I have to replace my radio on my crossfire, but think this project is over my pay grade. You explain it well, but I don't think I can do it. The radio is the only thing that still works. The front display is cut in half, the GPS was always awful, and is now outdated. Ugh! I also hate to turn it over to Best Buy or any of those people. Now I see why they charge 70 for install! Oh, important to have an on/off button. No off button, the battery will be drained. Had it on by accident and it destroyed my battery. Love the car. Guess it's always something!
the reason that cord doesn't fit with the crossfire is because the crossfire is not actually made by chrysler, it's made by some guy i can't remember his name but the car is based off the 1st generation mercedes benz SLK.. so the majority of the parts are actually merceds parts
Very late to this thread, but it is a SLK, with Chrysler SKIN.. built in Germany by DC (Mercedes Benz when they where a partner with Chrysler). A for this stereo remove.. two hack saw blades ground down on end so they fit in will work great for this. Amp remote is in floorboard in passenger side, plate over it where passenger feet go.. 2 Subs behind seats, 2ohm so impossible to find replacements..
I actually have the car parked in storage now but if you watch the video you might be able to figure it out...I'd take pics if i could but at the moment I can't. Sorry.
They do make an adapter for this too.. got mine on Crutchfield for free... with a Stereo.. Look in the Watercraft stuff, some of its silver if you want it to match better, but they charge more for less, and have poor selections.
Establish the main power wires first and the ground then I just tried the other speaker wires until the deck worked properly. A tester probe would help. they are cheap.
Bad install, the tape will fall off. Have the parts you need before you start the install. Get the right harness, and the keys to remove the unit, and the antenna adapter. When you have the right harness the release keys and the antenna adapter it's a 10 minute install. SMH.
larry moya worked for me so I think it was a good install. I like taking extra time doing stuff when I have nothing else to do. I did an installation 21 years ago on my Tiburon and all the tape is still there and it still sounds just the way I like it. I like my simple easy, figure it out and enjoy life way of doing things. It’s worked so far 😊
I have this car, personally. The adapter doesn't give you rear speakers (I've tried 4 or 5 brands) and ALL the antenna adapters on the market don't fit. Good luck trying to get easy-to-install parts on an old car. I do agree, however, that he should have at least butt connectors, if not solder and heatshrink tubing. The tape is always a bad look...
@@maakuw I sold my crossfire, I kept the harness adapter for it. I don’t have any use for it. All 4 speakers worked, and I didn’t have an issue with the antenna adapter either.
Sweet!!! Thanks for posting!

This is great! I am having a tough time finding a system for my 2004 crossfire I just bought, any recommendations?
Just buy what ever you like and go from there.
