money for and it did not help at all.. so disappointed 😡😡
OH no!! Is it possible the dealer installed it improperly? Can you sent me pictures? PS Find Baja Ron online and talk to him about it. He is an amazing man and will defiantly help you through this! My guess is (and I am NOT a mechanic) it is something else with our bike. Could be something simple like tire pressure or you may need a laser alignment? Please contact Ron! Tell him I sent you!
I have the Can Am sway bar. And I have had upgraded sway bars on many vehicles. There is a reason why a sway bar has curves on the end. It gives the bar more strength. I don't think that bar is doing anything. The Can Am bar is not hard to put on.
Not a fan of straight clamped end sway bars , the ends can chew out with vibration and hard road use think worn out allen stripped heads I would not trust them on outback QLD roads.. a better way of doing it is to use the factory oem up grade bar and use the Baja ron links with the oem red bar . Only thing is the upgraded factory bar is a lot harder to fit but worth it in the long run.
Thank you for watching the video. Baja Ron has been in business for a very very long time and he has never had an issue like that. That’s why you buy good quality. It’s been tried and tested, and you get what you pay for. I do appreciate the feedback.
I installed the BaJa Ron sway bar and end links today. OMG, those bushing nuts were a MoFo to get to. I happened upon a video by El Williams ( ruclips.net/video/og7jZKBUL5I/видео.html ). He used duct tape on one finger and stuck the nut to it. Then reached around the back and felt for the bolt coming through and while turning the bolt waiting for the nut to catch. I know it sounds crazy but it worked like a champ. I was able to do this with just me. I would say that out of the whole project getting the rubber bushings in place and bolted down was the toughest part.
I am a former welder metal fabricator, and PLEASE do not try to cut your sway bar off the way she did, especially without the guard in place. I have had those type of tools kick back and damage adjacent surfaces and in one case cut through a heavy leather glove and into my palm. A reciprocating saw with the proper blade is safer to use in tight quarters like that.
Interesting, yes. That appears to be a diamond abrasive blade. It is, yes, primarily used and marketed as a concrete saw, but, it is still a diamond abrasive blade. Those can pretty much be used for metal cutting also. The holes help keep the blade clean of small cut up debris in the blade and with blade cooling. Good observation, though.
Hector, Hector, Hector. You need to get away from your mama's computer before she sees you and you get in trouble. You probably do not understand that this channel is for grownup adult people. That's OK, you will learn stuff like that as you grow up. But, it's all good. Have fun, Hector. Then again, Hector, I might have totally misinterpreted your comment. In which case, it's all still good and you rock. Also, it doesn't count when you give your own comment a "thumbs up". :)
One major boo-boo that you made. I just ordered this kit, and read that the instructions are given as if “sitting on the bike”…. I think you put the bushings on backwards. 😅
This installation is nowhere as easy as this video shows. I’m halfway through install right now, and we’ve lost a bushing nut. I’m pretty mechanically inclined, but we’re 3 hours into install with no end in sight. I guess I’m going to have to go buy another nut. There is no good way to get to them. Also, we had to use a rubber mallet to get the bushings even on the bar. Complete waste of time. Have a mechanic do it!!!

Love 💕 I learn a lot from you...be safe and keep making the videos
Thank you so much for commenting! It really does mean everything to me! I am usually much quicker at replying!!! Been crazy busy building my new website: www.RykerRydes.com check it out.
Nice video - very detailed instructions. Makes me think, I can also do this.
My motto, if I can do it, so can you!! Thank you for watching!
I just ordered today LOL. Thank you Beth.
Awesome, l am sure you will love it!
Very nice work, I got news made a deposit on a 23 Ryker sport looking for the riding season to start
That’s awesome!!!! Let the good times roll!
Nice job Beth. Your a real do it your self kinda girl! Very impressive.
Thank you so much! Always appreciate your comments!
Your welcome. Do you have an oil change video? Wondering if it is faster and easer than the F3. The dealer is about 60 miles from my home. I’m not going that far for service. I’m a shade tree mechanic myself, appreciate your. DYI videos.
Oops, yes you do. I just watched it again.
Glad to see you used your safety glasses. That grinder should also have a guard on it to prevent it from cutting you in case it kicked back.
I know, right!?!?! I borrowed the grinder from a friend, and was shocked it was missing the guard!
I've been guilty of it from time to time, but I have seen some pretty serious accidents as a construction superintendent.
