- we spawn as tiny deinos now. which is fun, but still, I don't like that we gain weight so slowly now. we can't ambush anything for the first 1-2 hours. well, later on I messed up a part of the recording and was pretty frustrated which led to many fails which frustrated me even further. jeez, I hated myself and the game in the end. it was one of those sessions ^^

You can't get unstuck when you get stuck in a rock. The game registers you on a flat surface. In their system it's considered a plane which is a free area, so the unstuck doesn't register as you being stuck.
thx a lot ♥ was wondering if it even made it into the update. all videos I saw about it were on the horde test. so, good to know
I dont think thats true as you can do unstuck on a flat surface when not stuck and it will still move you. My guess is it just didn't work. Unfortunately it doesn't always. It also has conditions like other players can't be close and if it tries and fails it has a 90 minute cooldown which is absurd.
@@OGAmmoMonkey the 90 minutes are brutal at first. but, they want to make sure that people don't abuse this feature. as soon as it works properly 90 minutes aren't a big deal either. within more than 3000 hours in the game I never got stuck twice within 90 minutes. it is just bad when it doesn't work at the first try and you have to wait another 90 minutes
I wondered what the command was as I'd not seen anyone else try it. I've gotten stuck a few times in NE new landscape. The new rocks along the river seem particularly poorly coded.
perhaps, i spawned in as a baby teno and spawned into a sanctuary cycad, tried the unstuck but it didn't work because i was standing whilst stuck. luckily i was on petits and an admin freed me, still irritating how the unstuck doesn't work
Things ive learned as deino:
If you position yourself right you can stalk in floating plants forever practically invisible.
Move in straight lines and use alt to look around. This keeps you from having turning noises.
I dont sprint swim at enemies until the last second. Takes substantial patience to swim up to them slowly.
If you sprint swim and run onto land and then lunge, you lunge much farther. Takes some practice.
All these things honestly make me feel more like a croc which is why I don't hate this patch. Feels more realistic.
Adults don't have more stam than little ones I don't think. Just move faster during that stam period.
I believe fg crocs can still instantly grab you in the water up to 6 tons. So beware.
Also crashing underwater is like instant drowning. Very frustrating. Sorry you had to deal with that. Like crashing while flying with ptera.
I don't like this patch much for deinos. it takes way too long until we can actually ambush anything. depending on your diet it's between 1-2 hours to be able to grab a dryo! that's so boring. I really preferred the fast gaining weight. you could ambush almost from start on, which made growing way more fun in my opinion

Its the combined community that hates it, they think its a 'cheese' class but its only like that because most of them were playing it back in Spiro, its no different with stego and it'll be no different with Rex and Trike, its just whatever is powerful within the moment is what people will gravitate to.
But Deino has been pretty much put in its place that only the stubborn will continue playing it, but something else will take its place soon enough in the overpopulation problem lol.
@@kitkat5596 many parts of the community are nothing but crybabies to me. so many people have the simple mindset of "if I don't like it, then it's shit and shall be removed". this community is one of the most selfish I have ever witnessed within more than 30 years of gaming.
that said, there are also many awesome people within this community who are great humans with an open mind. so, to me it's really hard to even speak about a "the isle community". there is no community in my opinion. just a bunch of different groups with their very own idea of this game. each of those groups thinks they speak for the whole community, but none of them has even the majority ^^
@@kitkat5596 fr I'm looking forward to new apexes and more stronger dinos so the deino population will decreased, I have an obsession with crocodiles and only wanna play it for that reason, I just end up not playing it because everybody and their sister is playing deino usually lol

