  • It’s Christmas Eve and there’s nowhere we’d rather be than back on the river on a crisp winter’s morning. However, on this occasion we’ve briefly ditched the float rods and taken a huge step outside our comfort zone in an attempt to get to grips with a method that, over the last 2 decades, has seen a huge rise in popularity; Euro-nymphing.
    Is the insurmountable excitement and enthusiasim shown by the ‘purist’ Grayling angler truly justified?
    We’re about to find out.

    Well done on attempting the nymphs lads. I think Alex is right on the features of the river, nothing really to focus on in terms of runs and seems, although the fish are obviously there. Baby steps guys, but still great to see your versatility on the channel👌👍 happy new year to you both and all the best for 2023.

    Great video boys don't think you were doing anything wrong with the nymph method your best bet would be trying it on a beat you are familiar with build up some confidence. Nothing worse than trying a new method and struggling at it I do the same myself all the time. Looking forward to the next film.
    Merry Xmas and a happy new year fellas 👍🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣

    Yessss boys...😂😂😂 Although, most probs the most difficult way to catch your Grayling, particularly at this time of year...😁
    I'd be trotting too... 👍
    Some head of Grayling in that river, very surprised you don't pick uo more kelted trout...

    Heavier nymph on the point maybe 5mm tungsten. An arm length between tippet ring and point 5” to dropper (smaller nymph, shrimp etc) depending on depth of water is how high you have indicator I usually go about 18” above tippet ring amnesia then 8” indicator. Above your indicator u want 16’ of amnesia onto your fly line. Try keep the tension so you can feel the nymphs bouncing of the bottom. If you keep your rod just above horizontal and line in your other hand youl feel the line go tight when they bite. Best of luck guys good video content tight lines

    Hi lads just watching your video if your fishing floating indicator check out Andy Buckley set up and keep up the videos 😂

      @alexallanangling Год назад +1

      Hey. I've watched a few of Andy and IB's videos. I like the idea of the stick-on indicators, sandwiched either side of a hook, pinned in place by float stops. I'll be trying that soon. Looks awful but works a treat. Thanks for the continued comments.
