Sometimes I think that glorious fro is just made to be an antenna to find the best frequencies for that sweet sweet tone. As much as I love the indepth stuff you do, a complete rundown like this one sets everything in context and I think thats so important to see ! Well done Sir!
I watch this over and over. The times are amazing. I have the golden starlight Astra Lion and Fender 65. They sound so good with getting quick amazing tones. They make me play more. Thanks for your videos. They inspire me.
Agreed, there are so many pedals being released all the time people forget how good these are. I have the golden, starlight and Astra. I bought them when they were first released and using the UAFX app on my iPad to control them is pretty cool just great stuff from UA I have been using them for mixing as well. I use the radial EXTC unless going in Hiz on the interface or pre
Ive been rockin' the tri-fecta of UA pedals and cant stop playing them! Great short video but to the point and good show of tones. Again, great video brother!
I would love these pedals but also I want some victory amps to match with them. I would also like to use those pedals as outboard gear. 😁. Your studio rig is amazing and u definitely deserve it. Ur such an inspiration and wickedly talented
Plus one on the victory amps. I have owned a V30 MK2 for 3 years and a V40 for about one year. I love to pile on effects using the FX loops of both in stereo. Absolutely love Victory and speak very highly of them!
The advent of modern electronics make creating the imagined easier... it adds depth, shift and bearing. We are blessed to have these tools, just add the soul. Peace.
13:22 hit and gave me instant Billy Corgan Gish/Siamese Dream-era vibes. Badass playing as usual, Bea. There are few people who can capture such a huge amount of emotion even while casually playing. 🤘
Bea! Incredible playing as usual, man. One question: could you do a video on how you go about getting a good crunch sound from amps for ambient playing? I can dial in a beautiful clean or the nastiest metal rhythm, but your crunch is just sublime. Cheers, mate!
To do it ‘correctly’ you need two amps, and you either put the pedal in the FX loop of both amps or you run your guitar into the pedal and the L and R outs to the amps. Then just record the amps as you normally would. If you only have one amp, you would have to put the stereo effect after the amp. So either after a loadbox on the way in, or if you are micing up you would have to reamp the recorded tone through the pedal. I think Bea puts them through the FX loops and then records the amps direct with load boxes.
A Lexicon PCM80/81 does ALL of this and much more, better sounding and MUCH closer to a 224, with tons of realtime control based on dynamics, MIDI and other aspects... and all working at higher voltages (true line levels).
No brother you have some great great sound effects in every budget category nowadays. The only exception to me are those really deep and long ambient reverbs, those cannot be had without paying more... everything else - it is there..
Man............I thought the Reverb pedal sounded amazing and then the Echo/delay kicked in and took it to a whole different level. Absolutely beautiful sounds! Obviously Rabea’s playing contributes a lot to the orgasmic sounds we’re hearing too, lol.
Quick question. If you could only choose one, would u choose the UAD Golden, Strymon Big Sky, or the Source Audio Ventress? I want to upgrade my reverb from a TC Hall of Fame 2, but spending 400-500 on a pedal doesn’t allow my budget to try them all. I wish I could catch them all. 🥲
So I currently have a Big Sky and just got the Golden. I've not owned a Ventress but I did have a Collider once which has a lot of the same algorithms. As to your question it depends what you want. The Big Sky does the incredible, performance type reverbs that don't sound natural but are still incredible especially for ambient and soundscape stuff. The Golden doesn't do that stuff but it absolutely nails the more natural reverbs with an incredible clarity that I've only really heard in a Chase Bliss CXM (which I can't afford). The Big Sky does have Spring, Plate, Room and Hall and they're mostly usable but they just aren't on the same level, the Spring in particular isn't that good. So as I say I think it depends what you want it for, what type of music you hope to play. I don't see me replacing the Big Sky or Golden for many years.
If you like ambient - Gfi Specular Tempus. Trust me :) a little less money than those, small size ,great algorithms and you get delay and mixed engines in there too!
I have also owned a Specular Tempus (my Reverb journey has taken in many destinations 😅) and there are some nice sounds in that, the Spatium, Tremble and until the Golden the best Plate 'verb I'd heard in a pedal but ultimately I felt there was more clarity in the Big Sky and I just preferred the tone plus I already have an Echosystem for my delays. I agree though, in terms of form factor, cost, footprint and the fact you get delays too, the Specular Tempus is a great pedal.
@Chris Davies and @Vladimir Pavlovic thanks for the insight and replies. I like playing more ambient styles, but i was also looking for a good natural sounding reverb as well to widen my tonal range. Ive always imagined the Big Sky to be able to nail it all, but thanks for letting me know otherwise. Im going to look into the Specular Tempus some more. Ive seen that pedal around, but ive never really looked into it. Im starting to think i should try to save up for both the Golden for natural reverbs and then another reverb for my ambient tones.
@@orryfishburne5326 I own all these reverbs, and it depends on what options you need. Ventris can do ANYTHING and sounds better than the Bigsky, much more clear. Golden can do the least of them all but sounds the best I guess. Golden is a bit weird, Ventris has a good pedigree of reverb makers from histroy who worked on it... it is really good.
Rabea I feel for ya, the company expects you to move some of these units but with all the good sub 200 and far less pound units out there it's a very hard sell!
I don't doubt the sound quality on these pedals is really good. But I see nothing special in these pedals. You can get more for less. They fell quite a bit short on these. No midi? Really? Common UA regardless of audio quality and processing power these are rehashed and dumbed down reincarnations of stuff that Strymon and Boss, let alone many others, have perfected over the last 10 years.
@@Iron-and-strings we live in a day and age that the quality of an audio signal from a digital device can't actually get "better". The algorithms used to produce the particular characteristics of the reverb type are what is drawing you in. It's not that it any better. It's just newer. And honestly just because it does one thing great doesn't mean they couldn't have programed several other great reverbs into this pedal. And have presets recalled by midi. If you are set and forget kind of player I can easily see this being a go to reverb for some. But at that price it could have been designed with a bit more flexibility.
As usual, just here for the playing

