I've always managed stress by journaling - I began at 12 when I was devastated to learn that I was adopted and had no idea what that meant or where my "real family" was and had no support to process the experience or baffling feelings. Appreciate the information shared

A key way I manage my stress is by taking time for myself which usually is hiking or just walking a few miles each day. I’ve actually put this to the test and I find On the days of walking or hiking I hands down felt better mentally and physically. For me a slow, fast or vigorous walk, ( on a wooded trail preferably) but even on a heavy traffic road I still felt much better that evening and the next day starting. Thank you Susan David for all that you do ! ❤️ Oh yes, I listen in from N.E. Pennsylvania USA.

I am from Boise Idaho, one way I manage stress is mindfulness. I have learned to try to stay in the moment. And look at what is happening right now. Instead of what might be happening in future or happened the past.

Thank you so much, I always say stress is a way of reminding your self you are alive, you are feeling all different emotions, that is live. And evolving, growing is the way we deal with those emotions. When you are dead you don’t feel nothing no emotions. If you are always happy how will you be challenge and grow. Thank so much for your knowledge Susan Davis, is nice to see that I could back my feeling. Your wording are so much professional and understand. I am learning every day from my own emotions about my own evolving. Every time I meet new people, start something new in live is constant learning with my own children and husband, it is tiring but when I over those challenges I feel growth. Thanks Susan Young London ❤️

Dont let it too deep like those Titanic memorabilia otherwise we might need to hire SCUBA specialist divers to retrieve and bring it back to surface.

I try to make stops during a day. Read a poem during a difficult moment. Recognize and make deeply connection with the situation. Write what is happening and train to be more vulnerable. Mexico City.

This is very helpful, and offers some tangible response options to help us manage the changing emotions. The WHO prediction re depression by 2030 must be thwarted by enabling people to adopt the strategies recommended.

Professor David, finding this lecture during COVID-19 is absolutely applicable. It reaches an individual no matter these factors: environment, finances, career, nurturing, culture, etc. With this in mind, MA and many states have entered the 2.5 month marker for quarantine. So many individuals would benefit from watching your lecture to educate our communities and through resilience, during this pandemic. Overall, the lecture was beautifully executed. I'll be subscribing for more lectures! Thank you.

I like how some of your ideas fit nicely with ideas from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. What you say really makes sense, especially in a 'positive vibes only' culture. I see the damage this does day in and day out in my community and the generational trickling down of ' positive thoughts only' ideas keep cycles of trauma going!

Complexity is subjective. The mind is a liar. That’s the problem. I do agree that we need to look outside of our thoughts in that we need to be more vigilant about our thoughts then raffle them proactively. I am a child in terms of practicing all this. I need to grow up though because my mind is driving me nuts.

The greatest question to ask yourself is, "Is the universe friendly?" If the universe is friendly, then you will be in your way of treating or avoiding stress in your life.