I do love your videos, and have learned a lot from you since I bought my bike a month a and a half ago. So thank you.
I am really impressed! Awesome job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks easy enough, easier than what I expected. I'm just not sure I need it. Mine handles pretty good without it.
Sounds perfect!
Take care
Floor boards are top on my list. And yes, I have a muffler video coming out very soon. It has been a very busy few weeks for me! lol Ride safe!!

Big Mook DTGC 207 thank you for watching and your nice comment!!
Awesome. Thanx for giving me the confidence to try this. Question: I have been told that I will need an alignment after replacing the swaybar. Have you noticed that the alignment is off?
Absolutely not!! I have replaced many sway bars and not one needed an alignment because of the new bar!!
@@RykerRydes Ok, thanx. I wondered when the service department wanted to charge me $900 for an alignment. Thank you
@@loribrogoitti5355 omg!!!

You're good Beth
Thank you Keith, so are you!
Nice job. Where did you get the decals the stripes on the center of your bike going down the hood and trunk?
Everything blue on my bike (including the stripe) is a custom wrap
Very good job! Two thumbs up 👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you! 👍
What kind a saw was that? I think that’s the best way to take off sway bar!
I see your link now ty!
Great video. I will just get links😂
I did just the links and indeed it makes a remarkable difference.
You won't be disappointed!
Thank you so much for the video
You are so welcome!
Great video! Do you have any plans to upgrade the shocks?
I have lots a plans! LOL Yes I am thinking about it!
Are the end links supposed to be able to move a little? Instructions say don’t overtighten but I got them really tight.
Yes there should be a little movement in the links. They move with the bike. Hope that makes sense. I think I show it in my video.
Do you have a link for the lift that you use for the ryker
Are you referring to the black ramps?
Great job.
Thank you! Cheers!
Okay, two years on - how is the Baja Ron bar holding up? Any problems? Trying to decide if I want the ease of Baja Ron, or the solidness of a CanAm or Spyder Extras bar. Thank you for the video!
Omg! I love my sway bar. Best accessory you can do for your Ryker! Just curious, why do you think the other bars are more solid?
My instructions that came with my kit says.....LH and RH bushings is from the passenger seat looking forward...looks like she installed the bushings on the wrong side...she was looking form the front...not sure if my instructions are correct.
The best answer you can get is by emailing Baja Ron directly: fyredad@hotmail.com Go right to the source. lol. Best of luck!
Hi Beth! Another great video. Was wondering, how much difference did this make with the constant “side to side” motion at highway speeds? Just got my Ryker in June 2020 and love it. I just would like to minimize that feeling on the highway as much as possible. Thanks
It certainly helps, but you will always have some issues because the bike is so light weight compared to a car.
Ryker Rydes Thanks
I love your videos, I'm considering buying a 2022 Ryker rally edition, I know it says it has upgraded suspension, but do you know if it has the same standard sway bar? If so, It look like I will be upgrading it sooner than later with Baja Rons.
The sway bar is the same as previous years. Thanks so much for watching! Hope you join the family soon.
I don't know if you have a video on it. But can you do this same replacement video but on a spyderF3s-S?
I have one on the RT which is pretty similar. How to Install a Baja Ron Sway Bar on a Can-am Spyder (in less than 10 steps)

That was a great show if your mechanical abilities beth. Most guys I know couldn’t have done that job 👍🏻😎 ✨Tues Nov 3 vote 🦁Trump🦁 ✨ 😘 ⚡️🇺🇸⚡️
You are too funny! Thanks for watching and the comments!
Thanks
Kaz
Hi Kaz! Thanks for watching!
Here are a few answers to your questions:
On another note, what type of camera are you using to film your videos whilst your per doing installations?
Great idea!
How long do you estimate it took you to complete the entire install of the sway bar?
Sorry, I saw in the comments below you said about 2 hours max.
Yes! I am a huge Baja Ron fan. Great guy and stands behind his products.
Beth hi,
Question, what do you think about the sypder Extra sway bar kit I believe for the links 79.00 and 145.00 for bar kit.
Hi Carlos! Are you referring to the Baja Ron kit? That is the only one I can speak confidently about, as I have not used or seen the other link sets. But typically the bar kit should come with the links included/
Your quite the mechanic got to love a girl thats good with her hands.
Thanks Fred!! I am quite proud of this install!
