K5 GT owner here. I have a 2022 K5 GT Wolf Grey with the GT1 package. I've had my K5 for almost 2 years now, I'm at about 20k miles. This car overall has been great to me. I still enjoy driving it every day and it's fun to send it around corners. The front traction is definitely a weak point, but once you learn how to modulate the throttle during initial acceleration, it's not so bad. This car would certainly benefit from AWD, but I understand Kia not wanting to step on the toes of the base model Stinger (or what used to be, now that the Stinger is no longer be produced). Sometimes, hearing those tires squeal is just part of the fun! I still get compliments on this car from random people which I really love honestly! There are certainly those people who don't even know what the car is and when you tell them a Kia their response is always "that's a Kia?!" I drove this car nearly across the country on a 30 hour, 2,000 mile roadtrip and it was excellent. My car was full of stuff and I averaged 33 MPG over the whole trip. The driver assist tech is awesome. Kia/Hyundai/Genesis has some of the best driver assist tech for the money in the business in my opinion. It makes driving on the highway much more relaxing and enjoyable. For weak points, I have had an issue with the driver's side fog light turning off randomly. I took it to Kia and they said they could not replicate the issue. So I'm just ignoring it for now (but it does bother me). Kia service is certainly not the strong suit of the brand, in my experience at least. I'm also not the biggest fan of the Bose sound system that comes with the GT1 package. It is pretty weak IMO. Lately, I feel Bose is not as good as they once were when it comes to vehicle sound systems.
I have the regular GT package--2024 Wolf Gray (this color is fantastic, I just wish it were more rare). The traction definitely is an issue. I chirp the tires in 2nd or 3rd when using the paddle shifters.
My '24 Hyundai Tucson has a Bose system and my mom's Lincoln Navigator too. Both are super weak. Bose really doesn't mean much in terms of name anymore.
I just purchased a GT Line in Glacier white, red interior, AWD, and sunroof. I love the car with the exception of having to purchase Home Link as a dealer installed option. The K5 GT Line in AWD is hard to find in my neck of the woods. I got lucky and bought it 3 hours after it came off the transport that brought it in from Tacoma. It was fun watching the detail guys unwrap the car.
You get so much compare to competition. I've been driving huyndai and kia products since I can remember and most likely will stick to them for the rest of my life. You get so much for money it's crazy. I was able to pick up 2021 G70 3.3t sport prestige with only 20K miles in pristine condition for $30K. Tell me where else you can find 365 hp car with big sunroof, heated/cooled seats, heated rear seats, heat steering wheel, sensing wipers, heads up display, dual ac control, smart ventilation. The car is amazing and reliable. Kia/Hyundai my fav brand
You're driving the GT like I have, it doesn't come with the adaptive stop and go cruise. You need the extra $4k GT1 package to get that option. Also comes with Bose sound, Ventilated seats and Projector headlamps vs the reflector.
I was pretty much set on the 24 Elantra N... But after seeing the 25 K5 GT now im not so sure what to buy. Obviously the EN is more fun and has the superior handling and exhaust sound, but K5 looks better, nicer quality interior with more features etc.
I was in the market for a K5 GT because I have a 2011 Kia Optima SX. And then I learned of the Elantra N. No more K5 for me. The mere fact that the EN is available in 6M made all the difference. Nothing else mattered after that.
this is old now but no you do not need to use the paddles the computer will shift for you. the paddles are meant for when you want to have some fun with it and drive it like a manual

yeah bose sucks.
dose the kia 5 gt have head up display?
@@Xottic.j3 No. HUD is not an option on the K5 at all. That may have changed with the refresh model this year, but I doubt it.

Spot on .. I really like the upholstery that they offer on the K5
That saddle brown 🥺! Woooooo
I had one and I loved it. Only reason I traded it was because of its front wheel drive.
You just sold me on this luxury hotrod!.. I'm digging it!
Thank you, sir!!

crazy thing I used to live exactly where you drove thru years ago
It would have been nice to know how the car handles on twisty roads. Handling in a car with 290hp is extremely important.
I seen a K5 gt go toe to toe with a manual EN on the I95 at from about 60 mph-100mph

Wish kia would update the k5 for 2024 like they did for the sonata but at least they made some changes
Check out the 2025 k5, that's the refresh year
what a marvelous car
Can you change the colors of the ambience lights ?

The refresh coming out next year with new headlights tailights an all digital dash and dial shifter pick ya choice
wait until the refresh, makes no sense to get this car when u can get the new one with more features next year for the same price.
I have a 24 gt in Sapphire blue. I bet some Nitto summer tires would stop a lot of that spinning
Everyone says that it has a lot if torque steer, but when I test drove it i felt next to nothing.
I was just thinking the same thing. Very VERY little torque steer if any. I have a 24 GT and it is such a blast to drive in sports + mode.
Trace im thinking of getting the K5 2025 GT do i always have to use the paddles , i seen u not use them? whats the deal ?

Nice love the car 🔥
Why i only find FWD of the gt version when the webpage says it is AWD?
GT LINE is awd, gt is fwd
Enjoyed the review
Nice interior
Don't know what dealer would let you have a GT for $33k. I see them priced from $35 - $38k. I guess you can try to negotiate.
I ordered the GT with the GT1 package in Wolf Gray with a black interior…
How tall is this guy?
Because the leg room looks absurdly cramped when he's driving.
I’m 6’0 leg room was fine!
@@Tracetainment Thanks! I'm only 5' 9" but even for me the leg room in my Mazda 3 is tight.

Dual Clutch?? IMO needs to be RWD & reg 8 sp trans.
eight-speed dual-clutch transmission
I was so hoping it would be AWD...

dual clutch is absolutely trash, especially inside of a kia. DO NOT buy this car, you will have repair bills up the ass.