I miss the old map. So much easier to find action on the old map.
I don't miss spiro at all. the rivers were boringly empty. not even the swamp offered a nice atmosphere beneath the water. it was a ugly and boring map compared to gateway. that said, it did suit deinos much better and I also don't like the design of the "water ways/spots" on gateway because of that. in general tho, I wouldn't like to have spiro back. not even when I play deino.
Dude.. You're such a good person, you do good things and be a nice mate overall in every situation! You didn't deserve this. You were already frustrated enough and you got that fatal error, its unfair.
thx mate ♥ but, the fatal error was just the icing on the cake. most of my frustration was about myself. first because of the messed up recording. which made me so angry that I wasn't much focused. so I failed badly to the care, which made me even more angry about myself and the carno situation put my frustration on a level I hadn't experienced in quite a while but, no worry, all good. that's just me. I hate myself when I am doing bad. I always did. but, this is just in the situation. shortly after I like myself again and can mostly laugh about it
deino was the onl;y dinosaur i played for the first 1000 hours of playtime on evrima.. there is not another apex predator experience like it on any platform .. i still could only play legacy on the potato pc i had until november, so i never experienced playing isle spiro, its been all on gateway for me. deino has gotten progressively tougher to survive with each update [so has Ptera actually] and with the growth and underwater and night vision just ridiculously frustrating on top of the struggle to maintain even a mediocre diet and lack of AI prey (why are bullfrogs on their diet but boars and schooling fish are not?) coupled with the canni spawn camping frenzy feeding... ive not played it since 6.5 i think. seems like each step forward for the crocs results in 3 steps back. and being blind at night and underwater on top of all that.. i hope it gets worked out soon. i really enjoy your videos since finding them a couple months ago hope to run into you one of these lives. lol
thx mate ♥ yeah, deino become very tough to play and enjoy. specially if you aren't enjoying the cannibal gameplay. ambushing got pretty tough (or rare) and in general the map doesn't fit much to deino by now. but, I guess, the likes of sucho and spino will make deino's life much more interesting again. it really needs some competition in the water.
that said, I had a lot of fun with deino on gateway till now. to be honest, the new weight is a much bigger deal than gateway itself to me
Wow, I was frustrated enough just watching this, I can't imagine how you felt. Deino life seems hella hard now, especially at birth, which is pretty realistic I suppose. I hope they are still tweaking some numbers while you're growing. A frog that's half your size should certainly give you a full nutrient. Also the healing looks like it takes forever, I hope that's adjusted a little. Can't believe you Cera and Carno back to back. South Plains river looks way too shallow and narrow to survive as anything but a full adult there now. Sucks that after all that, you drowned to a disconnect. Hope you do another Deino video, they are my favorite. Or an Omni, cuz you kick ass with it in PvP.

I hate how gateway made deinos almost irrelevant. On Spiro hunting prey was very viable, now it seems most people are canni because theres little proper hunting anymore as you can drink from 100% safe lakes with no deino spawns and the rivers are so big and plentiful that its just not probable to run into people outside the few hotspots
Why they made big deinos faster than small ones on land Ill never understand, on Spiro you could atleast risk the land route and try to flee, now in water or land you'll get caught if up against similar skill. You also have way less NV range as a baby - basically pitch black - so its even more stacked for the fully grown cannie at night. Last Deino I made got killed at ~ 85% by a juvie speed and damage hacker, 1 bite instant death from full health, havent played since then
the map was bad for deinos from start on. way too many safe drink spots. but, I still had fun and often teh chance to ambush. my problem is the new weight. you can't ambush anything for the first 1-2 hours (depending on your diet). which is pretty boring. like you said, best strategy is to grab fish or bodies (if available) and hide. just hide. which is so boring. I loved the other weight system where you could ambush almost from start on. at least omni and pachy and soon after even cera and after 2 hours even tenos. I didn't care that it takes longer to grow them, as I had fun from start on. now tho

Deino gameplay lets go. 😀
If you want to go south river via the ocean, you need to do so at 60% growth or later, otherwise you just swim too slowly. Your stamina lasts longer, but not enough to make it. I found it easiest when fully grown, especially since youre less vulnerable on the last stretch on land.
yeah, we really need to grow first now. about 35-40% are enough to just make it. 60% and above are way more secure tho
@@da.mombie By the way, you can hold scent just before you leave the ocean towards south pond. It takes a while but the water will show up on your compass. :)

@@da.mombie yeah the trick is to have a stamina diet and to use all your stamina in the water if you’re gonna go that early because you’ll get a lot more distance using your stam in the water than you will on the beach and you’re so weak anyway you’re not escaping from any predators if there’s anything on the beach waiting for you

I think he was calling and running to the river cause he knew you would go for the stego based on your earlier behavior. :( I absolutely have frustrating days like this in the isle, pretty frequently in fact! Where I just can't seem to grow and finally manage to, and then fatal error right when an enemy is near those are the times i decide to go play something else for a while
I was hoping it will run into the river and make it follow
sad to hear you have them that frequently. but, I played with another member recently and she told me something I didn't know at all. if you press ALT+TAB you come back into the game and can keep playing after an fatal error. just for about a minute or so, but, it's enough to safe log. well, in this situation (with the hacker stego) it wouldn't have helped me much, but, in many other of my fatal errors it would have and hopefully will save my/our life in the future

