    This would be more realistic if shown Professional or Simulation Mode, this is way too arcade for a professional analyst.

      Isn't everyone when they play this game though? The navigator is useless and if you are fast enough you can literally outdrive his instructions 😂 Sometimes he tells you that a corner is light when it's not or that it's sharp when you can take it flat out too. His instructions are so bad.

    By the way, there is braking in this game, most courses aren't full flat out. The thing is, if you drive like they are doing here, you will crash and damage your car, especially in the longer races. You can even see it here where sometimes they barely get away with it and other times they just crash. You really don't want to be going over jumps at full speed unless you have a death wish.

    • @TomLehockySVK
      @TomLehockySVK Год назад +1

      @@Kodaiva There is no "realistic mode" because even if the underlying feeling of the cars is better than they were in Dakar 18, the physics details themselves are basically non-existent in Desert Rally. It is a downgrade, very shallow and easy to cheat by taking shortcuts with zero risk involved.

    I really do agree with him about electric cars. Even though I don't actually hate electric cars, in fact I do like them and see their purpose in this world. However, let's be realistic here because there is no way the world is going to get rid of combustion engine cars since they still have their own advantage and reason to buy while electric cars is still have it own disadvantages and flaws that will probably never be solved.

      My main issue right now is that they tell us there is a problem with electricity, they cut off electricity in homes (at least some part of it) during some hours in the day because of a "shortage", but they also tell use to buy cars that run on electricity... Pick one. Plus you need to create electricity, and let's not pretend this is green. Maybe the car itself is greener, but the creation of the electricity you need is not green.

      It's not even eco friendly. Look at how they are made. We are also running out of cobalt which batteries need ie. electric cars. We only have about 10 years left of the stuff but no one is talking about it. Then you have the fact that our electric grids simply cannot take it, at all.

    The editing made it unpleasant. There was no breather. It felt like he was CONSTANTLY talking, without a second of pause. And since it was all negative comments, it made it definitely unpleasant. Add some breathers. A couple of seconds after a comment and before the next one, so it doesn't sound like a barrage of words.
    Plus the player seemed pretty bad at the game.

    The 2 minute rant about electric vehicles being an "unconfirmed" technology is a prime example of someone repeating misinformation. I love cars, and I've done deep, deep, deeeep dives into the history of them because of that love. Most cars around the world were originally electric hand-cranked vehicles. You'd crank the alternater for a few minutes to charge a capacitor and then you'd drive the vehicle. If the vehicle ran down, you'd pullover and crank it some more.
    As cities began to sprawl and freeways were built in the USA during the early 1920s a need for faster vehicles came about and lead to electric vehicles being replaced by ones that used gasoline combustion engines in the 1930s due to the sudden performance improvement discovered by adding lead and due to gasoline storing more energy in a more compact form allowing them to travel greater distances before needing to refuel. The technology has been around for ages, what's new is the battery types, and even then they arent' "new". They've been around for about five decades but were too expensive to produce for mass production vehicles. That's what has actually changed in the last couple decades.
    As for the poor callouts and unrealistic racing in this game... Yeah, it's crap. I'd like to see his reaction to a proper rally game like Dirt Rally or Dirt Rally 2.

    • @crayondevourer2267
      @crayondevourer2267 Год назад +2

      I don't know from where you got the info that first cars were a hand cranked electric machines, because from what I could gather the first "practical" electric car was built around 1887 by William Morrison, though many regard the Flocken Elektrowagen of 1888 or the electric car of Thomas Parker from 1884 as the first electric car, but in 1886 Karl Benz patented and started producing his petrol car, which makes it the first actual car available to wider public, in my opinion (not counting the steam powered ones, because that's not what we're discussing).
      And also electric cars weren't replaced in 1920s, because the first mass produced car, Ford's Model T, went into mass production in 1908, thus replacing horse-drawn carriages and other road vehicles rapidly in the US. Making the replacement happen in the 1900s.
      And perhaps EVs are proven and nothing new, but I do think that they are pushed too fast and are too expensive for the majority of people. On top of that the infrastructure that would provide ease of use for them isn't ready, which makes them impractical. Also in most countries the electric energy isn't green, which makes the EVs not green.
      And I think that the rally driver already reacted to Dirt Rally 2.

      @@crayondevourer2267 You're only looking at the history of vehicles in the USA. Europe had lots of electric vehicles upto the 1930s when gasoline powered vehicles became more affordable thanks to Ford and due to leaded-gasoline improving the performance of combustion engines. Horse-drawn carriages had been replaced by steam-powered horseless carriages in Europe during the early 1810s. They also had electric versions like that made by Anyos Jedilik and Robert Anderson in the 1830s and there were even electric trains. Most of these electric vehicles used disposable batteries, however. The first electric car with a rechargeable battery would probably be the one in Paris made by Gustave Trouve 1881.
      I also agree that electric cars are too expensive, but that's true of all vehicles today, and is just caused by corporate greed. Do you remember when hybrid and electric cars were a thing in the 90s? I remember Tom Hanks praising it on one of the talk shows, but car companies weren't able to make money off of maintenance of these vehicles since they didn't undergo the same wear and tear. I believe that's why car companies are pricing electric vehicles so high and are trying to turn everything from remote start to seated heats into a subscription service instead of just selling a good product. Of course, it seems like the engineers at Tesla figured a way around the "doesn't need maintenance" issue.
      The 1920s reference was for the sudden increase in city sizes and the building of freeways, not the phasing out of electric cars. I've edited my comment to reflect this.
