Great video. Very interesting. And the more I watch your videos, the more I tell myself that I can't wait for you to buy a G6 so that we can make beautiful videos on it. Keep up your videos, they are very informative.
Sure. The vented tops are the 65w units that use the 90w power supply and non T processors. They also have the extra case fan and copper heatsink. The whole idea is to help with the extra heat put off by the higher running processor. I actually use the copper heatsink and vented case for my G3 running a i5-7500T
There are 35w, 65w and 95w power versions so watchout and get atleast the 65w version, also most don't have the mini pcie connector on the main board to fit the RX grzphic card.
Bienvenidos desde el norte :). Cuando estaba haciendo pruebas de consumo de energía, el G4 en realidad era mejor que los anteriores. Utilizo un G1 para un NAS de respaldo.
That's interesting the ProDesk G3 seems to have taken a step back. I have a ProDesk G2 and it has a USB-C on the front and two DisplayPorts on the back.
600 and 800 are really close. The 800 had vpro remote connections. Also the 800 could have non T processors. Not sure on the warranty. My guess is that it was also 3 years.
looking to get one of these to replace my old streamin pc i use to watch my streaming sites but imma just need a display port to hdmi cable to pug into my big tv
Let me know how it works out. You might also consider just an HDMI to displayport adapter. That way you can disconnect the PC if you need to connect something else like a gaming console. I'm a fan of one from Cable Matters.
Good units from all. I've been a Dell person in the past myself but I've become quite the HP fan over the years due to their documentation and the interchangeable components like power supplies. You might even consider the EliteDesk 800 G1. Cheaper cost but a bit harder to work with on the inside. Check out my videos, especially the second look one.
@@handmedowntech yeah tired of dell preparatory hardware thats hard to upgrade so this hp looks legit just worried that the onboard graphics will not be strong enough for my 65in tv right now im using an old desktop with an i5 and a geforce 750 but the operating system is ild and some websites wont let me play movies or shows so i have to upgrade my tv set up with a newer pc
Longer warranty = "more care". It's market segmentation. Nothing more, nothing less. Enterprise and education leases on computers are typically 3 years. SMB prioritizes cost over warranty. They both came off the same assembly lines using the same major components made by the same people.
It does help to convince corporate buyers that their investment is protected for 3 years. And obviously we're still using ProDesk 400s years after their supposed "expiration date".
i was wondering this a couple weeks ago, thanks for covering the difference
Glad it helped.

Thanks! Ah yes - the elusive G6 - hoping to find one at a good price soon.
Some minis have perforated lids and some are solid, can you speak on why this is?

The graphics card only shows up on the G4 and G5s.
Amigo buenos videos, Gracias que me recomiendas para tener una NAS y VPN corriendo 24/7? Pregunto dada tu experiencia.Saludos desde Mexico.

Is it possible you have a ProDesk 600 G2 vs the 400?
@@handmedowntechIt is a 600! I forgot there was a lower 400 tier. So is the 600 basically the 800 with less warranty?

Others have expressed interest in using them with a TV. Sounds like an idea for a future video, hmmmmm.
cuantas de estas tienes amigo
Tengo varios
I think you can go to 64 gig ram
I wouldn't be surprised if it did. I just haven't had that much memory around to test it out 😉
i own pro 400 and i have 128g ram installed
Dang!! In a ProDesk 400? Which model?
@@handmedowntech yes pro 400 model.but i know also models are artificially limited by bios how much ram u can install.
G3 or G4?