As the Deino being a specie that is common to have cannibalism and the one that takes most time to grow, is very frustrating to lose a lot of progress due a fatal error...
yes it is. but honestly, I was already so mad about myself, so, this bothered me the least of all the frustration I build up before

Ye I’ve been there with the bad luck for grabbing stuff 😂. A lot has changed it seems to the Deimos abilities of killing things quickly due to size now, so you have to be more aware of where you attack your prey and making sure to use your stam more sparingly. I think with upcoming mutations this will make deino a lot easier again hopefully
in general I have no problem with deino. even if gateway isn't the best map for deinos. but, the new weight is awful. I mean, I also have no problem to spawn with 44 kg, but that slow gaining weight kills the fun. you can't ambush ANYTHING, not even a dryo within the first 1-2 hours. which makes it so boring to play/grow imo
had the same connection lost under water with a ful grown 8 ton croc, that hurt so much 😞
yeah, it can be frustrating at times :/
I managed to do this journey yesterday but I waited for 3 tons weight and it worked like a charm. Happy hunting people

Hi Mombie, when ever you see a hacker/cheater press F2 in game it records their Actions, Steam Name and ID, you can report them by sending the video to a Discord Admin and get them deleted saving others the pain of ever meeting them

yeah, such a shame. I wish it would have run into the water. I wouldn't have attacked it. in this case I would even have tried to protect it. hacker are even worse than mixpacker
I remember that adult Crocs have a high speed and recover stamina faster than younger ones
bigger were always faster, but also ran out of stam more early. so, you could catch up on land, but mostly run out of stam before you could kill it. specially if it wasn't onehit and could already take 2-3 bites.
but, in my last deino video a about 10% bigger deino sprinted in the water to me (so it arrived with a stam disadvantage already) and yet it kept on me on land and even run around me before starting to attack when I was already out of stam. so, to me a hacker. a few people in the comments told me tho, they changed the stam and this was no hacker. well, I have my doubts

thx mate ♥ yeah, I have been very often at the south river meanwhile. took about 3 different ways to that area. but, the ocean way is the best to me, because as you said, it also works as adult. in general the south river is a very nice place for deino. I always had fun encounters there

the unstuck feature has been miraculous for me 3 out of the 4 times that i have attempted to use it. i think they have done us a huge favor attempting to implement a feature to ease so many players frustrations.. and youre still not willing to cut them some slack? can you develop and code a similar feature that works flawlessly with no adjustments ever needed? of course not... griping about bugs you havent even experienced for yourself is wild. yea you should chill out omni.. lol have a great day

what server where you playing on because i am pretty positive that carno was me xD i had the exact same occurrence yesterday, on the dot.
was on EU2. I recorded it on saturday and sunday. the carno was on sunday. did you also fought with me on the land nearby the waterfall shortly before. because I think this was the same carno that I fought more early when I forgot to record ^^ not quite sure tho

hello, when you are on ocean, you can sprint up until 10% stamina, swiming slow upt 100% and repit the process no worries, when swiming you reven so very fast stamina

mit dem update kamen neue settings und ich probiere da gerade ein wenig herum. bin aber nur semi zufrieden im moment. hab so ein grieseln bei sonnenuntergängen sieht man witzigerweise im video weit weniger als bei mir am bildschirm

@@da.mombie na, der zweite hat echt lange durchgehalten, darum mag ich zum Beispiel Bäume, einfach drunter verkeilen, funzte bei mir immer recht gut, aber so einen spot erst mal finden ist so ne Sache. Hm für dich örglich @grieseln, aber ist mir weniger aufgefallen

yes evrythings go wrong any time i play... : crached, or lags, or ping, or hackers, or loosing my dino after a restart/crached or anything else making the game so much boaring.....
that's unlucky. to me those days are pretty rare. maybe you should have a break. I also had one some time ago. often helps
I've been noticing an uptick in speed hackers usually they are Chinese and have random numbers and letters in their name
I met two within the last 3-4 weeks. which is more than normal as I only met about 10-15 hackers within the last 2 years. so, in general that's not much from my experience. I often met 15 hackers within a week in day-z or very back in the days I met 15 hackers within a day in counter strike
That was definitely a bad session, lol. I've had days like that when I started to get too aggravated, and my friends had to tell me to chill. Did you report the hacker? Also, you should have hit replay when you saw the speed hacker to get their name. It was a good video, anyway. It sucks you lost your deino to a fatal error.