Yeah, but man his tone 😱

Man I love it when my ‘coffee before starting work’ time can be filled with a new Bea video. Boo tea full playing as always.
I could listen to these riffs all day dude! Fantastic tones.
Oh god, all those pedals sound amazing!!! I like the midi part from the Strymon stuff but oh man to me this is pretty amazing as it is!!
Loved listening to all the tones combined!
from 17:00 the melody is brilliant!!!
Outstanding playing as always Bea, and the pedals sound awesome!
Fooking awesome. But then again, I just come to see and hear the Bea(st).

Love the gear.. love the playing even more
When one finds himself death-metal'd out, he must find his way to the Fro Man. FroMan shall give you keys, for the doors you seek.
Geez that lick at 1:17 sounds incredible
Wow, towards the end there was a part that reminded me of the Brighton Rock Solo by Brian May! Rabea is definitively a guitar god!
Sounding mega!!!!!
Divine intro!
Sounds killer 🔥🤘🏼
I got the Golden today, I must say it’s incredible, i have the Timeline but wondered how the Starlight compares? Rabea?
I just ordered a Golden Reverberator. My bank account doesn’t appreciate your channel…but I do!

@Rabea Massaad love your playing, I would like to know which pickups you use on the blue guitar with hambuckers. thanks!!

Could you explain how to record stereo effects into the DAW? Wheter with a Loadbox or mics. :) Thank you!

Mayones Aquila Elite S, I believe.

Its hard to care about the pedals when you play as good as that. I almost forgot this was a pedal demo at times ahahah
Sounds great!
I’m surprised they didn’t make a preamp/OD type pedal
You are well on your way to Buckethead!
Rabea, please show us how to use the pedal as outboard gear. I’m on Logic and need to learn how.

Can you do the same with Boss pedals is my question.
More ambient tutorials please. Especially using cheaper pedals and an amp :)

Hi ! I was wondering when we here the amps thru the attenuators, are we hearing Irs? Or mic'd attenuated cabs?
rProb from the amp straight into the torpedo with IR's, or through the Ox Box.
Whats with that "dead" pixel in the main shot? I don't know why that is distracting, but it is...
