Angling 360°
Великобритания
Добавлен 20 мар 2016
It’s said that variety is the spice of life, and when it comes to fishing, we couldn’t agree more. Come and join two obsessed anglers in a light-hearted attempt to showcase the vast array of angling opportunities that Scotland has to offer. If it swims and has fins, we’ll probably try and catch it.
Fly Fishing for Trout & Pike on THE LAKE | The Lake of Menteith | Rainbow Trout | Esox Lucius
The Lake of Menteith is renowned as one of, if not the, best Trout fishery in Scotland, and it's always a pleasure to get afloat on this iconic water, whether it be in search of Pike, or the hard fighting Rainbows that make this place famous.
On its day, it can be prolific, but on others, it can be a tough nut to crack. On this occasion, low overnight temperatures and a 'new' easterly wind are ominous signs as we set out on a stunning November morning. Trout is the main target, but a few casts for something a little toothier may be called for.
With tough conditions and tough fishing, we're determined to bring a few fish to the net, even if it does mean fighting dirty. Perhaps not one for ...

Part 3 | A 600 Mile Quest for a P.B | Barbel Fishing | River Trent
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.19 часов назад
Part 3 , the third and final day of our latest biannual River Trent pilgrimage offers a chance to redeem ourselves for a rather lacklustre performance on day 2 (part 2). In our defence, the under par performance may well have been a hangover for a ridiculously productive and energy sapping day 1 (part 1). Can we finish on a high before we make the 300 miles trip back home. Having one PB under o...

A Winters Tale ~ Season III ~ Chapter I | Grayling Fishing on the Fly | Fly Fishing
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.14 дней назад
Finally, the time we have been waiting for all year has arrived. As Autumn colours fill the riverbank and the days approach their shortest, the murk and mist of a November morning indicate the opening of a short window of daylight in which we search the rippling runs and gleaming glides of the river, in the hunt for the most enigmatic of winter species, the Grayling. The anticipation has grown ...
Part 2 | Barbel Fishing | How We Feeder Fish for Barbel
Просмотров 3 тыс.21 день назад
After a hectic first day on the river, that saw 16 fish to the net and very little time to even sit down, day 2 looks to be a slightly more relaxed affair, and in all honesty, we're not really complaining. A slower day on the fishing does, however, offer the chance to have a look at how we actually go about targeting these fish. This is by no means a fully comprehensive 'How to' video, just a c...
Esox Diaries | Season III ~ Episode I | Boat Fishing for Pike
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.28 дней назад
It’s that time of year again; mid-October, and the ‘hunt for a leviathan’ continues for a 3rd season in Esox Diaries. Over the last 3 winters, our goal has been a fish in excess of 25lbs, and this was achieved in season 1 where we finished our quest with a flurry of nice fish. Season 2, however, was one to forget, with tough fishing experienced throughout, and the best fish only going to a mere...
Part 1 | Barbel Bonanza | River Trent | Barbel Fishing | Red Letter Day.
Просмотров 6 тыс.Месяц назад
After a 6 hour journey through the night, we’ve arrived on the banks of the River Trent for the second time this year and been greeted by a river in tip-top condition. After months of summer low conditions, we arrive 36 hours after rain of biblical proportions. The river is carrying a meter of extra water, it’s dirty and angry; perfect conditions for our target, the Barbel. The dramatically dif...
Sea Loch Fishing in The Scottish Highlands | Out on the S.I.B

On the rare occasion, our meticulously calculated plans unfold seamlessly, every foreseen detail addressed and catered for, our decisions based on these, and the rewards well and truly reaped. This was not one of those occasions. Trial and error is all part and parcel of fishing, but even full acceptance of this fails to supress the utter frustration when things just don't work out, especially ...

Our latest attempt at a 3lbs Perch, yet again takes us back to Scotland's Big Perch mecca; a venue, that we're honestly surprised that we haven't had a big fish from yet. This place never fails to instil a deep sense of optimism each and every visit, and today is no different. Conditions are good, water clarity is as good as you're going to get on this loch, and we know that there are huge Perc...
Coastal Sea fishing on the West Coast of Scotland for Spurdogs | PLUS Pigeon and Rabbit Al Fresco

With the beginnings of the, what now feels like never-ending, period of relentless strong westerlies crashing ashore, options for a relatively comfortable day on the rocks were, to say the least, limited. Nevertheless, we opted to take our chances regardless, and headed for a reasonably new mark that has proven fruitful in the past and would hopefully shield us from the worst of the weather. Wi...