no, it didn't happen to me by now. but, that's nothing special to me. I got pinned by an omni as almost any dino. dryo, pachy, teno, carno, cera, hypsi, dilo and even stego. so, no big deal to me.
in fact it is the same experience that a raptor has, if you grab it
Warum sieht es in deinen Videos immer so schön aus? 😫 ich werde die ganze Zeit nur noch von Hackern getötet also cera deino… und noch eine Frage bezüglich petitds pieds, spielst du noch auf dem Server? Weil ich wurde auf dem Server von Mixpacker getötet auf Feinste Weise und den Admins war es natürlich egal…
ich habe vor kurzem wieder mal mit einem member auf petits server gespielt. persönlich hatte ich noch keine probleme und daher auch keinen kontakt mit deren admins. aber ich bin halt meistens auf den offiziellen unterwegs
@@da.mombie Ach und wegen dem error, das haben aktuell alle Spieler das die Dinos einfach verschwinden. Bei mir ist das aber irgendwie anders herum also mein adult Carno wurde durchs Safe logen gespeichert heißt wenn ich sterbe Spann ich so wie ich mich ausgeloggt habe aber das kann so bleiben muss ich keinen neuen mehr growen 😜

Den selben Stego, (auch EU2 und ebenfalls als Crocs) hatten wir vor ein paar Tagen auch. Ich war gerade dabei eine Stego Leiche zu essen, da kam dieser Stego mit extremer Geschwindigkeit auf mich zugerannt und griff mich an. Ich hab es gerade noch rechtzeitig ins Wasser geschafft ^^
ich werd die deppn nie verstehen ^^ leider gibts halt kaum ein PVP spiel ohne diese idioten
MAJOR tip (though it might be patched eventually): If you want to go anywhere on the map, leave from the River delta by swimming through the dam underwater. as you transition to salt water the game still thinks it's fresh, and then only your food drain is the limiting factor. so you have 90 minutes+ to get where your going (I like going to the far east Pond). I assume its a bug but I've been using for months along with a lot of other players (I assume this is old news).

@@quarreneverett4767 at the river delta. between this delta and the ocean is a dam which has two holes to swim through.

I don't really understand why I've not been finding any ai on official servers is anyone else having this problem? And no I'm not on the new 150 player servers that clearly say no ai.
I saw a lot AI. many of them are stucking in rocks tho specially deer and goats. there is less AI compared to the last update. but, there is one.
@da.mombie yes exactly i haven't seen any deer goats boars ect but have seen fish which is weird. Thanks so much though i was going crazy for a while lol 😆
@@BX-Fish srsly, try the big rocks around the typical spawn areas. I very often saw a deer or goat stuck in them. you don't see them from afar if you don't look for it. just because we are used to look more into the open. well, at least I am
edit: the other problem is that they reduced the volume of their calls. so, they are even harder to hear
@da.mombie Yes! Exact same situation here looking for the ai where is has been for so long and just wandering for an hour lol. Also the audio has definitely made a big difference as well but that seems like a good change if the ai was walking around as normal.

@@Naasir-used well, if you don't know it, here is the story. when jurassic park 1 was released, there was no raptor discovered which was bigger than the velociraptor. so steven spielberg took the veloci (which is actually as tiny as a chicken) and made them much bigger. you know, hollywood is all about the show to be fair, we didn't know back then that they had feathers. so, they designed their raptors the way they did and we all know from the movie.
when the isle was released, they based their raptor on the famous and well known model of jurrasic park. meanwhile were utahraptors discovered tho. which actually have about the size of the movie raptors. so, to make it more realistic, they called them utahraptor.
well, since then our picture of utahraptors changed a lot tho. because science thinks they had feathers now. the isle want to offer a more realistic utahraptor model (with feathers) in the future. but many parts of the community LOVE the jurassic park model. so, they decided to keep it in the game with a new name. omniraptor. which is a fake name (there never was an omniraptor in real life) for a pretty fake hollywood raptor

Honestly, if they gonna make a map with 100+ safe drink spots, with horrendous NV, terrible croc growth/weight and growth/speed ratio, stupid amount of stuck spots in the main river... they might as well remove Deino, and bring it back reworked in the future with the Apex kits release.
why should they remove it? this would be so bad for all those who enjoy deino. personally I enjoyed the fast gaining weight system much more. other people told me they like the new system. so what now? shall they remove deino just because I don't like it? would be a pretty selfish imo if I don't like it that much, then I just don't play it. that simple
@@da.mombie Deino feels completely out of sync right now with the rest of the game's direction that (is trying) to promote movement and migration. I'm adamant that devs absolutely hate the fact that they ever added croc in the game. They designed a map where deino is not viable (safe drink spots + bridges everywhere) and they made growth slow and boring. It cant get any clearer.

