This will definitely be my next purchase! GT-Line trim. I can't wait to see more exterior and interior colors. Im in love with the fastback look. Kia and Hyundai make the best DRLs, imo. I do believe a hybrid is coming. May use the same hybrid powertrain from the Elantra. Most likely, in 2026, when Elantra gets a redesign. Even the IVT powertrain gets great gas mileage being a non-hybrid.
Some good basics here: a sedan with a conventional automatic transmission, shift lever, physical controls for all common features, minimal gloss black surfaces, contrasting interior trim, solid ergonomics, tiny engine cover, spare wheel/tire, and good styling. While it does have an electronic parking brake, black wheels, and lacks the lift-back trunk, it's still one of the most appealing cars on the market in this segment, to me at least. Who knows what the mid- to long-term reliability will be like (conventional auto trans. is a good sign, though), but hopefully with good maintenance it'll hold up. I'd seriously consider this alongside a Civic. Thank you, Kia for just those basics that buck current trends that favor aesthetics and cost-cutting screens over ergonomics, usability, and driver-focused controls. I do want to see torque figures (and, of course, driving impressions). Hopefully, they'll also have a sportier trim level (and a manual transmission option, if I'm shooting for the stars).
