    If I could dial out the modeled "mechanical noises" like the artificially risen noise floor and tape splice points, and store multiple presets.... and maybe cut just a bit more treble from the repeats, this would be the perfect delay pedal.

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  3 года назад +4

      Hi! Thanks for your message, hope you're well and safe.
      This is a wonderful time to be a pedal nerd! Neither is a bad option. Each has advantages. Walrus are taking contemporary ideas and making them accessible, while UA uses their studio heritage and circuit rendering tech to offer a new take on vintage sounds. Think of it in terms of your overall setup more so than the individual pedal.

    Hi
    So if I save a preset, when I turn the Starlight on, does it start up with the preset like the Golden or does it start up with tap tempo every time;? So I have to keep pressing tap for a few seconds when I need my preset. Could be awkward live…

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  2 года назад +1

      Hi, MrPerfectfeet. The pedal reboots to the state that it was last left in, including whatever tempo you have set. In other words, if you power down the pedal with the preset active, that is how it will boot up as well.

    • @sweetwater

  • @phladjki

    the precision is a definite misstep. It doesn’t make sense to spend $400 for a digital delay sound. Amazing ep-3 emulation: yes. amazing DMM emulation: maybe not (can just buy an actual DMM).
    This needs several more modes to make room for a plain digital delay and a guitar pedal emulation. Cooper time cube is on the right track. Let’s get an echorec, oil can, different types of tape delays. roland space echo. let’s make inaccessible gear accessible, not emulate basic gear - what’s the point?

    • @wargo6263
      @wargo6263 3 года назад +3

      The new DMM's are nothing like a vintage DMM. This is modeled after the vintage DMM. If you want to buy one of those it'll cost you upwards of $800.

    • @uriahroseii1026
      @uriahroseii1026 3 года назад +1

      @@wargo6263 I almost never use my real tape echo's these days. Usually a 90s DMM RI or a newer Roland RE20 Space Echo I like a lot. The RE20 turned into my go-to unit. I'd have to get a Starlight to try it out, but don't think it really does anything I can't do (or need) already.
