I love the genre they came up with for this. "Taopunk". Also love how shockingly grisely the game is, the hand drawn art somehow really sells it, and reminds me of Katana Zero's more disturbed moments.
The invention of a new genre (I think it’s new could’ve been used already I just haven’t heard of it) reminds me a lot of Tally Hall (creators of the Ruler of Everything song) and how they called their genre ‘Fabloo’ which according to them meant they did whatever the hell they felt like. Of course Taopunk doesn’t mean that but it reminds of them inventing it.

@@PacMonster146 words itselves are lazy because we loss information when you use a single word to describe things.However coming from Taiwan, this name suits this game very well, and didn't loss too much information about what this game is.
I’ve got to admit, you have sold me on a whole bunch of games that you have talked about, not just because “that one youtuber played it”, but the way you do your videos is honestly really good, keep doing what you do, call out smaller games and put them into the limelight so that people notice the craftsmanship that goes into the games, keep doing what you do!

This looks REALLY cool! I love games with alluring senses of comfort which then strip it away with a harsh grinding reality.
The soundtrack almost reminds me of Portal's OST and I love it.

The artstyle initially reminded me of Dust: And Elysian Tale.. and then it got cyberpunky and violent. It looks really cool.

This looks fantastic, thanks for highlighting it! Definitely will keep an eye out for the full release. Another game I think worth mentioning and taking a look that this immediately reminded me of; Dust an Elysian Tail, which when it released a decade ago got overshadowed a bit for its furry adjacent cast, but I think has really held up as a beautifully animated 2d hack and slash.

This game looks so sick. I'm rlly hoping the full game is so good that it joins the likes of celeste, undertale, hollow knight, hades, meatboy, shovel knight, etc in that it moves past just the indie circles and becomes a fairly mainstream classic

Music reminds me of Ghost in the Shield osts, to be honest. A similar weird mix of styles
This is like a fusion of Hollow Knight and Gris
The title being ‘Nine Suns’ makes me really curious. Like, is that an indication of something that’ll happen in the game? Or is it just a random title like Animal Crossing that could still be called something else? Totally gonna buy this when it comes out!
