Dr. Lauren Rocha is a school counseling assistant professor for the Psychology Department at Tennessee State University. She started her career as a high school teacher in Harlingen, TX. During that time, she completed her master’s degree in educational psychology at Texas A&M University and became a certified school counselor in Texas. Later, she received her doctorate in counselor education at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She completed a dissertation titled Échale Ganas: Initial Development and Validation of a Grit Scale for a Hispanic Population and has continued research interests involving grit, school counseling, and the Hispanic population.
