I Love your Shows! You explain things so well! Truly idiot proof 🤪 Could you make a Show explaining about the pro's & cons of different types of lighting. Also I'd be interested in the wire you use for the climbers, how to set them up and how to train the plants to climb them. Thank you so much for this indoor plant school. 💖
This is funny😀, oh my oh, my you read my mind! I actually propagated my scandens 2 weeks ago and put them in exactly the same glass. Watching this video is like a Deja vu😊. Thank you for all of your wonderful and informative videos. I learned a lot from you guys.
I have been watching plant care videos for three years from multiple different sources and this is the most helpful by far! I'm going to go try propagation again. So helpful that you provide why to do what to do. I have been messing up so many different little steps along the way. Thank you so much!
Greetings from Barbados. Very informative video as always, I've done the one leaf cutting with pothos in the past with much success. Never done it with philodendron but I sure will today. Thank you and subscribing.
Every couple of years I give a ''haircut'' to a 30-year old philodendron. I happen to have some vines in a glass of water right now, but I took them out and redid them, following along with this video. I believe I was trying to use vines that were too long because I didn't get roots yet in over a week. I now have more and shorter vines in the glass. Wish me luck! I also will probably change the soil.
Always love to watch your useful videos with valuable tips. I am a plant lover. I have a request, can you please make a video on Paperomia plant. I have killed atleast three Peperomias. So please help.
Very nice video... but I have lots of questions of the process of putting it into soil. Like all the questions: do I need just roots to put in soil or should I wait for a new plat to start to grow? If I have a small nub showing a new plant coming should it be out of the soil when I plant or out of soil? How do I know the plant is succeeding? What does it means to keep the soil wet in the first weeks? Like dump? How do I know the plant is getting used to dryer soil? All of it seems to be hard to know with this plant as it’s a bit more sensitive then pothos for example. Thank you for your help!
I’m adding another plant to my all you need to know wish list 😂 The birds of paradise. I’m so confused by the different species types - other than the white bird (nicolai) which is usually pretty clear. But the reginae, juncea, etc confuse me trying to tell the difference when the plants are young. A year ago I bought what I thought was a reginae at this little roadside nursery but then I found out about juncea and they look so similar 🤷♀️. Anyway - once you have one philodendron you can get tons of new plants so easily. The plant that keeps on giving. Another great video! Thank you guys - keep up the awesome videos!
We, (my 2 grandsons, ages 5 & 7 & myself) do enjoy your lessons on plant care. Your lessons on the care of the Schefflera Arboricola & the Amate saved the lives of my trees. Thank you for taking the time to do them. 1. Will you do a lesson on 'Ficus Elastica' the "Rubber Tree" for the care & propagation of both the variegated & non-variegated varieties please? Can I place the cuttings back into the pot with the Mother plant or is it better to use a separate pot? When should I cut the plant back? Should it be fertilized the same way a Weeping Ficus or Fiddle Leaf Fig is fertilized? Right now my only readily available windows are southern facing or 1 small East facing window in my bathroom. 2. Will you do a lesson on the "China Doll" tree? When do I fertilize? Do I need to repot it every year? Will pruning it help it to stay full looking or is it doomed to be scrawny for the remainder of it's existence as I have seen with so many "China Doll" trees that are kept indoors? Can I put it outside in the summer months on my North facing deck? Please keep up the great work saving our house plants & propagating a love of plant life with us & future generations! 💖
Show us more plants that do well in PUMICE PLEASE! I've been switching some of my pants over to pumice, leca, or a combination of both and I'm really liking some of my results! Just need more confidence from your videos.
Brilliant video, thank you! My plant has a lot of very long vines with no leaves for the last few feet of the vine - do you have any tips, should I cut the vines back to where it has leaves? Will propagation like this still work? Thank you!
do you know if you can grow from just a node without leaf? I know, that his works for monstera.. but i don't know if this works for Philly's as well. I had success with only one node with leaf so far.. so in the worst case, this works as well. They also grow in sphagnum, laying inside a flat see-through container, with a bit moos covering the node and under some foil. I swapped from water to moos when i saw the first root establishing.. and my feeling is, that the roots in moss are much thicker and look a lot more resistant than the waterroots
With the 3rd method is there such thing as too much leaves? My entire stem snapped off and all thats left is the starter leaf (that's half cut). It was probably too heavy, it had started to branch out in multiple parts. Can I put the whole thing in water then put it back or should I cut it up into sections? I'm really sad but it was getting long and I was such a proud plant Mum.
My sister gifted me a 1,5 meter long vine and I don't know what to do😅. Should I cut it in 3-4 pieces and take the risk or should I cut it like the first method? It has 15 leaves
I have been able to propagate a heart leaf. But the Brazil I do the same thing and they just rot and don’t grow roots. Why and what am I I doing wrong?
Awesome! Thank you! :) I just started propagating (a week ago) a golden pothos - in a kinda strange way. I cut 2 vines (each 5-6 smaller leaves long) and just laid WHOLE vines into the soil (leaves stand up, but the root nodes are all covered in soil). Looks fine so far, any thoughts on it? Do you think it has good chances to grow? :) Thank you for awesome content!!!
I have not tried it your way. Would be great if you could enclose it into say a large empty fish tank to keep humidity around the plant while rooting. I even used a large Britta pitcher with Saran wrap rubber banded to the top for very delicate cuttings. And you can see right through them I put then close to a grow light for warmth and the light. I have done your way with chain of hearts and pinned the vines down with opened up Bobby pins. It does work. My easiest way is to get a snap shut plastic box in clearish. Put an inch r two of moist soil in it ay cutting on top and close her up. I usually check for weirdness or mold every week or so and to give some fresh air and maybe a wee bit of moisture but not too wet. I have had great success with hya's doing it this way. I hope it works for you. I have such a hard time pitching cuttings and my house plants are growing like weeds. After 16 hours over the last two days potting up and consolidating plants I have almost put myself on a NO BUY for awhile. I just had to take over another 3 foot of my kitchen counter for some biggies. All is good I have more than enough counter left. I never use my dining room table I am such a heathen. Hahahaha
I took 2 very long stems from my marble queen pothos, root it them in water, then transferred into soil. At first, everything was fine. I kept the soil moist but not wet, then the leaves started turning yellow and welting. Lastly, I went in and cut individual leaves with nodes to re-root, and so it did. Now I have 2 small pots with 7 leaves each ... I hope they take off and grow for me. I did the the same with procedure with a Philodendron Brasil and rooted right away no issues to report. Good luck Castle Hall, sure hope you have better luck then me.
@@lunamaxwell6190 thank you! That's my plan B - if I see something wrong is going on with the leaves I'll just cut them individually (I think I should have done that to begin with, I'll had more plants this way:))) But I have a huge pothos plant so if this won't work out - we'll try another cuttings, this time as separate leaves :)
Thank you for this video as well. I received a cutting (lemon variation) with one leaf an only a small part of the stem, so the node is the one from the leaf. It starts to get brown on the stem. How big are the chances that this cutting will survive? Thank you in advance.