Is there a possibility of this voiding the warranty? I know if I purchase the original OEM sway bar it won’t.
Great question!!! My warranty is over, so I did not even think of this. It is worth a call to your dealership to verify before buying.
How is this holding on? Specially the sway bar. I don’t like that is a multi piece part and could end up having to adjust it over time.
Absolutely perfect! Baja Ron has been making these for a very long time, first for the Spyders. I have never heard of an issue. Thanks for watching.
How long was the actual installation of the swaybar
It is hard to say. Between the extreme heat, and trying to talk through everything to make the video it added a lot of time. I'd guess 2 hours max?
@@RykerRydes awesome video
Finally got my ryker back and really enjoying it.
If the replacement bar is 13mm, what is the diameter of the stock bar? They look very similar...
Is there a size difference between the stock bar and the new bar? Thicker in diameter? No one mentions that... side by side comparison!
Hi David, it is the exact same size in diameter.
Good job
Thank you!
Well done
Thank you!
Do you have to change the sway bar and links ?
No absolutely not. It is an upgrade that will make for a more enjoyable ride. But, definitely not essential. If you ever decide you want one please buy from my website: www.RykerRydes.com
Hi !!!! How long did it took to install the sway bar ?
Hard to say because I was filming. But shouldn't take longer than an hour or 2 max.
What shocks do you have
www.rykerrydes.com/search?q=Elka+Shocks I also have an install video on it!
Good job!
Thanks!
Torque?
Hi Justin. I do not have the torque info. Please contact Baja Ron directly for that information. Thank you for watching.
I can only imagine that with what you have put in along with the metal links it is probably a lot better.
you got your left and right mixed up with the bushings
I'll have to rewatch or check my bike.
What does the replacement achieve? I'm curious because I'm considering ways to upgrade my ryker but I don't know what it would do for my ride? Thanks for any replies.
It’s more stability. Feels more planted. I talk about it in more details in the video. Thanks for your comment.
@@RykerRydes hey thanks for the reply. I watched the video but was still confused lol. I ordered the kit but I don't think I'm as skilled as you so I'm gonna have to pay to get it put on.
It is a little bit if a project. Let me know how it turns out.
Just got my sway bar from br will be putting it on ASAP thank, Beau PS. it came to $301
a little soap on the bar to help those bushings(?)
Hmm not sure it needs it. Just need to find that sweet spot. Also I prefer hand sanitizer in those tight spots…dries fast.
Just curious, but what is your native language?
Curious why you are asking. Hmm.
You have a very different and unusual accent that I do not recognize.
Your so bold. I could never do this.
YES YOU CAN! Honestly, if I can do it, so can you!! I have never worked on anything before!!
Love your videos soooo helpful! Keep it up :) Thank You!
You're so welcome!
I’m gunna start a RUclips channel so I can justify buying all the cool hop up parts 😂
Shh don't tell my husband....lol
Ryker Rydes yeah, well stop giving my wife ideas on adding bling 😂
I have the Can Am sway bar. And I have had upgraded sway bars on many vehicles. There is a reason why a sway bar has curves on the end. It gives the bar more strength. I don't think that bar is doing anything. The Can Am bar is not hard to put on.
Thank you for your input Frank.
For a second I thought you were cutting the lower a frame that would’ve been expensive🤣
UGH! That would have been so bad!!
You put the bushings on the wrong sides.
It may look like that, but they won’t go on if they were backwards.
Simply put :
Thicker or more stiff sway-bars , flex LESS . THEREFORE YOU HAVE LESS BODY-ROLL , IN YOUR TURNS / CORNERING .
Absolutely!! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for the tip!! Did you notice a big difference with the new bar? Ps sorry for my delayed response, I am still on my bike trip.
@@RykerRydes Yes, especially on the highway at speed. Before I was always afraid to leave one hand go to adjust my glasses.
Great advice. It was very dangerous (as mentioned in the video) not to have a safety guard. Be safe everyone!!!
Beth get yourself a cordless grinder a lot safer to use
I am sure you are right, but I hope to never need one again! lol
🤟❤️🌍🙂👍👋👋🇨🇵
That is a concrete blade cutting metal. Im surprised it worked. Lol
It worked perfectly.
What that FU&? You doing
Hmm, not sure I understand your question...
Thanks for letting me know, I will definitely take a look.
I am so sorry you are having trouble. I am sure it is very frustrating. I do appreciate your feedback. It is not an easy install.