first of all, the migration and movement has nothing to do with deino. migration is only for herbs anyway. carnis don't have migration zones. they just see the ones of herbs. the growth has nothing to do with deino, too. EVERY dino grows longer now. the new weight (which I also don't like) changed about 6 times since I play. sometimes we get weight quickly like crazy, next time it takes forever to be able to ambush. even more, this is also something which is the same for EVERY dino. they change these stats all the time.
last but not least the map design. which I also don't like (from a deino's point of view). BUT, deino players are just a little part of the community. many parts of the community don't like deino for obvious reasons. they complained a lot about it in the past. so, the devs might just have listened to them. which is a majority compared to the few deino main players. so sry mate, nothing supports your suggestion about them hating deino.
in fact, deino suffers the most from being the only water predator by now. the likes of spino and sucho will change this and make deino's life way more interesting and no longer so dependent on ambush situations. the game is far from being ready and nobody will care about how strong or weak a certain dino was at a certain time during the development. yet, every time any dino gets nerved, their main players go crazy and blame the devs for no reason. it's so ridiculous

Devs themselves said they will "beat Deino with the difficulty stick", and they broke its NV (for 4 months if u didnt have RTX gpu deino was unplayable, no NV lines), you cant ambush because ur splashes are bugged and heard even if u are underwater, your eyes glow like flashlights... And now the mega hotspot where most people are is south plains where crocs cant even spawn, can only get there if they make a huge journey in ocean/land. I'm not even a croc main (thank god), all im saying is, rather than pure "frustration" which is the title and content of YOUR video since Spino and Sucho arent even on the roadmap so happy 2026 by the time we see them, all im saying is they should re-work the deino kit and bring it back later with the Apexes ecosystem.

I told you already twice, just because YOU are frustrated, it doesn't mean everyone is. many people enjoy deino the way it is. so again, why are you so selfish and want to take deino out of the game if many people are still enjoying it? if you don't like it, then just don't play it. but, respect that others do enjoy it and don't want it to be removed.

@@galkepic9229 thx, but I really have to say stupid. because it was the third time in a row that I forgot to press F2 when I met a hacker. I only met 3 hackers since they introduced the F2 feature and every time I totally forgot about that feature being implemented. people asked me in the comments and I am like, JEEEEEZ, how stupid can you be?

not even valve (steam), who are one of the most successful game developers in history, did manage to keep their games like CS free of hackers. even during E-sports events of CS some people managed to hack. but yeah, a little dev studio should magically do something which not even the biggest dev studios ever managed to do. are you serious?

'cause my brain wasn't functioning at all. both scenes were right after I noticed that I messed up the recording of the carno battle before. I was so mad about myself and wasn't focused at all. my brain was more like, jeez, you fool, why, dammit, how, jeez, why did I forgot to push record, jeez, 4 hours without action and then I mess up to record the only action I had, I am such a fool, jeez, why, srsly, I hate myself and so on.

its not that big deino have more stamina, its the walk speed, you are so small now, that even running, you almost lose to a walk full growth deino LOL

the only change was that fresh juvs even having more stamina than adults deinos, are so small, that the size make all the diff, you are slower on land and water, but have more stamina for sure, but still SLOWER LOL
@@1usineiro somehow I love that we are so tiny and slow at the start. still, I would love to gain weight more fast. it doesn't have to be as quick as in the previous update, but a little more fast. well, in general I would love EVERY dino to grow same and like 25% growth = 25% of the final weight, 50% is 50% of the final weight and so on. it doesn't make sense to me that a dino has only 50% weight at 80% growth or already 50% weight at 30% growth

well, stego is for almost 2 years now way stronger than deino. so, each stego who got caught by a deino, was probably a new player. best example is myself. I am an average player and only managed to kill a stego in 1vs1 twice. yet, my stego NEVER died to any deino in a 1vs1. which says it all XD
so if anything, then stego is OP. but, to me none of them is OP. they are just in another class of dinos. they weigh 3-4 times more than the most heavy mid tier. it's ridiculous to compare them imo :/
