CS2 Surf Rampbugs were rampant. The end was near. Then, suddenly, out of no where, holy moly, Valved blessed us with a CS2 Update, to fix a CS2 Anomaly, and prevent people from being CS2 Furiousss. At the end of the day, yes.

@@xXMrPersieXx Who cares how the maps look if the game itself is ass. Better graphics doesn't always mean better. There's so many issues with CS2 let alone the community server aspect side of it. Idk maybe it's just me but rather have smooth consistent gameplay instead of maps that look insane. Bhopping feels scuffed on KZ, Surfing you just get stuck on ramps half of the time.

I'm doing as much as I can to get Momentum Mod out sooner. CS2 is such a disappointment for surfers 😢

Feel like I've been having that happen to me on GO as well for the longest time
The valve “jump bug” fix actually has to do with rounding where you strafe into a wall while holding w/s and strafing side to side on it with a and d or holding a/d and strafing side to side on it with w/s
it was very easy to do accidentally when trying to jump up on something holding WD,WA etc.
so to fix this they actually removed a movement tech, rounding in the past has let you do pixel walks

I love how a video game teaches me about game engine and technical stuff more than diving into meta and stuff. I suck at this game but what cs taught me over the years about game development is crazy.

The ramp bug fix plugin isn’t actually released yet. It’s part of zer0k-z cs2kz mod and hasn’t been ported to a standalone plugin for surf servers yet. After this write up from him though I’m sure something will come along soon.
Repster could you make a video on KZ? There's a map barely anyone play that is just insane, its called kzpro_only_up_extended and it might be the largest map ever made in cs, its massive and beautiful to look at and i wish it was more popular.

I mean, if it's an in-engine bug, which it is. Only valve can fix it entirely.
I'm happy valve has at least somewhat fixed the surfing buts, but they are still a long way from being flawless, and I hope valve notices us even if our community is relatively small
Movement community is a decent size with KZ, bhop, and surf as well as the other game modes like HNS. However Valve gave our community the short end of the stick. It's better off just playing whatever mode in the previous games.

It's not really less accessible, and we do know why. SourceMod, which every plugin (including timers) you're familiar with runs on took many years to make. It already existed long before CS:GO's release and since the engine was effectively the same as CS:S, TF2, etc. porting was (somewhat) trivial.
CS2 is using a completely novel engine, SourceMod is not just magically compatible with it in the same way it doesn't work with Unreal or Unity. We have lost decades of plugins and experience, getting back to where we were will take time but it is possible.

just give it a shot on an near to you (for lower ping) xplay server from the cs2browser its actually working i feel it i have proof just landed nyx w curved ramps and all, any exitsting bugs might have been a mappers mistake but the plugin does what it says on the tin trust in the process this is a huge fix anyone who is shit talking rn they havent surfed nearly as much as i have 5k+ hrs on 1 server alone if they can top that id like to bet on their degeneracy and raise with my own
i feel the noticeable difference of being able to surf on a STRAIGHT ramp and getting bugs before the fix and the after where there is a almost seamless fix for the bug and can do entire maps over and over wout 1 bug killing a run yes the bugs are deff there but the fix does just that fixes your angle and speed of before you hit the bug nothing is 100% but its a huge improvement
i made an annoying comment last time about how cs2 broke my favorite game thank you for this update and it seems to run and function mostly so far i am sorry for my outburst over the only game i truly love in 2024, no one could surf cs2 and i thought my fav game was going to be a foot note in cs2 and ultimately die so i apologize for my shitpost

I am surfing in CS2 and I noticed right away everything about it is screwed or the servers I am on are perhaps trash? The ramp-bug has not been really fixed and as shown in you video, you are just getting boosted instead... Which ruins also your run... I am sure the world records on xplay servers are all fake xd

cs2 is less accessible to modding cuz its a new game like they have to rewrite everything, one of the 20 devs will probably get to it 2026

Or CSS. The surf community is still going strong there. I have since switched over to CSS and I couldn't be happier.

@@Pepe_LeMac I think it's just a nice way of saying the game sucks. CS2 has been a disappointment and still so much content is still missing from the game let alone the community server side of it. Valve also gave the movement community the short end of the stick. Better off playing kz, surf, or bhop in the previous CS games.
@@edmontonoilers4096 the games also been out for less than a year when compared to cs go or CSS which have been out for a decade plus on source 1. New engine, they're figuring shit out still , I'm sure in the long run it will come good just gotta be patient

BC CHEATERS PAY MORE THEN NORMAL PLAYERS ( cheaters get banned then repay for the games example :rust cheaters and probably any game that has to be paid for) ALL THEY(devs) CARE ABOUT IS MONEY why do you think there are no hardline solutions yet for any game (including valorants kernal level anticheat)???? cheating will be normalized before long just like china's player base sorry to say but i have little hope left for fps games yes there were cheaters before but not like this but for surf there's a window of opportunity that you are missing the fix works but i understand the rest difference is that surf has a ton of great surf servers that moderate wr times that look fishy or not the intended route i.e. less cheaters on surf in my opinion tldr: don't throw the baby (cs2 surf) out with the bathwater (cheaters/bugs like peekers advantage which got fixed after people talked about it enough)
