    I just bought the same 80V HF trimer. I used it till the factory fill of line ran out. Then before I even tried to or took the head apart. I watched your very clear video several times. After some 50 years of using trimers. The line change on this 80v beast was almost to easy. Thanks for your video. 5 stars.

    Thank you. It was more clear, about that line and arrow lining up, than in another video I saw. As I have about 4 Atlas 40V yard tools, I have 2 batteries for those, other batteries for Warrior and Bauer power tools and their associated chargers, where I keep the tools in the garage and the batteries and chargers in one of those cases, in my car, because I’m working on a house, that has no power. I can just charge the batteries at my apartment or work. I’ve learned how to tighten the chain on the 40V pole saw. Now I can replace the trimmer line on the trimmer, too. And, like someone else said, I don’t have to do all the yard work, in a day and, for me, the pole saw will become used the least, next the pole trimmer, then the blower, then the line trimmer. I also assume the 40V is lighter to work with, than 80V. As an older woman, that helps.

    I have had a hard time back turning the bottom to load the string. Last year after 2 years I returned the weed eater and got another because I bought the insurance. All I paid was another 14+$ to renew the insurance for 2 more years. My new one is acting like my old one and is nearly impossible to turn. I use a pair of channel locks to turn it while holding the housing. Today I even took apart and greased up what I could and that helped a bit. I wish mine was as easy to turn as yours. I may take it back apart soon and clean everything with de-greaser and then sand the inside of the housing with 320 - 400 grit paper then wipe down with alcohol and see how it works then.

    • @WilliamsonRidge
      @WilliamsonRidge  Год назад +1

      I’ve had a few people make comments about it being hard to turn maybe the quality control on that part isn’t perfect and some are inconsistent, cause others say it really easy sanding may help just make sure to smooth it out good afterwards

    Great vid. What I also do is follow the same steps up until you twist. I use thicker string so I actually after loading the string, push the two tabs on the side to semi open it and twist my strings in that way and then close it up. Much smoother for me with the thicker strings . Try it out. Let me know.

    It's a little tricky, but I found out to look in the hole and line up the spool inside...it actually takes the arrows apart slightly. THAT is the only difference I would suggest...to turn the spool head until you actually see the string's channel on the internal spool. Mine does not simply line up directly opposite of the outside holes. But you'll see the channel where the string goes and after that, breezy. Push down with your palm on the bump head and turn. Could be smoother, but still works. Wish it'd take more than 10' at a time. I love this trimmer. Lots of power to get through St. Augustine grass and runners.

    “ super easy “ instructional video, well done. I love my atlas pole saw, just purchased this weed eater and the blower and thought as a homeowner and not a professional I would never buy enough to justify the purchase the $30 club card but I saved $22.50 with the club card on these two items alone today. I’m pretty sure I’ll save more than $7.50 over the next year in addition to the already low price savings.

    Thanks for making the video I have the exact same trimmer but the process isn't nearly as easy for me because when I try to put the trimmer line through the head like that it never seems to want to go out the opposite side right and then once I do get it through the opposite side and even it out it's extremely hard to turn it counterclockwise to basically wind in the entire length of my trimmer line, it almost feels like I have to open about 100 super hard to turn pickle jars to turn it even though I eventually get it done but it really isn't nearly as easy as it looks on the video for you or at least not for me anyways but cool video anyways and thanks for sharing!

    I I really struggle trying to replace the sting in this trimmer. I actually tore the skin off of my hand trying to turn the knob to wind the string. It is NOT easy. I finally gave up and bought a different trimmer! I am so disappointed as I have an Atlas mower and would have loved to have the trimmer work for me as well. Unfortunately I cannot return the trimmer as I bought it last year. My son replaced the string a few times for me but he isn’t always available when I need it restrung.

    The counterclockwise turn is very difficult. Taping on the ground does not advance the string as your trimmer did. I like the product but it is not a smooth operation for me, so far. I'll keep trying.. Thanks, very good video.

      Make sure you are pushing in when you try to turn the head, and when you tap the ground make sure to pull the trigger the head has to be spinning pretty fast to sling the line out

    Hmmm. I HATE winding trimmer line. The tool description sounded like the TOOL did the winding, like maybe you did the bump thing and it would suck it all in. My previous trimmer had spools to pop in, shut and ready to go. I still have spools. (the tool is my son's, he is on the road for his job, so guess who gets to put new line in....) I am still going to look for another trimmer like my previous one. This trimmer would be much better if it had spools to just pop in and go.