Guru are a brilliant company. We helped them out with a few projects during their filming of 'Rodtrip'
Most likely the river forth
are permits required?
Yeah
The best swim is the jetty just up from where yous are fishing..fish close to the bank next to the big overhanging tree there’s some decent dace in there maybe a pb?..I seen an older gentleman hauling them out when I was salmon fishing & they were decent big fish…he was float fishing maggots?.
what is the venue or at least the river?
River Forth i think it was.
Noddies

Great video again chaps👌 some beautiful barbel there and well done on the pb Alex. Filming's really good and it's refreshing just to see a couple of down to earth friends enjoying their fishing. Must get up the Trent next season.
A great three day trip for the two of you. An enjoyable and entertaining video . The sequence with the swans was hilarious! That 13.4 lbs barbel was a really beautiful barbel. I have fished just on the other side of that fence in the water and it fished quite well when the level was up as it was with you. Well done !
Well done guys you will never hear the end of it Gordon that fish Alex had was a real belter keep them coming soon be Grayling time can't wait
cracking sessions chaps well done with the PB
25barbel trip is good in anyones book. Very enjoyable series to watch👍 roll on next September, with all your exploits in between

Ah sorry lol.....hope ye enjoy mate 🤞🏻
Quality. 👍
What part of the Trent was that running through Scotland? LOL 😆
Just subbed 👍.
Thanks for the sub! 🤝🏻
It’s strange how on two consecutive days the fishing can be so different ! Bad luck on losing the two barbel, it happens to us all. Enjoyable video though!
That's the problem with the Green Umbrella Brigade, they think fly fishing is easy, like anything you have to devote time and effort into it. Are your nymphs heavy enough to be getting to the bottom? What's your rig like? 1 or 2 nymphs? I'll fish a 3 fly rig with 2 weighted nymphs on point and middle and a hopper or such like on the top. Don't dismiss Euro-nymphing, it's deadly and helped me get the better Grayling too. Stop trying to cast for the heavens.
Not clued up on the 'Green Umbrella Brigade' I was fishing 2 nymphs, defo heavy enough. Not dismissing anything. Stop trying to cast for the heavens? I'm still learning how to do it, so a little more description needed as to what you mean. Cheers G 🤝🏻
What a day indeed! You caught the conditions just right with the extra water on. 16 barbel, incredible. A great watch, thank you , and that was just Part 1 !
Cheers mate Part 2 is already up, with Part 3 coming on Wednesday.
Only thing I see slightly wrong Gordon Don’t think you where leavening the nymph in long enough ie recasting to quick. Just an observation no a criticism. I’m my experience letting it get down a bobbing along for a while works just resetting it and taking the slack up as it drifts. But I don’t know the nith so I might be talking mince. But hope it may help. Love your work lads.
I'll take all the help I can get mate. Shall bare it in mind next time. 🤝🏻
Doing nothing wrong… far too mild I’m seeing Grayling still topping for flies .. once it gets colder and they get there heads down they’ll kick in….I’ll be looking forward to my week on the Teviot… all the best lads
Thanks mate. Best of luck
Brill video . I changed to Braid last year bhoys to fish at distance ! The mid double pike jumped and hit the braid and it sliced badly . Unsure if I'll use braid again 😢 Looked a brilliant venue !
If you see this; please could you say what is your favourite dead bait would be? In Lakeland we can only use sea species?
You can't go wrong with a mackerel tail.
@@angling360 thanks. It’s a go to. Coz I can catch them. Sometimes I do wonder if I’m missing a super bait!
I am an average pike angler! I love these videos. I honestly find watching people who know what they are doing let’s me compare and contrast. Also seeing people who are competent have slow days or blanks keeps me from despair! Great work, thanks
We are bang average too mate, please believe that. I'm glad you enjoy our videos and get a little help from us. Thanks for the support 🤝🏻
Stick to lochs 😂😂
Probably right.
Excellent videos! These really do help me out. I am fishing Bassenthwaite lake in Cumbria. Your videos are the best Big water piking videos on RUclips. The videos are just a great watch. Loverly stuff. So thanks for posting
Glad you like them! Cheers Jimmy
Great video, is that the Clyde your on
No mate, we sometimes give that a bash aswell.
Enjoyable as always guys
I'm far from an expert G, but learned some stuff fishing for these stunning beasts. Try Oros or Corqs floats, they allow you to very quickly adjust depth, you need to keep adjusting depth so that your tickling the bottom, particularly in the depths of winter. Something new I'm trying is dropshot instead of tungsten nymphs, a couple of no6 shot at terminal end of leader, and unweighted nymphs on short droppers above (one just above these). Means you 'hook' the bottom way less and if you want to add or remove weight, your not changing flies to do this. Keep your lines short too, tempting to try and have big long drifts, but you'll catch more fish using shorter drifts, means less drag, bite detection is better. Just water load cast, no need for loads of false casts. I fish a beat or two above, no Grayling fishing til 1st December, canny wait. Had some nice ones off the Ayr already, but the fish in 'your' river are something else!. Definitely need to be keeping changing tactics, depths and flies, and fish seams between fast and slow water. Fish I'm catching at the moment are still in streamy water, generally right on the edges of it or at the tails of streams.
