I’ve watched a lot of videos for this pedal and what makes this one the best one I’ve seen is you don’t just demo the features of the pedal and play through, but you explain the use of the effects, where to use them and their practical application (with very clear and audible examples)!
Why no one has done lessons like this showing HOW players can use a certain effect?! This would have saved me so much time when I was learning how to use effects years ago, but all guys did on YT was review the pedal, not talk about ways to use it. Great concept, Corey.
Thank you, Corey, for this very pleasant, and "in-depth", "splashy," demo, of this AWESOME" SPRING REVERB EFFECTS BOX!... I'LL BE ORDERING ONE, ASAP!!!
well it definitely sold one of them. I've been trying to keep myself under control for a month or so, but I watched this video about 20 minutes ago and sadly only managed to keep strong for about 5 minutes after it ended and have now ordered one. I'm rewatching from the start again now just to up the excitement (like it needed it).
Hey Corey! Watching this again way after the fact since I'm considering getting a Golden! Just wanted to say this is an amazing video, exactly what I want from a demo. It's as much of a lesson as it is a demo, in the best way possible! Incredibly thorough and informative, love your content!!

As opposed to cheaper pedals (or e.g., the older Strymon pedals like the Blue/Big Sky), the UAFX Golden Reverberator (GR) keeps the overall signal quality intact. I recently tested the Big Sky and it made everything sent through it mellow or even dull. People tend to underestimate pedals such as the GR because it doesn't offer much in terms of reverb modes. Usually, there are a couple of well known algorithms like Shimmer one can find on even much cheaper pedals. The GR just goes for the classic reverbs of the past but does it on a very high level. IMHO, the 224-mode on the GR is tough competition for the Chase Bliss CXM 1978 (which costs almost 1000 $).
Great demo, I have the Golden and Starlight and I am in love with them. best sounding reverb pedal i have heard and the starlight is the closest you can get to a vintage Deluxe Memory Man
Thanks for the review…and being humble…wonderful pedal but wish they would have made the mod knob be a spring reverb drive for the spring setting…like when your spring reverbs character changes as you crank your amp
Great demo! I've never really understood "pre-delay" - but now the meaning seems so obvious 🤦♂️ The "bright" "Spring 65" setting sounds more like the old Fender 6G15 outboard reverb units. They dripped, unlike built-in Fender amp reverb (I found that out the hard way, years ago, after getting a Deluxe Reverb, expecting surf drip, but still just getting the same non-drippy verb as my other Fender amps). Just putting this in here so someone might not make the same mistake I did. I ended up getting a DIY 6G15 kit, but this pedal drips just as hard, and is much more portable/versatile. If you want drip, you won't get it from an amp, but you will with this pedal! 🤙🤙
This video is incredible. I have the UA Golden on the way and while waiting I have watched quite a few, but your playing / composition and recorded tone (and voice volume matching) are PERFECT. I now realize this pedal is not only going to be kick ass for my live rig, but it will be essential for recording. SUBSCRIBED!
This video convinced me that UAFX Golden is my next reverb pedal. No, I don't mind the absence of MIDI since I don't use it. And I'm perfectly fine with a good spring reverb + one favorite I can recall when ever needed. Thanks Corey, this video killed other demos/reviews of Golden. Sorry Henning, Andertons, Pete and others ;)
Agreed. This is the best video I have found on this pedal. Outstanding explanation on everything. Hopefully Corey does a review on the Starlight as well so I can keep emptying my wallet
Excellent demo, I really wanted to get this pedal but as many have said here already you managed to highlight the effects not your playing (though excellent), can't wait to pick mine up tomorrow from the shop.
So, the Mix knob is essentially like the "Reverb" knob on an Amp? Or is it slightly different? I got this pedal to have the most, best options, but I'm totally thrown by options like Decay, Predelay, and Mix. Going into this video, my main question was how do I learn enough about this pedal and reverb in general to start somewhere safe and practical, and then be able to dial in from there? It seemed as if no matter what, I would end up with a crazy loud reverb by spinning the knobs on my own. And even when I tried something safe, like reading the manual and turning everything to noon, it still sounded crazy. Despite wanting a little wet, I was getting so much wet that I began to prefer dry. So thank you for this video. You apparently do the legwork of thinking about your audience and making these lessons that are helpful for anyone. I appreciate this because it feels as if every video just assumes that I know about studio effects and everything about reverb in general. I totally want to learn that stuff, but in the meantime I just want usable reverb tone out of this pedal, which I feel more confident that I can do now. Maybe I'll realize that this pedal isn't for me, but I'm under the impression that this is a pedal I should be able to use just like amp reverb for playing live or at home or recording. So, best of luck to me I guess, haha! Thanks!!
Mix is like a blend control. As you turn in up clockwise, it “mixes” in more reverb with your guitar signal. At noon, you would hear a 50/50 mix of both guitar and reverb etc. My videos are all about teaching! Just did a livestream today on Delay! Check it out!
