Shiv Kunal Verma is an Indian military historian and a documentary filmmaker who has produced documentaries on Indian defence services, particularly the Kargil War. He is perhaps best known for the book 1962: The War That Wasn't, a study of the Sino-Indian War that occurred in 1962 between India and China. Verma was educated at The Doon School and Madras Christian College. He has written a book on The 1965 War. The Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 was a culmination of skirmishes that took place between April 1965 and September 1965 between Pakistan and India. The conflict began following Pakistan's Operation Gibraltar, which was designed to infiltrate forces into Jammu and Kashmir to precipitate an insurgency against Indian rule. India retaliated by launching a full-scale military attack on West Pakistan. The seventeen-day war caused thousands of casualties on both sides and witnessed the largest engagement of armored vehicles and the largest tank battle since World War II. India had the upper hand over Pakistan when the ceasefire was declared. Although the two countries fought to a standoff, the conflict is seen as a strategic and political defeat for Pakistan, as it had neither succeeded in fomenting insurrection in Kashmir nor had it been able to gain meaningful support at an international level.

General mor, I'm regular watcher of your you tube videos,I salute you from the core of my heart. You are doing very good job by inspiring youthes of this country. I just want to let you know that I also fought kargil war of Kala pahar in 1971under the command of Lt col BS Joshi. Our battalion 18th Punjab captured all the enemy posts which were on the top of brachil pass which was near about 14000ft high while Kala pahar was13000ft. I was Sepoy with only three years service. I never heard about kala Pahar since then except one article in the tribune written by Brigadier JS brar who was 2nd Lt at that time I think he was commissioned hardly two three months prior to war. Our battalion captured all posts of enemy which were in front of us. We went there in September 1970 at that time elections were going to be held in Pakistan. In the very first sainik sammelan our CO perdicted that we have come here to fight a war. Because no military dictator handed over power to civilian govt peacefully. After elections there will be unrest in Pakistan. And to Detroit the intention of Pakistani people, they must indulge in war. So he started exercises soon after our battalion Raining day on 15th January 1971.We did military exercise up-to 31st March continuesly. You can imagine how difficult to stay in open in that minus temperature. Almost upto September we did small and long exercises from drass to nearby siachin area. That was the result of all those exercises which we shown during the War. I will give this credit to our commanding officer Lt col Bhim sen joshi. I did 18years service prior to hang my boots volunteerly in 1986 but I have never seen such a brave, honest and spiritual officer during my entire service. I'm not merely saying he was the only brave officer in my battalion. Major Sahota who was decorated with Sena medal
Major NKKhanna, Maj kahlon our 2nd in command Maj Balraj Latasha and all other officers, JCOs and all other ranks were indeed very brave and courageous because war is not a one man show. It's team work valour. But as there is a idiom "ladan foujan naa sardaran de"(army fights credit goes to commander). Indeed credit must go to commander because he is responsible for all the planning in battlefield and training prior to war.
Thank you so much for your comments. Salute your unit and the leadership of your CO. I am humbled by the fact that you enjoy my videos, I have dedicated my second innings for the young generation of our country.
Thank you Shriman. Jai Bharat 🙏

Respected Sir, in the discussion there are mentions of Some Senior leadership not rising to the occasion...Sir, if that is the truth where goes their Dedication, Devotion and Professionalism...Does their Leadership Qualities fade away...
" Achha hai na We have more targets to shoot at "😂😂♥️🇮🇳
Sir did u hear the news that Cadet Pratyush In NDA died due to cardiac arrest.....I was devastated by hearing the news.....Honestly I don't want to see myself in that situation..... Atleast not before becoming an officer in the Indian Army.....What would u suggest on preventing injury in the Academy?????
don't join armed forces then if u have the fear of injury or death it happens exceptions are everywhere.
This could be just bad luck, let us wait for a detailed report on the accident/incident..

Sir Pakistan attacked India in 1965 because it had conventional military edge over India with m-46 patton tanks, M24 chaffee tanks, American Sabre jets heavy artillery guns. Unfortunately today also we are still vulnerable despite facing two front situation posed by Pakistan and China. After bofors scandal not a single piece of 155 mm artillery gun was inducted in Army for more than 2 decades. IAS lobby in MOD scuttled Army's bid to acquire Israeli Athos 155 mm artillery guns OFB's Dhanush and DRDO's ATAGS are following path of Arjun tank poor design heavy weight skipped deadlines massive cost overruns on other hand Pakistan is arming itself with latest Turkish panter 155mm guns and Chinese artillery guns.
Mr Mor what about your saying Punjabi s and Fukra ..??? Punjabis exist in Indian Punjab also Who fought for the country .
1990 gulf war changed the concept of war from tactics to network centric war. The cutting edge technology of 90s was used then.
With evolution and development in new technology the war will also get evolved.
In the current ongoing war in ukraine and Azerbaijan we have seen extensive use of kamakazee drones.
Will the upcoming Indo china war will be similar like Ukrainian and Azerbaijan war?
Absolutely not in my opinion. My greatest fear is that it will be a AI BASED cyber warfare first. Think of the scenario where SBI server hacked, powergrid hacked and fire caught. The civiliant tele networks jammed. Railways signal jammed. Complete chaos among common pepole.
The defence communication network jameed. Messege in chain of command delayed. And then the military action that too not by human but AI based robots.