No Way! You have the best contents on the tube. Really great Job sir!
Just for info: pothos or philodendron, Who Is the faster in terms of growth?!
Thanks for this great video! Now I know what I did wrong when I tried to propagate mine in the past!
Great video. Can you please do a video on rubber plant, ficus elastica.
Thank you very much. Could you create the video to show how to propagate and make a cutting from Peace Lily and Hoyas? Thank you.

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and making these videos, can you make one on schefflera
Can you put the cutting straight back in the soil
Thanks you!! I'm about ready to propagate a Cebu Blue. I assume you do this the same way?

Thanks! What would be the most suitable pH for a cutting?
Should the water be filtered or left out overnight?
Hi, could you do the same with Pothos? Thank you 🙏

Can i start now in february. I will do this with brasil.
.. Sure you can, anytime of the year ☺️
Hi, can you do a video on Pachira Aquatica?
I have been able to propagate a heart leaf. But the Brazil I do the same thing and they just rot and don’t grow roots. Why and what am I I doing wrong?
.. You can try propagate in perlite in a mini greenhouse.. That's what I did, and it worked perfectly ☺️
Kan du gör en video om murgröna och orkideer

Can the leaves be rooted?
Not a leaf cut off the stem. But you can chop each node and leave the leaf on and root them that way also.
I love your videos, I follow you, but you need to get a better camera or lights ❤😁
Where can we buy the glass? : )
Looks like it`s from Ikea.
