It would be nice if you had an external mic so you could be heard better I like watching your channel but can't hear you talking all the time Jamie from Alabama
Running that medium duty ISC Cummins at 2200+ rpm is for max power, something you want for a firetruck but will have awful fuel mileage, especially on the highway. ISC sweet spot is 1700 RPM for fuel economy, just a tad lower than its smaller bother the ISB. Hopefully you can get a good rear ratio to help with that, possibly 4.30 or 4:56?
Great video Mr & Mrs J.C.Smith it interesting what you find when it all comes apart. Like the driveline out of fase not good for any bearings or mountings. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Mr & Mrs J.C.Smith.
Dear J.C. Smith projects family. 👍👌👏 Well done. 2) Unfortunately you weren't understandable during the complete test drive. And afterwards the talking sounded different to what it used to be. Until now I never experienced sound problems on this channel. Did something happen to your mic(s)? 3) What a wiring mess! I can't imagine why the outfitter did not simply use a proper junction box? New fire trucks usually are quite expensive. That makes "connections" like this look even more bad. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and especially health to all 3 of you.
MD3060 it's actually a 6 speed trans but 6 is locked out you'll have to have the Transmission computer reflashed. also if that truck is Limited at for say 65mph and for my friends on the metric system that would be roughly 105 KM/H. Get into the computer and shut that stuff off. Voltage looked a tad low and the oil pressure gauge looks like it needs to be replaced. Otherwise nice rig!
@@j.c.smithprojects That's even better! again that Allison would have a Trans computer being push button again i highly recommend unlocking 6th get that truck rolling and turn it up a bit see what she can do 🙂
Great progress. Does the cutoff have the same rear end ratio as the spring ride? Will the end result be better on the highway. I imagine most fire trucks aren’t geared for highway. Hope you have a weekend of collaboration and accomplishments.
Upfitters are usually just worried about getting down as fast and cheaply as possible, quality is not on their priority list, as long as it gets off the lot and works, no pride in the work that doesn’t get seen
First part and some later parts were not understandable. Appears your mike does not pick up when you are 4-5 feet away. Watched again with close captioning enabled and was able to get most of your commentary. With CC it doesn't always put in correct words. Keep up the good work. Am in awe of your incites.
My fire department had 1995 fl80 engine that the temperature light would come on in the dash but not on pump panel. Replaced both sensors and turn out to be a wire issue.

I have been there done that I really like the one I had. All of the fire wiring on mine was in blue wire loom so that was pretty nice of you them.

Kinda odd how those magnetic brakes work. I guess that's an alternative to an engine brake? 🤔
I have one of the tiger ujoint tools they are great makes it a much easier job out of replacing ujoints
Allright
Jc this sounds like a really good thing you doing i for one hope everything works out for everyone involved !

Hey some of those had an additional gear if you hit mode on the shifter.
Look at that crazy fan to cool the rear differential.
That fire truck would have a great ramp truck.
Great start!
Sorry you have one I just couldn't hear you when you was driving the fire truck Jamie
Sweet runner!
If that pump works it’s worth getting sold.
you could sell that pump someone could use it for lawn sprinklers

Those rear tires are chowdered. Shot.
Bummer no one showed up to help.

Need to get better microphone, regardless of wind, shop noises, etc.
You gotta spend money to make money.
go ahead and make some videos in this environment then tell me how to do it.
So far you got my attention agian. Can't to see what next. As usual another great video.
